The 7 Best Affordable Hotels in Tokyo - AFAR

"Located on the 20th to 27th floors of a high-rise, rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and many bay-window seating areas offer some of the best skyline views in the city; the dramatic 19th-floor lobby with high ceilings reinforces the sense of elevation. The 255 rooms are spacious and decorated in soothing blue and green tones, and the hotel’s central Shinbashi-area location puts guests steps from a lively restaurant and izakaya scene. Operated by the Japan Railways Hotel Group, the property reflects the chain’s move from business-focused lodging toward offerings that appeal to leisure travelers." - Yukari Sakamoto

The Blossom Hibiya (Tokyo, Tokyo) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Like its neighborhood, known for its gleaming high-rises and picturesque cherry blossoms, the Blossom Hibiya merges elements of East and West, of modern and traditional. Occupying 27 floors of a sleek, contemporary building — beginning on the 18th-floor lobby, a light-filled space with artfully arranged flowers and elegant Mikawachi-yaki sculptures — this hotel makes the most of its floor-to-ceiling windows, which reveal sweeping views of the Tokyo skyline, the Imperial Palace, and Hibiya Park. Rooms are calm and compact, lined with traditional washi paper and patterned carpets that evoke natural elements from the forest to the sea." - Tablet Hotels

We stayed twice at The Blossom Hibiya and had an excellent experience. The location is very convenient, close to Shimbashi and Hibiya Station, and a metro line, and within walking distance of Ginza. The hotel occupies the upper floors of a high-rise and offers great views, including Tokyo Tower. Our room was compact but well designed, clean, and comfortable, with everything we needed. The guest lounge on the 19th floor has free Nespresso coffee and a vending machine, and the coin laundry is very useful for longer trips. Service was outstanding. Early check-in was offered both times at no extra cost, and the staff helped us receive a pair of glasses that had been forwarded from another hotel, managing the entire process smoothly. We did not try the restaurant, but there are plenty of dining options nearby. Overall, a modern and very comfortable hotel with excellent service and great transport connections — highly recommended for a stay in central Tokyo.

This is one of the best hotels that I have stayed at in Tokyo. First of all, they allow early check-in unlike majority of the hotels in Tokyo where they observe strict check-in time at 3pm. We arrived Blossom around 1pm and was immediately allowed to check-in. Second of all, this trip was meant for our anniversary + birthday and none of the other hotels that we have stayed at gave us anything. The team at Blossom Hibiya gave us this nicely handwritten card which was a thoughtful and heartwarming pleasant surprise. The hotel room itself is spacious for Tokyo standard, it is new and modern, high floors as they are on top of some sort of an office building (L19 - L27) so the view is unblocked. The location is great too as it's just a 3-5mins walk to Ichiran, two main subway stations and 5-8 mins walk to the bustling Ginza area. 10/10 would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to everyone.

Google
Top notch hotel, great staff. Some room can be smaller, but it's Tokyo. Could use update on charging ports in room and less harsh bed side lights. Breakfast is phenomenal and the staff and chefs are committed to delivering a very high quality service. We are coming back to Tokyo and will be staying here for the quiet and quality of this property

Google
Such a great stay at The Blossom Hibiya. The location is central to all of Tokyo and the train station close by was great amenity. You also cannot hear any trains at all from the hotel. The restaurant and bar are great and staff are friendly. Beds are comfy and washroom was fab. Highly recommend staying here!

Loved our stay at The Blossom. Great location - easy walk to the metro which is well connected to many places in Tokyo. Rooms were great, we had two rooms and asked for them to be closed together which was honoured. Room size didn't bother us if you know what to expect - they are always on the small side in Japan. ||We were allowed to check in about 1pm which was really appreciated as we were exhausted from travelling from London. It's a direct one train line from Haneda which makes things easier with luggage etc. We didn't take the breakfast as there is a Lawson and Family Mart within very close proximity as well as a couple of chain cafes. ||As noted in many previous reviews the views are awesome. You do need to take two lifts to the rooms but this really wasn't an issue for us. We enjoyed our stay very much and wouldn't hesitate to book again next time we are in Tokyo.

We had a wonderful stay at THE BLOSSOM HIBIYA. The corner room was spacious and well-designed, with a very comfortable bed, a large bath, and excellent water pressure. Breakfast was outstanding, with a rich selection of Japanese and Western dishes. The 24-hour lounge with complimentary drinks and a Nespresso machine was a great bonus (though it occasionally ran out of water in the mornings). The location is excellent - quiet yet very well-connected. We did notice a mild odor in the room upon arrival, likely from cleaning products, but it faded after a few minutes. We had also requested two single duvets in advance; on arrival the bed had a double duvet plus one single, which wasn’t practical for us, and since housekeeping wasn’t available late at night, we could only get an extra filler that evening. Despite these minor issues, our overall experience was very comfortable and enjoyable - we would gladly stay again.

Google
The hotel is very good for Tokyo. Compared to other hotels we stayed at in this city, it is pricier, given the size of their rooms. The view from the room was spectacular, as good as from Tokyo Tower. They have this “eco-cleaning policy” which was weird to me. They replace the towel (in Europe eco policies would have you reusing the towels at least twice), but they don’t make beds (which per se, it doesn’t require new sheets). All in all it was pleasant.

Excellent high quality hotel. We spent 2 nights here, just after we landed in Tokyo for a family trip. It was an excellent choice for a smooth and indulging “landing into” Tokyo. The hotel is 3-5 minutes from the Shimbashi train station. The lobby is located on the 17th floor with magnificent view of the city and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Yelp
The Blossom Hibiya is a modern, new hotel high atop one of the many skyscrapers in the Shimbashi area with offices below. With large windows that give expansive views of the of Tokyo skyline, we had a nice view of Tokyo Tower by day and night . Conveniently located near Ginza and Yurakucho, it has proximity to a lot including the Imperial Palace. Rooms are spacious, clean and well designed with plugs and light switches where you want them. There is an iPad to look up information which is connected to the tv which you can change to English and watch CNN ! The disabled in our group were grateful for the shower and bath options that come in each room. Beds are super comfy with high threadcount sheets and soba kawa as well as regular pillows. Buffet beakfast included serves Japanese and Western options with the best selection of blended teas and fresh sorbet! Yes for breakfast! But don't forget your breakfast coupon or you will have to get another reissued! Staff is young, very International and can speak English. We had a very comfortable stay!

Yelp
We stayed at the Blossom for 4 nights and loved everything about it. The views were incredible, and the room was very nice. However, it was quite small, and I wish they had included more storage options--no drawers and no space for an open suitcase. But still, it was super modern, clean, and close to multiple train stations--super convenient! The breakfast was delicious, the gym was great, and the staff was incredibly nice. They even offered luggage shipping, so our suitcases went straight to Kyoto, hassle-free. I'd definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here! Front desk staff were helpful, for what you paid views were nice beds were comfy, room was clean and a moderately nice size for japan. The lounge was incredible and entering it after a long day out was such a relief. The location is nice (nearby Shimbashi station with easy access to Yamanoto line) but a bit dark and quiet after a certain time. Overall loved our stay!

Yelp
We stayed here our last night in Tokyo on March 27, 2023. Location: The location was good, about a 7 minute walk to Shimbashi station, which has both the local metro and JR lines. The Shimbashi station is only about 10 minutes away from Tokyo station by metro or JR. However, it is not located in the heart of Ginza, which is about 1 metro stop away. Customer Service (Check-In): When we checked in, we discovered that the hotel had the wrong reservation for our room. They insisted that we had only booked a room with a double bed, so we pulled up our booking confirmation for the king room, and explained that we had booked the room for our Honeymoon, and would not have booked a double bed. After reviewing our confirmation, the concierge was able to give us a king room, but did not explain why the booking was incorrect. However, the front desk was polite, and this was not the reason for the poor rating; just a caution to have your reservation on hand when you check in. Room (Size and View): The room was small, but that was expected. The bathroom is poorly laid out with a basin sink and minimal counter space. We booked the room for the view, which was nice, but is partially obstructed by a weird ledge covered in rocks that protruded from the bottom of the window. Rooms (Cleanliness): When we got our room the door was propped open, so we weren't sure if it was ready for us, or occupied. This was unsettling, but we knocked, and it appeared empty and looked like it had been cleaned. However, as soon as we set our things down we noticed an odor (like a body odor) throughout the room. We turned up the air purifier in the room and hoped it would dissipate while we were out. When we returned to the room late that night, the odor was much more pungent and seemed to permeate the entire room. We sprayed down the entire room with air/fabric refresher, but the odor did not go away. We considered asking to change rooms, but it was already past midnight and we knew the other king rooms were booked up. We definitely regret not asking for a room change because the smell got worse as the night went on and ended up keeping us up most of the night. Further, when I went to shower that evening, I noticed that there was mildew at the base of the bath tub. It clearly had been growing there for a while because it covered a triangle section that was about 2-3 inches tall and 4-5 inches across. In addition, when I went to towel off after showering that evening, I saw that there were black splotches on the bath towel (like makeup residue). So between the propped open door, pungent odor, mildew, and dirty bath towel, I really sincerely wonder if the room had been properly cleaned. Amenities: The Blossom had the least amenities of any hotels we've stayed at. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but no lotion. They do not provide any bottles of water, hot water boiler, tea, or coffee. They also do not provide any robes. All of our prior hotels in Japan (even much lower priced ones) had provided those amenities (and much more). Customer Service (Check-Out): Check out was simple. However, while checking out, we asked if they could call a taxi since it was raining. The concierge informed us that if they called a taxi they would charge a 420 yen pick up fee. We had several prior hotels and restaurants call us a taxi inside and outside of Tokyo and were never charged a pick up fee. We have no idea why there was an additional charge for a pick up from the Blossom, and they did not give us any explanation, so we opted to find our own taxi. Conclusion: For the price of this hotel, I would have expected much more. We stayed at 4 other hotels during our stay in Japan, and this by far was our least favorite. We were glad we had only booked a night at the tail end of our trip, and this hotel made us glad to be heading home.
