I would like to start by thanking Mr. Ved, the manager, Mr. Shahji for arranging the cabs, and the housekeeping and concierge teams, including Shraddha, Kriti (Housekeeping Manager), and the rest of the staff. We had a truly wonderful welcome at Taj New Delhi, which made our stay memorable from the very beginning. We stayed in India for three weeks and this was the first hotel that gave us such a warm and personal welcome, including the tikka, garland, and aarti. Despite staying in other five-star hotels during our trip, Taj was the only one to offer such a special gesture.||Mr. Ved personally greeted us, and the team was attentive to our needs, recognizing how tired we were from our long journey. The check-in process was smooth and convenient, as they completed it in our room, which was perfect. My 7-year-old was thrilled with the room, and to our surprise, we were upgraded to a larger room, even though we had booked the Taj Club Executive King Bed. The view from the room was breathtaking, overlooking the garden and pool. The cleanliness and overall feel of the hotel were exceptional. During our three-week trip, this was the only hotel that was spotless and so welcoming.||We also appreciated the little gifts left by housekeeping every two days, which was a lovely touch. Although we had executive lounge access, we only used it a couple of times. On the other days, when we returned late after shopping and missed the happy hours, they graciously offered us complimentary coffee and Coke, which was very thoughtful.||Now, moving on to the restaurant experience, there were some areas for improvement. As a five-star hotel, especially one like Taj, we expected a grander breakfast selection. Unfortunately, the menu was the same every day, and I was disappointed to find no seasonal fruits like guavas, especially considering it was the season for them. I requested guavas daily, as I didn’t want to eat the same melons and apples I could easily find in Australia. Additionally, the service in the restaurant could use some improvement. On our first day, no one acknowledged us, and my child had to wait 30 minutes for his breakfast. After we complained, someone came to apologize, stating they had missed his order.||There was also an incident that left a bad taste. During breakfast, one of the assistant managers, named Rachminder (apologies if I misspelled it), gave a Christmas headband to another child in front of my own child. I felt this was unfair, and if there’s a personal connection, such gestures should be done discreetly, rather than in front of another child, which felt inconsiderate.||Overall, despite some challenges with the restaurant staff and food variety, we had a wonderful time at the Taj. The hospitality, housekeeping, and special touches made our stay truly memorable. I would definitely recommend the Taj for its exceptional service and beautiful accommodations, though I believe the restaurant experience could be improved to match the high standards of the rest of the hotel.
