The Big R Restaurant

I ordered for delivery, fish bites, chips deluxe. I'm disappointed with my meal. Everything looked great, until I went to eat the fish bites. My fish bites were mostly batter. I can't believe that the restaurant would let that leave as an order. Also, the complete order took over 1 hr and 30 mins to come, and I actually had to call to see, how much longer, the order was going to be. I believe it was really busy there, but the time it took to come, and the fish being mostly batter, with very little, to no fish inside, is shameful. This is the first time I've ordered from here, and I really think it is the last. Don't waste your money here, its not worth it. The phone call was filled with crackling and static, on their side. Just stay away.

First visit off a recommendations from my girlfriend. She used to come here as a kid with her dad. A young girl with braids welcomed us and asked if we were dining in . We were approached and asked for drinks right away . My coffee came and it was a very big mug , it was appreciated. We both ordered the classic breakfast and I had a side of bologna. Everything tasted very good from the home fries, eggs , toast etc. The young girl serving us was very nice and welcoming and pleasant. During our time here we watched her sit customers, clean tables, offer refills to everyone and she even went out front to clear snow. I think she even helped in the kitchen, heard her mentioned to another customer. She definitely deserves a raise !!! We will be back because of her and the good breakfast.

This was the first time in many years when we choose something other than Chinese food for New Year’s Eve dinner. We ordered 8 meals of fish and chips. I specifically asked for tartar sauce and indicated that we had 8 dishes so please keep that in mind. Normally you would get around 3 packs of tarter space. We were short changed on tartar sauce. Very disappointed. The portion as well was small. They are known for large portions but not tonight.

Ordered 4 meals, three large wings and chips and a hamburger platter with sides of gravy, Hamburger was fine, the wings and all the french fries were very dark in colour and very hard. You actually couldn’t eat them so Put them back in the paper bags and put them on the kitchen counter called the Big R , Spoke to a lady explained the situation. She said the manager will call me the next morning. Food sat on the counter for two days. Manager didn’t call, So I called back Friday morning three days later girl answer the phone said the manager Is in so she would put him on the phone explain the situation again. He said he didn’t call back because we threw the food in the garbage and he was tired of getting scam calls. don’t understand where he got. We threw the food in the garbage never said that to the girl I was talking to in the beginning. He was very rude And basically accused me of trying to scam him I was very upset. Told him I would never eat there again and we never will not how you treat your customers we eat there Often and also take out our meals,but will never ever give them our business again.

Fantastic place for fish and chips. Batter was crisp and not to bready with big pieces of fish. Fries with dressing and gravy was delicious

Bought seafood chowder a a few more items came to $50 food was slapped together anyway at all this is what they are charging people 10 bucks for not real seafood chowder at all looks and tastes like a mix

I find the oil the fries and fish is cooked in was old. It makes it for an unpleasant meal even though the fish was very good I noticed this the previous two visits. We've asked them when they change the oil they say they do it daily but I really don't think so. Yes even though it's fast food it should be fresh food.

Is a perfect place to eat good fish and chips. Good chicken, And the fries are perfect. I had a club sandwich and it was worth eating. Ketchup does not come on the fries I put them on
