"Call ahead and owners Patrick and Sophie will pick you up and bring you to their relaxed island restaurant and only non-hotel bar in Rangiroa. The small plates menu is limited, but what is offered tastes delicious and is quite impressive (think charcuterie from Spain and France or more simple crepes) considering the middle of nowhere location. What the menu lacks in variety, the booze concoctions more than make up for. The cocktail menu is extensive and there are even beer choices from around the globe, another impressive feat considering the locale. There is also a good dessert selection. Te Mao is also very popular with locals, who come for socializing, free wifi, and maybe some karaoke after dark."

Wow, from walking in, being received, the food and the service. I don't know where to begin. I'll say it simply, come enjoy, even get picked up at your pension or hotel. Excellent evening spent at Te Mao. Will do again. Hopefully soon!

This bar is so trendy. It is in this beautiful backyard with a bunch of outdoor seating, a manicured garden, and cool sculptures with great lighting. I could see it in some metropolitan city as a great break from the big city life but no it's in tiny Rangiora The bar is owned by a husband and wife who noticed a need whole one their honeymoon years ago. If you call for a hotel pickup, it's the husband who comes and gets you. The bar is stocked with true Belgium. It was really impressive. I don't know the connection but I enjoyed it. There are a couple of tapas that the wife makes here self. There is a cheese platter: decent. The real gems are the meat platters. There is a land meat platter that has fun prepations of pork, beef, chicken, and even Kangaroo! The fish platter was even more spectacular.

We had one of the tasties meals we have had in a long at this hidden gem. Sophie combines flavors with amazing results. We had the meat and fish plates and every bite was delicious. My favorite was the raw fish with passionfruit topped with wasabi cream. Patrick and Sophie are wonderful hosts. Who would have thought you could have a gourmet meal on a tiny atol in the middle of the Pacific ocean.

Visited this amazing restaurant twice while in Rangiroa. The owners are simply amazing and the food is great. They will cater to all your needs. Patrick will even pick you up from your hotel. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant while in town.
