On the Grid : The Bernard Shaw

"All encompassing fun times emporium, the Bernard Shaw has become a standard for which many others have tried to emulate. A laid back combination of art space, venue and outdoor area, it’s hard to find a spot so well equipped for any occasion. The icing on the cake is the Big Blue Bus, a double-decker bus that sits out back and dishes out delicious, affordable pizzas to have with your drinks. Top stuff." - It's Okay

This pub is awesome and very affordable. Nice place and plenty of tables. I liked that the food here is affordable and good portions. Crisps and nachos are also reasonably priced. Liked the ambience and for 17 euro octoberfest ticket got 1 large beer + a pretzel. This place is big and also value for money.

The Bernard Shaw Pub is a vibrant spot in Dublin with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pints typically cost between €6–€8, which is in line with city prices. The ambience is casual and lively, with colorful décor and often a soundtrack of local chatter or live music. What really stands out, though, is the staff—friendly, attentive, and quick with a smile (and a recommendation if you’re unsure what to order!). Whether you’re popping in for one drink or settling in for the evening, it’s a great place to enjoy a well-poured pint in a relaxed, social setting.

We just enjoyed an amazing first ever Drag Brunch with Kiki and Eircome! My sister loved Kiki’s style (“she’s amazing!) and I loved Eircome’s quick wit and vibe. The service was fantastic from I think Laura? They couldn’t have done more to accommodate us, so I would highly recommend x

Had an amazing evening at The Bernard Shaw, made even better by our fantastic waiter, Cain. From the get-go, he was friendly, quick with a laugh, and made us feel totally at home. It’s not every day you get service that feels this genuine. I went for a burger and a pint of Guinness. Simple, classic, and absolutely spot on. Cain checked in just enough to make sure everything was perfect, without ever interrupting the flow of conversation. It’s clear he takes pride in what he does, and his good vibes really elevated the whole experience. Top-tier service, great food, perfect pint. Big thanks to Cain for making our visit such a pleasure. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a fantastic time at the Drag Brunch 🥰 It was great fun and so entertainment, The Queens were fantastic and so professional. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They also have an outdoor food market ( we didn't eat anything from it, but it looks amazing ( from what we people see others were being served) we definitely went to go back to try that for sure. The food we had was fab to very tasty. And the chocolate Milk Shake was very nice. For our first time being at a Drag Brunch, we were very impressed and entertained. We will definitely be back again

Shockingly bad beef pie with mash. How the kitchen could serve this and not be embarrassed. Mash was watery, probably instant and the beef pie was the same as you would buy in a service station. No discernable pieces of meat. Served with extra instant gravy on the side.

Went in shortly after 11pm on a Saturday. Stood at the bar for 25 minutes - no eye contact from any of the bar staff who may have been glitchy robots such was their lack of interaction with customers. There were others there in front of me who were quietly seething as they had been waiting on service for a lot longer. Then some idiots starting mashing a cake in each others' faces, getting the back of my jacket in the process. Walked out, never to return. Joke of a place.
