Located near the Venice Pier, The cow’s end has nothing but a pleasant smell of coffee and delicious food. :) We stopped here for coffee and because they had gluten-free options on the menu, my wife got a gluten-free avocado toast and a gluten-free donut to go. The staff was very friendly and you could tell this is a place that locals and visitors alike spend time and enjoy the ambience. When we were there, we met friendly dogs and local people.

Google
1/5 for the big bully wrap 5/5 for service, vibe, decor, and workspace Only got the big bully wrap, which I did not like, so hopefully their other food items and coffee are better because it’s such a cute space otherwise. Didn’t like that the only wrap option was whole wheat, didn’t like the type of salsa or sausage it was made with, and why not melt the cheese into the eggs so that it’s more evenly spread throughout rather than having a clump of cold shredded cheese in the middle of the wrap? That said, it was very cute inside. Lots of plants, lots of natural light, and two large rooms upstairs for workspace, which was almost empty on a Saturday morning at 9am. The guy who took my order was very nice and food was ready in under 10 min.

Google
Awesome breakfast and coffee place. Close to the beach, super nice staff, good coffee, good prices. Highly recommend :)

Google
A fantastic place for coffee and something nice to eat. We spent a couple of days in Venice Beach at the end of October and went to the Cow‘s End for breakfast every morning. We looked at alternatives but always ended up coming back. The quality of both drinks- we tried coffees and Macha Latte - and the food (three different bagels for me 😁) is simply great. The people running the place are extremely friendly, patient and chilled, simply a fantastic atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back👍

Google
We decided to stop by, as we went to the Venice canals prior and got a bit hungry. The place on the outside looked pretty nice - there was an outdoor dining area. Inside was nice, air conditioning, and an upstairs dining area. Clean inside. We got a salad and a spicy pollo wrap. Both were delicious, although, would say the wrap wasn't mixed too well, as the first first is much different-tasting than the rest. Friendly service. Would come here again soon.

Google
Absolutely, agree with other reviewers, place is a very chill welcoming atmosphere with a warm hospitality, perfect for a somewhat cool late Jan/February morning in LA.😎🤙 Seems like the coffee, latte's are wonderfully made, Love the aroma of Café s, because reminiscent of my grandmother's house off the Mediterranean.💜💙💜 La Nonna 💜. Unfortunately, still haven't tried the food, yet . Hopefully, next time.🤙

Google
I wasn’t expecting food to be this good here. We only had wrap and coffee but the wrap was amazing. Coffee can be little smoother but over all I enjoyed it. Place was clean and order was smooth. Beach vacation atmosphere made me happy 😃 Parking can be a little hard like most beach area.

Yelp
This little spot never disappoints! I love their coffee and smoothies and the prices are everything we need in Venice. I'm coming back to try a sandwich! The Coconut Latte, White Chocolate Mocha and White Chocolate latte are all phenomenal. I recently had their complete nutrient smoothie and it was so good 10/10. Best thing is that they are dog friends and sell the best $0.29 dog treats!

Yelp
June 2024 | Venice Beach: The Cow's End Cafe is a neighborhood favorite! My favorites are the colorful açai bowls, croissants, smoothies & the Thai Tuna Wrap! Open every day from 6 AM to 6 PM! Plenty of seating, inside, upstairs & outside! Local: Walked over, as it's a hop skip & a jump away! I wanted to eat local for the 1st day of Summer! It's fun to sit, eat & people watch! After all these years, today is the first day that I sat at the wide open window, which is pretty cool! Seating is upstairs, downstairs, outside and even on the extended patio! Note: I've been eating at The Cow's End before I even moved to Venice Beach & used to walk over from a friend's house and get the delicious Thai Tuna Wrap, as it's my favorite! Smiles Are Us: Friendly customer service with a smile, even when this place gets super busy! Overall: Charming place where you will see locals, experience friendly service, a variety of yummy food; something for everyone, plenty of seating & great place to people watch! Afterwards, why not head over to the beach, which is just a few steps away! Fun!

Yelp
Best coffee shop in SoCal. Great people, coffee and food! It's a must try. My favorite place by far.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Great spot! Atmosphere is fantastic and it has a cool vibe! The staff are friendly and it's a great place to work or meet people!

Georgia B.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever had cubed eggs before. Do with this information what you will. Smoothie was really really good though. I recommend the mango tango.

Tony T.

Yelp
The food is probably the blandest food I've had. It's a popular spot mostly for coffee in the mornings but there are better food spots up if you head west.

Kate M.

Yelp
Coming back to this place brings back memories! I used to come here for coffee and a pastry in the early 2000s and I love that it is not only still here, but it still feels the same! Had a great time bringing my kids here... tried the oat milk, banana nut latte, and it was different and interesting! Very nice employees. Enjoyed their breakfast. Definitely nostalgic for me and enjoyed my trip down memory lane.

Robert D.

Yelp
If you're on this end of Venice come grab something refreshing and fresh to drink or eat. The staff is friendly and helpful too.

Marq T.

Yelp
3 1/2 stars. I had the Big Bull Wrap that was OK. The egg was pre-made and warmed. I enjoyed the fresh ingredients mixed into the wrap. Construction at the location did not help with ambiance. All in all a fair meal prepared by uninterested staff.

James N.

Yelp
This isn't just a coffee shop, this is an institution. The Cows End is a Venice/MDR MUST. I came here daily back in the 90's and, coming back to visit 30 years later, it is still the great local hangout with fabulous breakfast and coffee it always was. And, the smiling barista behind the counter that I remember from back in the day is STILL HERE serving up that goodness. Grab a cup and walk down to the pier and let the ocean waves set the tone for your day. There's nothing better. A classic.

Jay T.

Yelp
Cute place terrible organization...literally stood in line for 5 minutes got cut pushed to the front then the back. Then then people started yelling their orders because no one knew who was first. Dear god and the gentleman at the front didn't help organize the people into a line. I hate to say it but Starbucks across the street at least has a line to stand in.

Dorothy D.

Yelp
Delicious coffee and smoothie. Croissant not genuine but decent. Great crowd and vibe. WiFi pass not working can't work here tried it w friend 10 times. Awesome location. Grungy ish fun legit Venice vibe.

April W.

Yelp
I've worked nearby for over 10 years, and have had the occasional coffee or bagel sandwich with no issues. Today a colleague ordered lunch for us and I selected a crunchy Thai tuna salad. Got the (very light) box to my office, opened it and no tuna to be found! Also no olive oil. While I can give a pass for forgetting the olive oil, a tuna salad with no tuna is a different story. I got a copy of my colleague's receipt and walked over in the rain with my tuna-less salad. They were apologetic & made me a new salad with the olive oil & tuna though I did notice that the second salad had about half the bacon of the first one. While I appreciated their apology & willingness to make me another salad, I'm not so sure about returning. Anyway, the salad was pretty good but would have been better if I didn't have to go out in the rain to get it right.

Yelp
Great customer service, surprisingly quiet + spacious upstairs seating, but their food was just "meh". I ordered a spicy pollo pesto wrap and a strawberry lemonade freeze. Their price to portion ratio is pretty affordable and reasonable compared to other touristy space. The food came with a side salad, which was pretty nice, but the wrap itself was pretty basic. Reminds me of the grab-n-go wraps, even though I saw them making it. The smoothie itself was...okay as well. It was slightly too watery for my own personal preference. They have a very spacious and cute sitting area upstairs though. There were only a few people upstairs (working on their laptop) when I went. They don't post the wifi on their wall, so you'll probably have to ask the staffs or other customers for it. It seems like a perfect place for non-confidential virtual meetings (with earphones) since they don't play music in the background.

Gal D.

Yelp
Good coffee, good sandwiches great location super cool vibe. I work with my computer on the second floor really cool

Julia B.

Yelp
Cow's End Chopped Salad was underwhelming and missing two of the ingredients. The best thing it had going for it was fresh avocado. Upon reviewing my receipt later in the day I realized I may have been overcharged. The representative took corrective action, showing care for customer service even after I had left the restaurant. Next time I might try something from the breakfast or juice menu instead.

Jasmine

Yelp
This tiny cafe is beyond amazing. The menu has plenty of options to choose from base off your diet, and the coffee is great. Workers are welcome and work fast to get your oder out to you as soon as possible. I would definitely recommend stopping by here to pick up a baked good or a cup of coffee!!

Jie G.

Yelp
Conveniently located off Venice pier. I have never seen a no sugar option for green tea matcha latte on the menu before, and they offer that. It is good and you feel healthy too!

Travis M.

Yelp
Overall a solid find. The food is quick and a good amount/quality but nothing to write home about. The salads and sandwiches are all good for a quick bit and they also have some nice patio seating

Steven P.

Yelp
The best coffee shop on the west side. Always a great crowd there and the wifi is great (if you need to do some work). Coffee is cheap compared to the rest of Venice and the employees are very friendly. You're also guaranteed to meet some cute dogs! Make sure you check out the upstairs seating area too

Colie B.

Yelp
This is a very adorable place with a lot to offer. Coffee is very good and they have a very wide selection of custom drinks to choose from! We got donuts and they are delicious and a great start to the day! They also offer hot breakfast and a variety of bagels.

MeiMei F.

Yelp
This is a fun local hangout packed with dogs and their owners. There was a line but it moved quickly. But... I got an oatmilk latte that was god awful. Dreadful. Totally burnt coffee, bad taste oatmilk and too big! (only one size). I ended up throwing it out. Also got a chocolate croissant that tasted 2 days old. The only thing saving this from a 1 or 2-star review is that my kids were really happy with their hot chocolate and vanilla steamers, which I asked for "not too hot" and were delivered at the perfect temperature. My son also got a turkey cheese sandwich that was as promised, solid. I would find a different place if I were in town for a short while with more gourmet coffee and better baked goods.

Sophie B.

Yelp
This neighborhood coffee/dining spot is great for all us Venice Locals. I usually swing by for their morning loose leaf green teas. Which they have an impressive variety of. Makes my partially Asian heart so happy. Also, if it a lunch time thing. I've had a good amount of their vege wraps and love them just as much as their teas. Healthy and light, they are perfect for summer. Without the high carbs and calorie count. God knows it's almost bikini season soon. Us ladies maintain, what we gotta maintain. And cow's end is literally like 56 steps to the sand and beach. Ok, so I made that exact number up lol. But ya know what I mean. It straddles the border btn Venice Beach and Marina Del Rey. So it's still got the Venice chill vibes but parking is less hectic and there's less homelessness. I never stay and dine in at Cow's end, I always do take-out or grab my tea and go. Enjoy yr morning latte, with the salt air in your hair, and the ocean breeze in your nostrils. This mom and pop cafe is one of a kind and truly a character. It's always a pleasure.

Mariana E.

Yelp
We visited on Sunday at around 10 a.m., and though the place was somewhat busy, our order was taken quickly. We waited approximately 5 minutes to pick up the food. Let me tell you, the flavor of the food was spot-on. If you're looking to experience an elevated version of a homemade breakfast, this is the place. All the ingredients were of high quality, and I must mention the coffee! The cappuccino I chose was perfect. Lastly, the ambiance is inviting. Don't forget to visit the second floor; it's cozy, clean, and warm.

Alexandra Y.

Yelp
Local hang out and an every morning stop to kick off the day feelin o sooooo good. Coffee, amazing g juices and do t forget about the fresh made salads and sandwiches Breakfast sando bay bay

Carleen T.

Yelp
Excellent selection of shakes and cookies! A great place to stop for lunch when you're strolling around the beach.

Hayley C.

Yelp
Great little cafe situated right by the beach! I found this cafe when I was looking for another place to study/do hw at. Parking is a bit hectic because of the location but eventually you'll find something lol. I ordered an iced white chocolate matcha latte. I had high hopes for it but it just wasn't all that great. It tasted very bland and not really much like matcha or white chocolate)-: maybe next time I'll try a different drink. The interior however is the biggest plus because there are so many places to sit. AND there's no music blasting like other cafes so that's good for concentrating!! The upstairs is my favorite because it's a little secluded. The bathroom is kinda problematic though because there's only one and everyone has to wait in line/-: Despite those issues I still love this cafe for schoolwork and want to go back!

Kimberly A.

Yelp
Got a to go latte. It was solid. Nothing crazy but my friend loves this place! Close to the beach

Tazae O.

Yelp
The food was great, good sizes and decently priced,. The service was pretty great, very friendly staff and the ambiance was actually quite charming to the tune of American culture. I'd say if you're near the Venice pier, this is a must try.

Angel M.

Yelp
An awesome place a few steps from the beach. I love how big the cafe is and plentiful the seating is. There are outlets and wifi if you want a place to work. The staff are always really nice. And you can't go wrong with a cup of coffee there. You can also try their apple cider which was delightful as well.

Aaron F.

Yelp
I really do enjoy this place. Half a block to the beach, great coffee, pastries, juices, & the most friendly service. Price point isn't too bad. Not inexpensive but not breaking the bank. Right on target with that famous place across the street that starts with a S. Jajaja. I'll be back.

Andre B.

Yelp
A decent local coffee shop burritos have are good. Fan of there iced drinks. Tip for the drinks you may wish to stir them up a bit. I like the sandwich customization as well.

Erica L.

Yelp
The customer service was great and the workers were friendly. I ordered an Iced Coconut Latte, and unfortunately, it fell short for me. I did not enjoy it. Despite mixing my drink, I don't think the flavors blended that well together. I wanted to like my drink, but it just didn't taste right. I would give this place another try in the future--maybe their food and a different drink.

N2 U.

Yelp
They def don't open at 6am. I just left there and hoped I could find a local place before work. There wasn't nobody but and the birds awake up this early. I was disappointed bc in hungry and wanted real food. I'll try again later I look forward to eating here! The name alone got me stoked.

Ray F.

Yelp
Stopped in for a coffee and breakfast bagel one morning while in town. A local favorite, with walk up counter service. The counter help was great, very kind and professional. The place is busy and they make all kinds of breakfast sandwiches, bowls, pastries and wraps. Place your order, pay, grab your beverage and wait for your food. They will call your name when ready for pickup at the counter. My coffee was great and my ham and cheese bagel well made. Crunchy bagel loaded with ham and cheese, spinach and mayo. The bagel sandwich hit the spot with my coffee, sitting in the sun. Plenty of sitting upstairs as well as outside. Friendly service, good coffee and a decent breakfast sandwich. Would return and worth a visit. 3.5 Stars - rounded up for the friendly kind counter service 00784

Ann S.

Yelp
Cafe near Venice beach with a wide variety of coffees and smoothies. I stopped after walking on beach and recall being here one prior time. There were a bunch of people waiting to order. The line was confusing and I eventually figured it out. I ordered decaf iced coffee and it was made really quickly. I was looking for a low sugar smoothie but didn't see any of the menu. The music was a bit loud for me but probably the right vibe for younger crowd. Would def go back!

Lydia C.

Yelp
Fast little place! We were able to sit outside with the pups. Perfect spot for a coffee, smoothie, or sandwich.

Ivy C.

Yelp
Cute inside, but they let the shots on the espresso die on the drinks so the latte was pretty bitter. Then they forgot to write down my friends order, and then when I got mine first there was two little blue plastic pieces in it. So then she just ended up getting a refund and we went elsewhere Probably good for smoothies and bowls but not sure about a sand-which or latte from here

Anna N.

Yelp
This is a very cute place that is close to the beach. The interior was unique, the decorations were very creative with all the cows, and I liked the ambiance. I got the Salted Caramel Almond latte which was very good and had a perfect amount of sweetness/espresso. I also got the breakfast tacos which were just okay for me (probably wasn't my taste). The tacos were messy to eat since they were on mini tortillas so all the small ingredients would fall out and there was quite a bit of sour cream. I would like to come here again and try more of the menu when I'm in the area.

Beth P.

Yelp
Such a good locals spot. Good coffee and variety of pastries to choose from. Loved the atmosphere and would recommend for people watching spot.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
This is the quintessential Venice local spot. I absolutely love Cow's End and have been coming here for years. Even during the covid shutdown I would walk here to get takeout coffee each morning. I was so happy when they reopened the upstairs seating. It's a great place to meet friends or work remotely while sipping coffee or having lunch. The staff are very friendly, and they make excellent coffee drinks and smoothies.

Leonard A.

Yelp
This is the end, beautiful friend, this is the end, my only friend the end. Can you picture what will be? So limitless and free, desperate in need of a strangers hand in a desperate land. At the end of a long day's journey on the boardwalk or out frolicking out in the water. This is a nice little spot to unwind and rewind after a day at the beach or shopping around town. A sweet little two story oasis perfect for lounging or a little tap and browse on the web. The atmosphere is really chill and it's decked out with multiple seating areas for parties of four or more with decor that's definitely inviting. But I was here for their and one of my personal favorites the Latte Latino that comes with steamed condensed milk and 2 espresso shots. That's definitely a pick me up and I'm mos definitely rewound! Besides the coffee they also have wraps and breakfast sandwiches plus Açaí bowls so a little of everything for your undecided tastebuds. Service was on good standards but beware of the parking situation as it's a very popular area. And that's my take on this cafe at the end of the boardwalk, Peace.

Rose R.

Yelp
"Where locals hang". long time favorite place in the neighborhood since the 90's. Couldn't be a healthier menu, laid back beach vibes and friendly service. Please never change a thing! Love you guys so much.

Allison H.

Yelp
These sandwiches are DAMN good! I've eaten here twice now, and both of the sandwiches that I received were exceptional. Super fresh ingredients and their sandwiches are a really sizable portion. Probably should have saved half because of the size, but I ate it all since it was so delish. Great outdoor space as well. Definitely recommend this spot!

Mel Y.

Yelp
Delicious smoothies, for a reasonable price (esp near the beach). And they have a ton of options to choose from! The staff are always so friendly, as well! We live right next to another smoothie shop, but we'll always chose to walk the extra 20 minutes for a Cow's End smoothie! :)

Angie W.

Yelp
I have come to adore the morning squad. You cannot find more efficient and Kind staff with a locals place that is casually packed at all times. Best vibes on the beach.

Kitty K.

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing! I'm so glad we checked The Cow's End Cafe on our morning stroll to the Venice boardwalk. I got the cappuccino con crema- omg it was amazing! I cannot get it off my mind. I wish I wouldn't made it back for another before heading home! It was so delicious! The chai latte was just as good, he got it iced. The line is out the door, mostly locals. It's a great vibe, family owned. Check out the Cow's End Cafe while in Venice Beach, it'll be your new favorite!

Kelly P.

Yelp
We had coffees, one morning we had the bagel egg sandwiches that were yummy, and the next morning we had the açaí bowls which were fabulous! We also left with 2lbs of coffee which have been heaven. We will always stop by when we are in town! Loved it!

Juliane D.

Yelp
The Cow's End is a local favorite. Literally 3 businesses away from a Starbucks but the only line is here! Because all the locals know, this is the best cup of coffee. Warm and welcoming with great customer service. Dogs are warmly greeted and they even stock dog biscuits for you to purchase for your pup. It's my go-to Venice beach coffee shop. Don't miss out on the Boars Head sandwiches. They are also delicious!
