"A classic pub with some of the comfiest sofas around. It’s a great place to take your mates for a round of drinks and “banter”. If you get sick of your compadres lame jokes then you’re in luck, The Finsbury has a roster of professional comedians on hand to sort them out. That or you can stare out the ever-so-large windows wondering why the hell you keep inviting Chad to these things." - The Barefaced Movement

They have excellent cider on draught, especially for London, had an excellent pizza, that seemed like it had been in a pizza oven, and scratch cooked. My group's food was excellent too in quality and portion. Atmosphere was great, with the quality food it meant people were out for a good time, not just to get ruined, was lively inside with a band warming up, and a good selection of alcohol if I was local I'd be here regularly.

Popped in as staying at the Travelodge above Manor House tube. Got there around 10pm for a late pint . No draught bitter! So had a lager and sat in the rear garden ..they also have outdoor seating out front...on way back through bar a band was on so stayed for 3 songs...very pleasant. Highly recommend a visit..

Excellent pub, with an open and friendly atmosphere. Great service. Good food. Many interesting bands play here live. The only annoying thing is the smoke machine that irritates your trachea and lungs.

They have a really lovely beer garden in the summer that is a great sun trap. The staff are super friendly and always make sure my dog has a bowl of water on arrival and the food is pretty damn good. Inside could use a little more life to it, maybe some sofas and different lighting but other than that, it's a fab pub!

I knew the service in this place could be offhand, but I popped in this evening because I wanted a quiet pint in nice surroundings with relaxed lighting. Unfortunately, I regretted my decision before I had even paid, as the bar person greeted me with a blank face and slight upward nod - no greeting, nor any enquiry as to what I might like to spend my money on - even after I waited a moment for her to issue one - and then, to add insult to injury, after pouring £6.95 worth (apparently) of lager into a glass and placing the card reader she walked off and there was no further interaction between us (even though I had said thank you for pouring the drink). Every so often one encounters people who one thinks are exceptionally lucky to have their job. I believe I met another one this evening. So, if manners, courtesy, a cordial welcome matter for you, please, go elsewhere.

Absolutely brilliant pub. Security staff on (but not needed) fantastic food where you can eat this and socialise then move to the next room and listen to live bands. If you don't want food you can drink and go to the food places on the same street. One of the best pubs I've been to in a very long time with the travel lodge across the road and the underground literally right there. I will definitely be going back!!!

Google
A lively local with live music on many evenings and (at least seemingly) a stable scene of regulars who keep it a jolly place with a good atmosphere. Not much going on in terms of pub in the immediate Manor House tube station area but thanks to the music, the properly staffed bar, and the handy quieter back garden, these guys earn their keep. They serve great pizzas and burgers, too. Wish they hosted standup comedians more often. Prices unfortunately fairly gentrified but not shocking, there's an efficient and uncomplicated QR code online ordering system for the outside bit, it does get quite busy on Friday and Saturday nights but hey, it would be suspicious if they weren't. Great overall! Note: front terrace can get a bit smoky at times when too many smokers gather.

I never had anything to eat. Only had drinks, not really a good selection if you like brandy. Service was good and the atmosphere was pretty decent.

Yelp
A solid 4 is what I am giving. I did not go here for food, but rather to see one of my favorite lesser-known artists perform. I arrived late to see Andi Pomato, but still got to catch the last bit of his set. The entire night ended up being amazing because they were having Sunday Kind of Love, a music session for a number of different artists. Moving to food and drink. I can't really speak to the food except the chips with cheese. It wasn't the best, but it definitely held its own. I had an aperol spritz, which was tangy yet sweet. Side point: a very nice size goblet indeed. I also had a really good lager that I think I forgot to take a picture of. My friends each had a Jack and Coke, which they enjoyed. I'll be back next year when I fly over for the next Sunday Kind of Love and maybe next time I'll have an actual meal. As always, happy eating and drinking. MarieMG

Yelp
Great pub, sexist staff. One of the best places in London for live music however impossible to get a drink without being subject to a deluge of misogynistic comments by male bar staff. Made me incredibly uncomfortable and even lightly hit me on my head when I refused to high five him. Then continued to make inappropriate "69" jokes, even commenting on my dietary requirements as "does your diet not contain men". Women should be able to buy a drink without being subject to this uncalled for behaviour. Grow up and have some respect, it's 2023.

Yelp
I went at a very quiet time on Saturday afternoon. When I say 'quiet', I mean that I was the only person there. However, as I waited for a friend, I ordered a drink and watched the cars go by and people run on the pathway. It was a nice place to relax and the guy at the bar was friendly. I can see this place being great during the evening or summer time as there is an outdoor seating area with picnic benches. Inside, there are enough sitting spaces and a descent size bar. I didn't get the chance to explore more of the pub but I liked it. On the left hand side of where I sat, just to the right of the bar, is what I assumed to be the kitchen separated from the sitting area only by a short brick wall. There was only a brick arch which I liked the look of by the kitchen. I hope to come here again during the evening to test the vibe but I can imagine, being close to a park, it would be great.

Yelp
Came here for a gig and it definitely delivered on that front (maybe too much smoke). Three real ales on tap but unfortunately the cans of Oranjeboom on display were apparently only for the bands (keep them undercover then so as to avoid folk being disappointed). Good sized front bar and outside drinking/smoking area so it's probably rammed during summer weekends. Decent enough bar service.

Yelp
This place was built in the perfect location to catch the evening sun! I've been here a couple of times after work to soak up the rays. They have a decent sized beer garden with plenty of benches. The prices are decent and the crowd is nice. This place is always packed so if you see a spare bench - grab it quick! A definite winner after a hard day at the grindstone!

Yelp
I've gone The Finsbury for 3 years every now and then go to have some pint and pizza. Yesterday I popped in with some friends and at the bar one of us been told from the bartender that he wasn't going to serve him as he was wearing sweatpants, we thought, he was kidding as we always go there and there has NEVER been a dress code, never been mentioned from the staff, not even on the web site. I have also been there watching football match in the past and there were a lot of sweatpants going around, also few weeks ago a table of 6 next to me were having good time there after an athletic running, you could tell, because they were still dressed with the racing suit.. The Finsbury never was a fancy place, but a regular, cool, PUB where you can go there for a Friday night but also on a Tuensday night, straight after work.. apparently not anymore.. I am still wondering if this is a new policy, and if this is the case, they should let you know at the entrance and on the web site, or just the bartender been haughty.

Yelp
Attended charity event - played with OBT OFFICIAL BURNT TOAST at this venue - several bands gave their talent for the cause. Well-attended ! https://twitter.com/sonskrif/status/602240124064235520

Yelp
I like this pub. I've been going here infrequently for a few years mainly because a friend hosts a comedy show every Wednesday night. I must say this is a great place for it as they've now refurbished it and set out the back room a bit better to cater the audience. The comedy each week can vary in good guests but the consistency is there. It used to be free but now they are charging a small fee which is fair enough. The great news is 'Bear Funny' comedy show is now working with the pub much more collaboratively. By that I mean this charge for ticket is tied in with a food and drink deal. At a cost of around £9 on eventbite or £8.50 on yplan app gets you a whole pizza, glass of wine and a ticket to the show. Great value I think compared to most comedy nights around London. And a really good line up most weeks (Weds). Tip look out for Abandoman comedy hip hop act. I feel the pub even though it is in a strange location and somewhat a pub on its own on this part of the street, is turning a bit hipster. Maybe it's because of the owners or a new direction but you can see it in the decor, even if the dark lighting still exists (almost too dark inside). But who cares when it is nowhere near East London, but a often forgotten part of Manor House! Power to them. I like this place and it would be good to check out other events of they have it here.

Yelp
I'm sorry to do this but very disappointing. We saw the great reviews on Yelp so stopped in for a bite and a drink. Choices on menu are burgers or pizza. We ordered burgers. They had none. I then ordered a glass of Chardonnay. And they had none! And that's when we left. Don't have a menu if you have. Itching on it in stock.

Yelp
I've walked past this pub for two years before ever going in, and then it was only because a friend's band was playing there. I was pleasantly surprised. Apparently, the pub used to be a bit rough, but they've refitted it into a really great space to see music and hang out. The staff was friendly and the ambiance was warm and welcoming. Beers were somewhat expensive at £4+ a pint. Seemed especially strange for this area. The taps are your typical pub offerings - Carlsberg, Guinness, etc. It's worth a stop in if you live in the area.

Yelp
Nice clean pub,and a welcome from the staff which was nice, double spirits 3.50 with coke cant grumble.gents toilet was really clean, and they have a massive screen for sky sports but its at the back of this pub which means I didnt have to watch it,not a sporty person no pool table which makes it more attractive to me,all in all a nice bar alas no real ales,

Yelp
My new local? This is certainly the best pub I've found in the Manor House area so far, and a recent re-vamp seems to have worked wonders in turning it into a cool hangout that's a magnet for local bands and beer-lovers alike. The interior has a slightly crumbling shabby chic look about it, with a large old-style bar surrounded by seating on three sides and a small stage area on the other, which was occupied by a band rehearsing for an upcoming gig. It was pretty well-attended and lively even on a Tuesday night, with lots of people also sitting on the outside decking a great option on a hot evening. The selection of drinks is a bit limited but all are well-priced, making it a fairly cheap bar. I will be back, possibly on a Sunday daytime when there are barbecue lunches made fresh in the front garden. ETA this pub is NOT IN STOKE NEWINGTON! it should be Manor House. We have precious little in the way of attractions please don't give this rather good one to those greedy Stokey bods.

Yelp
Used to be my favorite pub in the area with live bands, descent selection of beers on tap and bbq over summer. Not very keen on it since management change. The atmosphere is not the same but serving pizza was a great idea.

Yelp
This is a really nice pub, just a stones throw from Manor House station and the back of Finsbury park. It had a refurb in 2010 and since then it has become one of the coolest hangouts in North London. It has become a great artist venue because every night there is something taking place on the big, tall stage at the back of the bar. Open Mic music on Thursday, Salsa Dancing on Friday along with DJ nights both Friday and Sat that are the busiest night out for miles around. Great DJs and vibe. Sundays there is a BBQ in summer and Monday night is film night. On Wednesday they do the ROFL and LOL Comedy Club, which is a really warm, friendly room for up and coming comedy performers. They have people off the TV, but some great circuit pros and open mic comedians, but best of all regardless of the day all the events are free entry. Lets talk beers. Stella, Staropramen, Guinness, London Pride are on tap and that is enough to make me happy. although the cocktails are pretty tasty as they are served without pretentiousness. Actually they take cards too, which is great because there isnt a free cash machine for about 1km, so that is a masterstroke in persuading you in one for the road. If you pass this place you notice how there is lots of people sat outside and you should join them on a hot summers day or a dark winter evening when they show the projections of The Digital gallery an in-house art scheme changed monthly. The furnishings inside are pretty comfy with lots big chairs, sofas, low wooden coffee tables and interesting wallpapers leave a rich feel to this place. Sadly no food (except for the weekly BBQ) but worth a visit for one of the events on London's highest stage (maybe), just don't forget to take in the movie posters around the ceiling!

Yelp
Went for a nice drink with some friends. Lovely place, nice atmosphere and they even had a band playing! Toilets were surprisingly nice. My only complaint would be the door staff but it feels like everywhere in London have bad door staff
