"Quality, gently used goods fill the shelves of The Guild Shop. Sign up for their newsletter, they take consignments and donations on a schedule which ensures they can manage what goods are coming in. It was opened in 1962 by the Sewing Group of the Church of St. John the Divine, and is almost entirely run by volunteers. Proceeds go to assist the elderly in need, giving large donations to their beneficiary—St. James House, the Episcopal Diocesan retirement home, and many other humanitarian charities. See something you love, but it is more than you'd like to spend? Take a risk, and check the tag for the next set drop date. Just remember, it's for a good cause and there might be someone else doing the same thing." - Curiosity and Curiosities

Went for the Christmas pop up (honestly was drug by my mom). But I did enjoy getting to see everything, there were sooo many people which is great but overwhelming for me. Honestly, everyone who I came into contact with was super nice and friendly and also they have a lot of cool unique items for gifts. I also love their pricing strategy how the price decreases based on how long the item has been on the shelves. It encourages repeat customers, movement of inventory and also a fun unique treasure hunt environment.

Purchased unique jewelry here in the past some years ago. 9/6/2024 around noon visited with my boyfriend to browse. All of the volunteers we encountered were quite friendly and offering assistance. An assistant offered us an opportunity to view heirlooms from behind the glass near the register, but we didn’t have anything in mind for a closer look. I now wish I’d asked her about the jewelry before she left to keep our experience as bright as it was. We went to the jewelry kiosk to ask about men’s jewelry. The attendant(short haircut, glasses) behind the counter called out to another individual interrupting my boyfriend’s request twice, never bothering to return and clarify or offer assistance the way everyone else had in the store. She walked away and turned her body to face the opposite counter where no one stood. Please do better to not turn away young couples. Thankfully there were other shops nearby, we moved on to The List and Native Citizen.

In search of another store, passed this shop which looked interesting. Parking lot was full. Store is quite large with so many items like jewelry, clothing, household goods, plus a consignment area. To some, it's simply fascinating.

Montrose Street parking and adjacent private lot Here you complete with dealers. There is Art I have seen at galleries double and triple. There also jewellery, vinyl clothing and furniture and everything betwixt. The budget time you will need it

I HATE places that are so openly anti-Mom! And I'm surprised that a Christian non profit would be so anti-family. If you aren't going to allow people to shop in your store with strollers then you need to provide shopping carts. How is a mom supposed to shop while holding a baby? I can't hold anything else when I have the baby and the diaper bag! Not to mention it hurts my back. I feel like they've alienated an entire population by doing this. I used to love shopping here but since having the baby have quickly come to realize how openly anti-family so many places are.

I don't understand a store that doesn't allow mothers with strollers. How are you supposed to shop and hold a nonwalking child? Some children are NON walkers for various reasons that SHOULD NOT have to be explained to strangers. Every stroller does not contain a BABY that can be held.
