It is easy to see how this place had a 2024 Michelin mention. The food was crafted with sophistication and thoughtfulness. The olive bites were an absolute revelation and the fish was fresh and savory. A definite must if you are in town. Prices were extremely competitive too

Excellent food and service. Chili and lime oysters were great. The lobster linguine was delicious and for main we took a spotted sea bream which was cooked and cleaned to perfection. Fine dining at a fair price.

We ate here today, a family of 4. On our way to the restaurant our driver explained this is the restaurant to gain points with his wife, this started to set our expectations. We had the prawn carpaccio, the tuna carpaccio and squid to start, already the best meal we had eaten in our week in Malta. It followed with red snapper and John dory as a main which also failed to disappoint, both beautifully cooked. The food was exceptional, the staff (family run) were a delight, our waitress recommended a white wine to go with the meal, and she nailed it. I can't recommend this enough.

I've no idea what the octopus was encased in but it was flipping delicious, as were the mini fish burgers. In terms of main course, a selection of fish is presented to you at the table (I opted for the Black Spot Bream) before it is cooked to perfection, its so fresh it probably still had a heartbeat. Once cooked, it's filleted then served at the table. The food was outstanding, and the local wine selection very good. Definately worth a visit if you're in the area. Booking in advance is essential.

The food was very good. My problem was when they move the fish it splashes everything imagine eating and getting fish juice in your food not a good look. Some of their dishware is chipped as well they just need to change it.

We had an amazing experience at Tartarun Fish Restaurant! The staff was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor, showcasing the freshest ingredients prepared to perfection. Although we weren't seated outside with a view of the boats, the quality of the food and the overall experience more than made up for it. The ambiance inside was warm and inviting, adding to our enjoyment of the meal. The wine list was impressive as well, offering a great selection that perfectly complemented the dishes. We highly recommend Tartarun to anyone visiting Marsaxlokk for an unforgettable dining experience!

A group of 7 of us lunched here yesterday. A beautiful restaurant looking out along the harbour. We didn't book but arrived at 12 and got a table with a lovely view.The lady who attended to us was just incredibly nice, helpful and fun. The food impressed all 7 and our vegetarian friend was pleased with the dish worked out best for her. The value was incredible and it was the perfect way to round off our holiday. Our taxi driver had told us that you can't get a bad meal in the village - pretty sure we found the best place.
