In order to give the most accurate and most informative Café’ Reviews, I am one of the few Google Reviewers that judges my reviews on the following 6 points.
1. Service; Friendly service by the wait staff and barista’s in a clean environment, with clean facilities (even though, they are shared with another business, when I went in – everything was clean and well stocked.
2. Coffee; African blend made in Chatswood – I ordered the cappuccino - it was fast, hot and strong, exactly the way I like it.
3. Vibe; cool and chilled out vibe-with soft music in the background – not overly loud.
4. Cleanliness; Ultra-clean tables with beautiful table decorations and clean bathroom facilities.
5. Food; I had the pulled pork with with pecan and maple slaw, with dried rosemary and chipotle aioli on a freshly made bagle (made in their kitchen, not brought in). Looked good enough to be considered as fine dining for breakfast, but, this is all part of what sets this café’ apart, every coffee and every dish served gets the chef-owners approval before it goes out. This is what you get served on the daily in this new café’ (opened for around one month, when I reviewed it). The owner has worked in some really great kitchens in England, and in the Eastern Suburbs where he amassed his finesse, his attention to detail and good wholesome yummy tasting food skills. I think he may even have a couple of Michelin stars under his belt??...
6. Signature foods/point of difference; FREE WIFI! This café’ is doing away with plastics to do their bit for climate change, which scores highly for me. They also make their own bagels, brownies and on the weekends the chef makes his own brand of signature chocolate muffins. The pastries are brought in fresh each day. Small café’ off-street with a cosy and cool vibe. Small things like the attention to detail on the table decorations… the coconut chia pods with chocolate soil are all made in house as well. There is also free parking on Little Street (subject to availability for 2 hours at the back of the Café’) Otherwise, you can get free 30 minute parking on Darling Street, or pay for 1 hour parking (1.00 – 5.00 approx).
I paid $20.00 for my cappuccino and bagel and pulled pork and pecan and maple slaw – which was reasonable price to pay given the average costs in Balmain, service, the quality and presentation of the food. I also tried their in-house made brownies, and they were a sweet, moist, almost sticky -like chocolate lovers dream, worthwhile trying these, they are very moorish, have two if your feeling depressed or feel like sharing it with a loved one :) – Taste sensation and a taste-bud treat!! Well done, keep it up - 5 out of 5. I will be back... #thehunterworks #mysydneycafereviews
