Mama mia. Best Guacamole I have ever had. The only thing that would have made my visit perfect, if the waitress would have allowed me to change my drink order from a skinny margarita to a margarita flight. She said the bartender had already made my drink so she couldn't change my order. 🥴🍸🍹🍹

The food was delicious and the service was great. They have a nice atmosphere that I am sure of during the cooler months feels great. The only negative was that we made reservations days in advance, and the table was not ready on time, and the table we sat at was small and uncomfortable for five of us. However, We Will Be Back!

Upscale Mexican spot where you can still dress casually. Came here twice - once with my family, and once with my boyfriend. Both times, made a reservation online in advance in order to avoid waiting for a table (as this restaurant is popular). My main complaint is that both times here, the beans have been watery. Otherwise, the food is decent. My shrimp tacos fell apart as the tortillas weren’t strong enough but the shrimp fajitas were tasty. The calamari is a good choice for an appetizer if you’re hungry, otherwise, I would go with the crab cakes. Credit cards accepted. Indoor and outdoor dining available. It’s good for big groups. Public parking available in a garage a block or so away.

I love this place. So nice for food and drinks. It has many vegan options as well. Even tho not every things that is vegan is marked on the menu. So there is more than you might see at the first look. Also the staff is super friendly and make sure you get everything you need to enjoy you food. Very good combination between traditional and more modern Mexican food. In the evening it gets quite busy so a reservation would be a good idea.

This was our first time at Tac/Quila in Palm Springs. The restaurant has a spacious indoor and outdoor seating area and looks really nice. With its high ratings and a Michelin recommendation, we had high expectations. We started with the nachos with carne asada, which were amazing. I had the grilled lobster tacos—tasty, but much smaller than what the online menu showed. Our waiter recommended the short rib enchilada to my husband, but he couldn’t finish it because it lacked flavor—just a lot of meat. My sister and brother tried the street tacos and roasted poblano peppers, and thought they were just okay. They were surprised this place had a Michelin nod. The margaritas were decent though!

Amazing food, drinks, atmosphere, and service. The battered avocado bites were cooked perfectly and the poblano pepper had so much flavor. They even offered us house made sauces that were better than anything you can get in a bottle. This is a must if you are in Palm Springs and love flavor. Amazing vegan options as well.

Overpriced and tasteless, food quality similar to chain restaurants at twice the price. I know Palm Springs is expensive, but this place takes the cake for poor ratio of quality to price. I don't mind spending for high quality (or even decent) food, this place is not that. Ordered the roasted Poblano pepper, which was totally bland. Interesting ingredients but no taste. The salsas were the equivalent to jarred salsa to me. Granted, I live in CA and have access to many authentic Mexican restaurants of all price levels. This places just screams that it's owned by a restaurant group and the entire environment was focus-grouped, with no attention paid to the food only the space. Maybe people that visit PS like bland food and don't care, judging from the high reviews for this place that's possible. Margaritas were quite tasty, ordered a flight. Tasty margs with well liquor didn't redeem the food. Two stars instead of one since the place was located close to our hotel, had nice art, and the bartenders/servers were nice.

I really enjoyed Tac/Quila on my trip to Palm Springs. The margarita was tasty and I loved the enchiladas! It was my first meal in the city and it was the perfect place to start. Of course it was very hot as I went in the middle of July, but the restaurant was cooled off very well and the staff was very attentive to any needs I had. Great service and vibes!

I'm gonna have to go 5 stars with the review. We had a reservation and were seated outside in the back patio. This was our first time and we will be back the next time we visit Palm Springs. The bar area is very sexy. Food and service were great. The calamari' appetizer was very tasty and the shrimp mojo de ajo with the diablo sauce on the side was soooooo good. We also had good drinks and a very attentive server.

We ordered the Birria tacos and enchiladas! The food was delicious but not something amazing. We are from Texas so I am comparing it to our local Tex-Mex cuisine. The presentation of the food and ambiance of the restaurant was spectacular. It felt very modern and classy. When we went, they were very packed but they were able to accommodate us very quickly.

Made a reservation for a Friday night, and we were seated right away with a choice of 2 tables upon arrival. We picked one closer to the street for a little breeze and people watching. Our server greeted us fairly quickly. We started with drinks and chips/salsa/guac. I did the spicy refescado. It was definitely refreshing, but I probably would do something different next time. The chips and salsa were good - the guacamole maybe needed just a bit more cilantro (which I know can be a touchy subject). After that, we ordered the lobster tacos, quesadilla trio, and one of the enchilada dishes (chicken I think, but I didn't eat those). I shared the other two dishes. I would say that both were good, but having so much Mexican in San Diego, they didn't stand out. Service was pretty good. Overall the experience was nice, and as far as Palm Springs goes, it is definitely one of the better spots I have been.

Do yourself a favor, turn around right now, walk across the street and go somewhere else. I've been waiting a long time to try this place. We found ourselves in Palm Springs for a mid week getaway and made this our priority night #1. Is it pretty? Absolutely. It has bar seating, street seating, a semi outdoor seating and of course indoors. The drinks coming out from the bar were gorgeous and we could not wait. We started off we a margarita flight (Pineapple Passion, Watermelon, Prickly Pear and Spicy Refrescado) and a classic refrescado. They were mediocre at best. The refrescado has cucumber water in it, they don't lie. It tasted like a watered down margarita. My husband gave the flight about a 6/10 on a scale of deliciousness. We weren't impressed by the drinks which weren't on the cheap side for the size and quality. We ordered the taco chips because every photo on yelp looked pretty good... they were not. They consisted of a half filled (beans... where were the beans), overly fried tortilla chips and 3 sides of dipping sauce ( guacamole, a green salsa which was fine, and what we could only describe as tomato soup?). Try it if you must...

We were seated right away in the inner courtyard. Really nice waiter and staff checking on us continuously... they cared. Creative dishes. Cozy garden and beautiful plant wall. The food presentation was spectacular as was the food. Wonderful cocktails, refreshing and stiff ! I can't wait to be back that way. THE FOOD: Shrimp Nachos - hella good loaded with shrimp Fried Fish tacos - very good, not thick batter, sauce was perfect. Churro Ice Cream Sandwiches - I can't believe how delicious this was. We were too full to finish. Excellent choice Chicken nachos - hella good. Large portion Quesadilla sampler - really good! Chicken, beef, zucchini blossom. Grilled Chicken Fajitas - hella good! My friend and I stopped here today for lunch and sat at the bar. It was 114 outside and the bar was lovely and cool, the margaritas were perfect. The bartender and all of the staff were super friendly, made great suggestions for menu items and places to visit in the area. We both had a fresh margarita- she had the watermelon, but with a spicy twist and I had the cucumber jalapeño one, but with mezcal added. The aqua chili was really good also, we picked the verde Serrano one based on our waiter's suggestion. Although we only tried a couple of things- we were really impressed with them. Between the food and service, we were both really happy. It was a perfect start to our desert weekend getaway!

Came here with a group of co-workers while we were visiting the area for a conference. We made reservations and was seated immediately. The waitress was super kind and patient as she went around taking orders for our group of 8. We had the gaucamole and chips and mixed quesidillas for starter. I've never had a gaucamole with a kick to it and this was delicious. The other accompanied sauce was really good as well. We even used to zest up the other food items we got. I ordered the watermelon margarita and was not impressed by it. It was however, refreshing. Other colleagues got the pineapple passion and they raved about it. Food: flavorful with great food presentations, my college friend really liked eating here our last night of Palm Springs outing! It was slightly on the smaller portion size (only 2 little crab cakes) and slightly saltier (especially the enchilada) than I would have normally liked, but still good food regardless Price: crab cakes and ceviche were about $22 each, I think short rib enchilada was in the high 20s, cake was about $12. Was sat by the bar, altho made reso for a booth inside. So that sucked. It was a hot day and we were barely kept cool. Asked for recs and server highly recommended the poblano. My dish was good but I dont think it was worth the price tag at like $27. Visually ugly but i guess its hard to make this cute. Nobody really liked their green rice but I was ok with it. Shrimps looked bug and plump but too bad im not much of a shrimp eater. Very dark inside and loud. The local patrons here were also a little iffy...majority young and hoochied out and some getting too rowdy...bathroom visit was weird... Can totally see into 1 stall, also show thru glass which is so weird and ofc the patrons again. Our server was a bit iffy too. I mean... he kept trying to spoon feed the bday girl the whip cream...thats so weird. I prolly wont be back.... Or maybe try for lunch...

So glad we decided to grab lunch at Tac/Quila! Our server David was super attentive and kind, making our first visit great. The food was absolutely delicious and had fresh ingredients. Usually restaurants miss the mark with veggie options but they know what they're doing! Everything our table ordered was great. The restaurant itself was cool on this hot summer day and had great decor adding to the overall ambiance. This restaurant is perfect for any occasion and is a must while in Palm Springs!

One if not the best mexican food place ive been to in my life! The food is so unreal i dont even know where to start.. at least i can def say the short rib enchiladas is worth the drive there.. as im writing this my mind is stuttering just from thinking about how good there were. The tomato sauce they had was so amazing and everything tasted so fresh! The white fish ceviche was also very very good and the churro dessert was worth it. Service 10/10. Food 10000/10 drinks 10/10. Huge selection of mezcal and tequila which i love both. Also our server was beyond amazing. Helpful. Honest. I live in los angeles and eat mexican food at least one/twice a week, it one of my most favorite cuisines and this place is def ranking at the too 1 with the short rib dish! This place is really popular! We ended up sitting at the bar which was still a great experience. The bartenders were attentive and entertaining watching them make drinks. We ordered the short rib and verde enchiladas. Super tender meats and great flavors. I really enjoyed the beer battered avocado bites as well. AND The drinks were excellent. Next time we are back in the area will definitely come back.

We are in town for a getaway weekend and just popped in for a light lunch. Service is good with seating indoors or outside on the patio. The overall vibe is really nice and relaxed. Carne Asada tacos were good and as others have said the salsa that comes with the tacos is great! The bottom of the taco shells falls apart from the juiciness of the fillings so that is something they need to address but overall it was great!

Such a fun little place right off the main road. The decoration was right on track with the theme & had a great authentic feel. The menu was HUGE with soo many options! We tried the mini tacos appetizer & chips/salsa. The mini tacos were pretty basic with not much flavor, but paired well with the egulat and avocado salsa. The server was amazing & knowledgeable. The bartender even helped us choose drinks! We each got different tacos & ALL were delicious! This was all around a fun place!

Great mexican spot along the strip. We were able to get a Friday night reservation just a few hours early. We initially made the rezi for outside, but it was hot and they were able to seat us at the bar ok. Food & Drink - I got the vegan jackfruit enchiladas and they were amazing! I wasn't as wowed with the side of rice and beans but I loved my enchiladas. I also got the margarita flight and they were all so tasty. Service was surprisingly fast despite how busy they were, and our waiter was very friendly.

Such a cute little restaurant! First of all, LOVE the name -- tacos and tequila are my two favorite things! This place is clearly very popular as it was packed with a line and a bit of a wait on a random Thursday afternoon. I got the margarita flight (all delicious) and the lobster tail tacos, which were pricey but pretty good. I loved the rice, the sauce, and everything it came with, but felt the dish was overall a little basic if you took away the lobster tail. We also got a flan dessert, which was so cute but we were already getting full by that point. This place is such a vibe and I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the desert!

I'll start with something positive, the drinks were good. I had a chavela. The calamari wasn't bad either. They served it with two sauces. One sauce was like a cumin paste; it was so thick and tasted like nothing besides cumin. The atmosphere could've been better. We sat out in the street. They still use those 'parklets' (temporary structures used when indoor seating was restricted during COVID..) The service was good and they were attentive; however, the server had a hard time hearing with all of the street noise. I had the Sole tacos and they tasted like they used frozen fish sticks. They were all mushy and flavorless aside from the greasy flavor. My partner had the lobster tacos. The first bite was good, but then I realized how chewy and rubbery the lobster was. I would only come back for drinks, maybe appetizers. I dined with friends who shared my sentiments on their entrees.

Suggest making reservations -a little late for lunch or a little early for dinner, it gets crowded. No matter what time it is or what day of the week, get the margarita flight. 4 different flavors made with fresh fruit. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Everything I've had is well seasoned and made with fresh ingredients. Not spicy at all, but it's in a tourist area, so I get it. 100% must try spot in downtown Palm Springs. I literally cannot wait to go back. Staff were a bit on the slow side, but not to worry, their tasty drinks and delicious food options make up for it. We drove down from LA on a Friday night and got a text 30 mins early saying that our table was ready- arrived before 9 and was seated immediately upon arrival. Our waiter was really nice and the setting was fun and lively! Now, the reason for the 3-star review. The food was just.. ok. Nothing special or even really that great. The food was fine but for how busy it always is and how hard it is to get a reservation, it was really anti-climactic. The drinks also were just ok. I like my margaritas and cocktails to be refreshing and not too sweet, and their margaritas were too sweet and syrupy-tasting. They were pretty presentation-wise though.. We got the taco chips as an appetizer (they were filled w/ refried beans), and shared the carne asada and shrimp tacos with a friend. I also got the chicken tortilla soup which was soo overly salty. I don't recommend Tac/Quila and really don't understand the hype unfortunately There are so many smaller, authentic, and delicious family-owned Mexican restaurants on the same street that have sooo much better tasting food. Tac/Quila is much more sceney/vibey and attracts bachelorette party-type crowds.. but I get wanting that vibe though when coming out to the desert for a special occasion. But if you just want solid Mexican food.. easy pass!

Such a yummy place full of flavor and fun! I got the flight of margs there - I think the best was kiwi. Very interesting flavors and so unique! I ordered the avocado tempura taco and was not disappointed. I also ordered a side of carnitas meat as I wanted more protein with my meal - so juicy, tender and delish! My companion ordered the chile relleno stuffed with carnitas meat - also incredible! For sure a go to spot in PS. We'll be back!

Came here a few weeks ago and found it to be a great Mexican-inspired restaurant with elevated dishes and a beautiful ambiance. And although it was a fancier dining place, we still felt welcome with a baby/stroller and had a cozy seat by the fireplace. The place was busy and had quite a long wait. We got here a bit earlier than our 8pm reservation, but they couldn't accommodate us any earlier; so be sure you do make a reservation if you go. Food-wise, octopus, ceviche, and the nachos were the highlights along with a delicious tres leche for desert. Definitely don't skip out on the tres leches here, it's the real deal and so good! Would definitely come back!

Tac/Quila was my very first restaurant that I've eaten in Palm Springs. It was a great experience. The Thursday night atmosphere was exotic and friendly. The tables were full of happy patrons We found out that the dishes and drinks were over the top. Much praise for Lulu, because her service was exceptional. We will return again, and we will tell all of our friends!!

Wow! What a wonderful dining experience we had! We were searching for a great lunch spot in Palm Springs and we're glad we found it. The tacos were incredibly flavorful, the cocktails were delicious, and the service was spot on. You must try the tres leches, it's one of the best desserts we've ever had! The restaurant itself was well-decorated with different seating options.

The carne asada street tacos were delicious! Ordered that with a side of Arroz Blanco (white rice), + a mint mojito. The perfect dinner! We sat at a table that was partially outdoors but covered. It was a rainy, cold evening but the space heaters kept us comfortable. We were celebrating a friend's birthday. They brought her a free dessert and after learning she's vegan, brought her another vegan dessert that she could eat. So sweet!

While at Palm Springs saw a crowd trying to snag a table here, so glad we decided to go on the waiting list. This is an upscale Mexican restaurant with modern decor yet keeping to the hacienda vibe. And the crowd were young and beautiful too. Since we arrived without reservations, we ordered perfect Cadillac margaritas by the bar and waited. They told us it would be a 45 minute wait but happily got called in less than 20 minutes. So totally worth the wait! Our waiter, Marco, provided us with impeccable service and suggestions. We ordered: white fish ceviche, street tacos-fried sole, steak fajitas and for dessert, churro ice cream sandwich. OMG!!! All were so delicious and made to perfection!

We have been to Tac/Quila a few times on previous visits to PS but I neglected to review them (I'm trying to make sure I review all of the restaurants we frequent because I enjoy utilizing the reviews myself. So I'll be paying it forward by doing the same.) We always enjoy T/Q. We have never had anything but stellar service and quality food. I'm vegetarian and one of my favorite dishes is the vegetarian nachos. We enjoyed them so so much so that we have tried to duplicate them at home by making our own refried beans, ranchero sauce, and pico- we're not quite there, but we keep trying:) This time around we sat at the bar where we had air conditioning although with the fans and misters outside would have been fine even in August because the sun had gone behind the mountain. We asked if there was room at the bar and the hostess actually went inside and asked if someone minded moving down one seat to accommodate us. The girl didn't mind so we had room at the bar. We really appreciated that. My husband and I started with the Cadillac margs and we shared the veggie nachos for a light dinner. As always so, so good. The service was great and we will always make sure this restaurant is on our rotation when visiting PS.

Worth a visit! Eater LA did a piece on Palm Springs restaurants, and spoke kindly of this spot. So we checked it out, and it did not disappoint. Like every Mexican restaurant, they messed up the "no cilantro" order, my friend requested. (Y'all, for some people, cilantro tastes like metal. I know you think it's delicious, but knowledge is power) LoL... I digress. Anyway, my partner loved his short rib taco. I had the fried sole tacos (recommended by Eater LA) - all delish. Great nachos. They also have great fresh WATERMLEON drinks, which we love. Regular lemonade, or margs. They make it fresh, in house, and it's great. Oh, and last but not least-- TRES LECHES BABYYYY! (Sorry, we get excited when we see our fav dessert on the menu.) Definitely check this place out. Hopefully you like cilantro! (I do)

Everything is fresh and delicious! Drinks are a on the higher side but I'd rather pay $16 for a drink here where they made the ice cube to go with the drink and had many fresh items than somewhere charging $16 where they are literally pouring premade drinks I could pour at home. lol

My experience at Tac/Quila was terrible. I ordered the Chipotle Shrimp and Steak Fajitas, but there was absolutely no chipotle flavor, and the food was bland. The guacamole was awful--far from fresh. The manager tried to fix the situation by bringing me a second plate, but it seemed like they just refried the original one, which didn't help at all. The only redeeming part of the meal was the Tres Leches cake, which was decent. Overall, I expected much better and won't be returning.

We tried Taco Tac/Quila because we have not tried Mexican cuisine with a Michelin star. The decor of this place is very elaborate and elegant. We ordered quite a few tacos to try different things. We had the quesobirria, Ahi tuna taco, salmon taco and Arrachera taco. The quesobirria was great, great presentation as well. The other tacos were good as well, the food is exceptionally good but the portions are definitely Michelin star worthy. However, a bit disappointed we spent 70 bucks on tacos and left hungry. The cocktails are alright, I tried their Mexican martini and it was good, it's just not much more than 5 cl worth of liquid in total, which is the standard, I get it. The service was attentive. I also wish we were seated further from other tables because it doesn't give you much sense of privacy when you get sat by the couches. Overall a decent experience.
