The Grand Daddy Boutique Hotel

We recently hosted my partner's 30th birthday at The Grand Daddy Hotel, and we were completely blown away by the entire experience. From the moment we started planning, Evans was incredibly supportive and helpful, guiding us through every step of the process. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, with a unique and vibrant aesthetic. The location is incredibly central, making it easy for our guests. We were particularly impressed with the quality of their food platters, which were delicious and beautifully presented. The bar also offered a good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. We also booked my parents in to the hotel, so had the opportunity to see how stunning the rooms are as well. The staff at The Grand Daddy were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our event ran smoothly. We can't recommend them highly enough!

We stayed in the rooftop Winelands Airstream which was a very pleasant and fun experience. The Rooftop Sky Bar also has a great ambience and feel to it. All and all, despite booking issues, we enjoyed this unique stay. The booking process and administration at the Grand Daddy is a major problem. Check your bill twice when checking out. In addition, the front desk staff and supervisor have terrible attitudes and should not be in hospitality whatsoever. We made a one-night reservation at the beginning of January 2025, for our stay at the end of January. First, upon booking we paid the 50% requested deposit. The terms said the balance was due 7 days prior to arrival. We did not receive any acknowledgement after booking. In fact we received a mail saying we should complete our booking. 7 Days prior to arrival, there was no e-mail for the balance and no payment link anywhere, not on the invoice, and not even on their site. We phoned and the front desk said we should pay upon arrival. We told them that was what their own rules say. Two days prior to arrival we received a payment link out of the blue. We paid the balance in full using the portal link. Upon checkout, first the agent said we owed R100 for parking. We already paid that as part of our first payment. Then she said we owed R2,832 and she swiped our credit card for R2,832. We assumed it was extras. When we asked (after paying), extras were R1067.00. They made us pay R1,750 more than we owed. After about 45 minutes of arguing, they finally agreed after a terrible attitude. They missed two of our payments via their portal. They promised to send us the invoice and to this day, despite us phoning and e-mailing, we stil have not received it. They do not reply to any e-mails. Sadly the checkout experience and what felt like "cheating" left a very bad taste, especially the non-care attitude with no apology at all.

We visited their rooftop bar for sundowners and it was perfect There’s a couple of seating options but it doesn’t necessarily have the best view due to the surrounding buildings however the rooftop itself has got a very nice aesthetic. I especially loved the old school lift! The menu is the best part, the food and drink options are very affordable and delicious

Not a “boutique” hotel. Its big and lots of people come in for the rooftop and when we arrived, it was closed for a private party. It was impossible to sleep in our room, so loud. When we complained nothing changed. Incredible how they dont seem to care about guests wanting to sleep after 23:00. Also got a room with windows that were blacked out. So basically no windows.

We hosted my son’s 21st birthday on the rooftop. The entire experience was just wonderful. Evans and Vuyo were incredible: professional, helpful and friendly, every request was treated with the utmost care and everything ran like clockwork. The food was delicious. The venue is simply gorgeous. Not even the rain could dampen a magical evening. We are so grateful for the sheer effort put in by all the hotel staff to make it so special. Thank you. We will be back to stay soon.

We came for the Alice show. Show was very good, excellent young performers. Food gave us really serious food poisoning despite a hefty ticket price of R795 pp. We spent the rest of our weekend in bed. The bar man upstairs had a really bad attitude. We were early for the show so we wanted to order us a few drinks beforehand. He refused to squeeze in our order for two beers and insisted to finalize the other guests' extensive cocktail order. We had to leave after waiting for around 25 min. If I was a tourist here I would be even more frustrated than we are.

A rather flashy & trendy boutique hotel, in the heart of Cape Town. I haven't had the pleasure of staying in their rooms, but I was privileged to attend an event hosted on their rooftop ! Friendly bartenders & panoramic views. Literally perfect for cocktail socials & work gatherings. Relax & enjoy the city's ambiance.

The staff were so warm and welcoming and very helpful. Lovely large spaceus room, great breakfast, loved the sky bar with the caravans and it had a great vibe. Enjoyed our brief stay here. V and A waterfront is a great area for good restaurants and bars and is a beautiful area. Best to get an uber which takes about 10 mins from the hotel
