Taqueria Diana is a chill taqueria where you can feast on hefty burritos and loaded nachos while sipping $3 Tecates on a sunny patio.
"What It Is: A casual Mexican spot in Williamsburg with a long mezcal menu and some outdoor seating Perfect For: Outdoor/Patio Situation, Quick Eats Taqueria Diana’s newest location on Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg serves giant burritos and loaded nachos like their original spot, but unlike the East Village location, we’ve never seen this place crowded. On a recent Friday night, we ordered at the counter downstairs, and had no trouble getting one of the tables on the upstairs outdoor patio. We wouldn’t hang out here and drink expensive mezcal (they have a lot of those), but it’s open till 1am every day, so it’s a good option for a burrito and a beer on your way home. The Verdict: Come here for some quick and filling Mexican food and $3 Tecates." - hannah albertine, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, chris stang, matt tervooren
"Don’t let the name fool you, this is where you should be spending your money on burritos. Specifically, al pastor burritos that are exactly what you need after a particularly bad day/week/hour. This is a place that even your roommate from San Francisco will approve of." - hannah albertine, matt tervooren
"Started by Californians in 2013, this small East Village taqueria slings reliable tacos, burritos, and nachos that have gained a cult following, allowing the restaurant to expand across the city. Nachos come in six varieties, splayed out on a metal tray for even topping distribution. The crisp, tender carnitas are heaped on the chips with melted Jack, beans, pickled jalapeños and carrots, salsa, plus optional crema and guacamole. There are additional locations in Hell’s Kitchen, Lower East Side, and Williamsburg." - Paul Schrodt
"Some things are better late at night. Like scary movies, reruns of Frasier, and Taqueria Diana. That’s when this place tastes best. So the next time it’s 11pm and you’re irrationally hungry, pull up the menu, and order quickly before you stare too long at the selection and wind up with a cart full of nachos, tacos, quesadillas, and several burritos. Then again, that isn’t the worst-case scenario, as long as one of those burritos is al pastor." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
"If you want to lay down a solid base of food before bar hopping from tequila shot to High Life around Williamsburg, order some giant burritos and loaded nachos at Taqueria Diana. They have a nice outdoor patio upstairs where you can drink $3 Tecates and eat giant, $10 burritos, and it’s across the street from The Commodore, one of our favorite bars in the neighborhood (see above)." - bryan kim, matt tervooren
