Came with a group of 5 so got to sample many different items on the menu. From a value for experience, felt that Takja definitely delivered on what we expected coming in. I loved the Hangar Steak, but some of the best bites we had were the Iberico Pork, as well as the super crispy seafood pancakes. Highly recommend! Will be back again for sure.

Phenomenal experience, ordered the hansang & every single item was thoughtfully presented. Even things I didn’t think I would like, were delicious (not usually into mushrooms for example). My favorite was the aged hanger, surprisingly tender & very flavorful . All the staff were welcoming & attentive. Well worth the splurge/can’t wait to go back

The service here is outstanding—attentive and friendly throughout. Their ventilation system is also exceptional; none of my clothes or hair smelled like BBQ afterward, which is rare and much appreciated.
For appetizers, we started with the seafood pancake. It was beautifully presented and wonderfully crispy, though I wish it had a stronger seafood flavor. Still, it was enjoyable overall.
For mains, we ordered the short rib galbi, hanger steak, and shrimp. The hanger steak was incredibly tender and flavorful, while the short rib, though tasty, was a bit tough. As for the shrimp, I’d recommend skipping it. The panchans were a highlight of the meal—especially the pickled jalapeños, which added a spicy kick.
We also tried the clam sujebi noodle soup. The broth was flavorful on its own, without needing the additional seasoning provided, and the noodles had a satisfyingly chewy texture. However, the dish could have been elevated with the addition of actual clams.
To finish, we had the grapefruit bingsu. While the syrup was a little thick, the yogurt meringue was delightful, and the dessert was a refreshing end to the meal.
Overall, I’d definitely return to explore other cuts of beef, pork, and dishes. The staff was fantastic and truly made the experience memorable!

This is a high-end Korean BBQ restaurant, a great spot to treat yourself after work on a Friday. The sea urchin seafood pancake is quite innovative, and the wagyu beef has excellent quality. The Korean bingsu is incredibly milky, smooth, and absolutely delicious. The only downside is that the white wine selection is mostly on the dry side.

Takja in Toronto is hands down one of the best Korean dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were attentive and friendly. But the real star of the show was the food — absolutely outstanding! Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, authentic, and perfectly prepared.
The highlight for me was the corn bingsoo we had for dessert. It was such a unique twist on a classic Korean dessert, and I can't stop thinking about it. Sweet, creamy, and refreshingly different — an absolute must-try!
If you're in Toronto and craving Korean cuisine, Takja is the place to go. Amazing food, excellent service, and a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!

Visited when they had newly opened around May and there were some highlights and lowlights. We ordered the set menu for two and were very full by the end of it. The highlights were the wagyu, the grilled veggies, and the perilla oil noodles at the end. The seafood pancake was also good and the uni was extremely fresh (our server informed us that they got the shipment only an hour before our seating which was lucky timing) but the presentation was weird because they served us 2 quarters cut from a whole pancake lol. Maybe they should just make smaller pancakes and do a double serving for tables of 4?
Worst part of the experience was how hectic it was. Servers were running around flipping people’s meat and it was hard to watch our meat get overcooked as our server just dipped on us as forgot. My partner ended up just flipping the meat but it’s so awkward waiting around not knowing if we should just do it ourselves. Beef doesn’t take that long to cook so they should at least stay for the whole cooking time for each cut.
The dessert bingsu was nice and overall food was enjoyable, just felt way too anxious from the service during this meal.

Great food, service, and atmosphere.
The seafood pancake, Iberico Pluma, and coffee Bingsoo were my favourites. Everything was really good overall.

When you're in the mood for a more upscale kbbq Takja is the place. Plus they do all the cooking for you! I recommend the Hansang so you get try multiple cuts of their inhouse cured meats. As much as I loved the grilled meats, the banchan sides stole the show for me. The Bingsoo is a perfect way to end the meal in a light refreshing way.
