The 7 Best Affordable Hotels in Tokyo - AFAR

"Located on the 20th to 27th floors of a high-rise, rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and many bay-window seating areas offer some of the best skyline views in the city; the dramatic 19th-floor lobby with high ceilings reinforces the sense of elevation. The 255 rooms are spacious and decorated in soothing blue and green tones, and the hotel’s central Shinbashi-area location puts guests steps from a lively restaurant and izakaya scene. Operated by the Japan Railways Hotel Group, the property reflects the chain’s move from business-focused lodging toward offerings that appeal to leisure travelers." - Yukari Sakamoto

The Blossom Hibiya (Tokyo, Tokyo) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Like its neighborhood, known for its gleaming high-rises and picturesque cherry blossoms, the Blossom Hibiya merges elements of East and West, of modern and traditional. Occupying 27 floors of a sleek, contemporary building — beginning on the 18th-floor lobby, a light-filled space with artfully arranged flowers and elegant Mikawachi-yaki sculptures — this hotel makes the most of its floor-to-ceiling windows, which reveal sweeping views of the Tokyo skyline, the Imperial Palace, and Hibiya Park. Rooms are calm and compact, lined with traditional washi paper and patterned carpets that evoke natural elements from the forest to the sea." - Tablet Hotels

It exceeded our expectations. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, just what you need after a long flight and suffering jet lag. The staff were incredible attentive and kind. Amazing views to the city and excellent location (15 min walking from Ginza and Tokyo Tower!). Very quiet rooms!

This was our first hotel in Japan, and we had a great experience. The location is great, outside of the crazy tourist places, and is super well connected too, at least we found an easy transport connection to all the places we wanted to visit. The breakfast is great, go full Japanese for the meal, the food is great 🤤 and will leave you full for a full day of sight seeing (except you'll want to eat something else anyway, because there's so many nice food places 😅). The service was also extremely nice and helpful, particularly when we wanted to send our luggage to Kyoto ahead of us. Complimentary water in the room everyday which was nice.

We recently stayed at The Blossom Hibiya in Tokyo and overall had a pleasant experience. The hotel is conveniently located, the breakfast selection was very good, and the common areas and corridors are beautifully decorated. Our room was comfortable and offered a lovely view over the city, which we greatly enjoyed.||Housekeeping was a bit different from what we are used to, as the beds were only made every three days. If this is standard practice in Japan, it is understandable, and it did not cause us any major inconvenience.||The main drawback of our stay was the bathroom. Unfortunately, there were visible signs of mold on the walls, and one of the floor tiles was broken. This resulted in my daughter cutting her toes on our very first day, which was quite disappointing considering the level of comfort and quality expected from a hotel of this category.||In summary, The Blossom Hibiya offers a good stay with nice views, a great breakfast, and tasteful interiors. However, improved maintenance of the bathrooms is definitely needed to meet the otherwise high standards of the hotel.

We stayed at The Blossom Hibiya for a week and had a fantastic experience. The rooms are compact—as is typical in Tokyo—but beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and very comfortable. We were fortunate to have stunning views over the city from our room, and the lobby also offers breathtaking panoramic vistas, especially at night. The large guest lounge on level 19 was a great space to relax, especially for larger groups. It included tea and coffee facilities, along with the convenient option to purchase frozen pizzas for a quick and easy in-room meal. The on-site laundry facilities were also a major plus during our extended stay. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of options, though we only made use of it once. The bar is a lovely spot for a quiet evening drink—my only fault was the limited opening hours, as it’s only available in the evenings. The true standout was the staff—always warm, professional, and eager to help. A stylish, well-located hotel with thoughtful amenities and sweeping city views.

We had a really nice stay at The Blossom Hibiya in Tokyo. The location is super convenient with just a short walk from Shimbashi Station and really close to Ginza, so it was easy to get around and explore. The hotel lobby is up on the 18th floor, which gives you some great views right when you walk in. Rooms are on floors 19 to 27, and we stayed in a King Suite, which was spacious and comfortable. We saw some of the regular rooms while walking by and they did look pretty small, so if space is important to you, the upgrade is probably worth it. There are laundry rooms on two floors, and the washer/dryer is a combo unit that automatically adds detergen, so you can even check on the TV to see which machines are in use and how much time is left. Super convenient! The hotel also has a free drink lounge, which was a nice bonus, and there’s even a pizza vending machine. If you follow their Instagram account, you can check out at noon instead of 11 AM without any extra charge. There’s a small gym, but it’s pretty basic. The free weights only go up to 10kg, and there’s just one weight machine. It’s okay for a light workout, but not great if you’re serious about lifting. The only downside we noticed was the train noise. Since the hotel is right by the station, you can definitely hear the trains, especially at night. If you’re a light sleeper, that might be a bit of an issue. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and we would stay at this hotel if we're ever back in Japan.

Absolutely love the hotel. Room size is decent for Japan. The view is amazing. All staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The best of all is the breakfast. I’m just excited to wake up early for breakfast everyday throughout my 7-night stay. Thank you very much for making my Tokyo experience so magical!

This is an amazing hotel in a prime location, just a few minutes' walk to the Ginza shopping area and numerous restaurants. The convenience is unparalleled, with a FamilyMart on-site at the 2nd floor. Also supermarket (Lawson) directly opposite the hotel's entrance.Complimentary soft drinks, coffee, and tea are available on the 19th floor. For laundry, there are facilities on the 20th and 24th floors. It is very family-friendly, the views are breathtaking, and I highly recommend it.

Incredible views of Tokyo from the high floors of this hotel. Room sizes are typical of Japan, not the biggest but I would say slightly larger than the standard Japanese sized hotel rooms. I could open my suitcase fully 😂. Service was great, gym could have a bit more but the fact that there is a gym is great. Breakfast is pretty decent too, but you will probably get bored of it after 3 days or so since Japan has so much to offer. Location is superb. Extremely close to the metro. Would definitely return.

Yelp
The Blossom Hibiya is a modern, new hotel high atop one of the many skyscrapers in the Shimbashi area with offices below. With large windows that give expansive views of the of Tokyo skyline, we had a nice view of Tokyo Tower by day and night . Conveniently located near Ginza and Yurakucho, it has proximity to a lot including the Imperial Palace. Rooms are spacious, clean and well designed with plugs and light switches where you want them. There is an iPad to look up information which is connected to the tv which you can change to English and watch CNN ! The disabled in our group were grateful for the shower and bath options that come in each room. Beds are super comfy with high threadcount sheets and soba kawa as well as regular pillows. Buffet beakfast included serves Japanese and Western options with the best selection of blended teas and fresh sorbet! Yes for breakfast! But don't forget your breakfast coupon or you will have to get another reissued! Staff is young, very International and can speak English. We had a very comfortable stay!

Yelp
We stayed at the Blossom for 4 nights and loved everything about it. The views were incredible, and the room was very nice. However, it was quite small, and I wish they had included more storage options--no drawers and no space for an open suitcase. But still, it was super modern, clean, and close to multiple train stations--super convenient! The breakfast was delicious, the gym was great, and the staff was incredibly nice. They even offered luggage shipping, so our suitcases went straight to Kyoto, hassle-free. I'd definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our stay here! Front desk staff were helpful, for what you paid views were nice beds were comfy, room was clean and a moderately nice size for japan. The lounge was incredible and entering it after a long day out was such a relief. The location is nice (nearby Shimbashi station with easy access to Yamanoto line) but a bit dark and quiet after a certain time. Overall loved our stay!

Yelp
We stayed here our last night in Tokyo on March 27, 2023. Location: The location was good, about a 7 minute walk to Shimbashi station, which has both the local metro and JR lines. The Shimbashi station is only about 10 minutes away from Tokyo station by metro or JR. However, it is not located in the heart of Ginza, which is about 1 metro stop away. Customer Service (Check-In): When we checked in, we discovered that the hotel had the wrong reservation for our room. They insisted that we had only booked a room with a double bed, so we pulled up our booking confirmation for the king room, and explained that we had booked the room for our Honeymoon, and would not have booked a double bed. After reviewing our confirmation, the concierge was able to give us a king room, but did not explain why the booking was incorrect. However, the front desk was polite, and this was not the reason for the poor rating; just a caution to have your reservation on hand when you check in. Room (Size and View): The room was small, but that was expected. The bathroom is poorly laid out with a basin sink and minimal counter space. We booked the room for the view, which was nice, but is partially obstructed by a weird ledge covered in rocks that protruded from the bottom of the window. Rooms (Cleanliness): When we got our room the door was propped open, so we weren't sure if it was ready for us, or occupied. This was unsettling, but we knocked, and it appeared empty and looked like it had been cleaned. However, as soon as we set our things down we noticed an odor (like a body odor) throughout the room. We turned up the air purifier in the room and hoped it would dissipate while we were out. When we returned to the room late that night, the odor was much more pungent and seemed to permeate the entire room. We sprayed down the entire room with air/fabric refresher, but the odor did not go away. We considered asking to change rooms, but it was already past midnight and we knew the other king rooms were booked up. We definitely regret not asking for a room change because the smell got worse as the night went on and ended up keeping us up most of the night. Further, when I went to shower that evening, I noticed that there was mildew at the base of the bath tub. It clearly had been growing there for a while because it covered a triangle section that was about 2-3 inches tall and 4-5 inches across. In addition, when I went to towel off after showering that evening, I saw that there were black splotches on the bath towel (like makeup residue). So between the propped open door, pungent odor, mildew, and dirty bath towel, I really sincerely wonder if the room had been properly cleaned. Amenities: The Blossom had the least amenities of any hotels we've stayed at. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, but no lotion. They do not provide any bottles of water, hot water boiler, tea, or coffee. They also do not provide any robes. All of our prior hotels in Japan (even much lower priced ones) had provided those amenities (and much more). Customer Service (Check-Out): Check out was simple. However, while checking out, we asked if they could call a taxi since it was raining. The concierge informed us that if they called a taxi they would charge a 420 yen pick up fee. We had several prior hotels and restaurants call us a taxi inside and outside of Tokyo and were never charged a pick up fee. We have no idea why there was an additional charge for a pick up from the Blossom, and they did not give us any explanation, so we opted to find our own taxi. Conclusion: For the price of this hotel, I would have expected much more. We stayed at 4 other hotels during our stay in Japan, and this by far was our least favorite. We were glad we had only booked a night at the tail end of our trip, and this hotel made us glad to be heading home.
