Sylvie and Shimmy

Going to this store is always the highlight of my week.. or month; I live quite the distance away so it’s quite the drive but always worth it. I’ve been coming here well before the pandemic, and have fallen in love with the owners’ sense of appeal and aesthetic eye. I’ve learned how challenging it’s been for Sylvie and Shimmy.. just like many small business owners, they’ve been hit financially and in many other ways due to the pandemic. There’s so much that goes into running a business, and Sylvie, the lovely owner I met, is doing her very best and more. Wonderful gems like this store need the local support of the community, so have yourself a trip here and you really won’t be disappointed. Thank you Sylvie for helping me with my latest purchase of these gorgeous Oko earrings (another local business) and coat. These will be special pieces in my wardrobe for many seasons to come. I am not kidding when I say this is my FAVE shop in Toronto. I honestly must buy 75% of my clothing from here. I love how efficient it is. I walk in, pick out 10-20 things to try on, find 5 or so pieces that I love, and boom! For those who like efficient shopping, this place is perfect. The staff is so friendly, the selection is great and always changing. Easy parking. Perfect!

My sister and I discovered this shop during the covid pandemic, of all times. We have both purchased a few items online and are very satisfied. The pieces are cute, well made and at a great, accessible price point. I find the sizing information on their website helpful. Many of their pieces fit small, so it’s important to measure yourself and then reference the measurements they provide. We are excited to continue supporting awesome local businesses, such as Sylvie and shimmy, online and in person when the time comes!

A little gem! The vibe here is very chill. I bought a pair of boots after seeing them in the window. The quality of the material is really good and the price was reasonable. They look and feel like real leather (but I won't be worried about winter salt). Will be back when I have more time.

I really enjoy the curated selection of clothing. Go frequently if you don't want to miss out as their choice pieces go quick and there's always something new. Some of their prices have started inching up closer to other expensive options in the area, but there are still many options that won't break the bank.

I purchased a sweater a few months prior to the Pandemic. I simply went in to inquire if i could exchange this item, being responsible without any expectations, as I haven't shopped here much before and understand that it had been a while. The women working at the time today was beyond rude and was acting as if I completely offended her. I calmly asked her what was wrong and she said I was making her uncomfortable by trying to exchange this sweater.... I will never shop there again. You're better off shopping at places with good customer service and aren't offended by exchanges.

Have been following this shop on Instagram for years. Always love seeing what new items they have and there is always something I like. Recently purchased a top and sweater via curbside pickup and it was a great experience. Thank you and can’t wait to pick up more pieces next time!

Beautiful, classy and unique clothing selection. Cute little store. Staff are very helpful and attentive. Most items are rather expensive but good quality and you can always check out the sales rack at the back
