This sleek Midtown café serves up a delightful mix of Asian-inspired breads, tantalizing pastries, and a wide selection of teas, perfect for a cozy study session.
"Sweet Hut's Midtown location is ideal for a nice lunch, finished off with a sweet treat. It’s surprisingly spacious with plenty of room to spread out with friends or work equipment and while away an afternoon. The Pan-Asian cafe has decent sandwiches, like their bulgogi-sauced Bibimbap Burger. But before you can even get to the order counter, you'll see all the individually packaged grab-and-go pastries sitting like encased treasures beneath dangling light orbs. Our best laid plans of grabbing just one pastry always fail—we wind up using their handy white baskets to hold a smorgasbord of matcha red bean pastries, lightly sugared donuts, and sweet Hong Kong polos with a lightly crunchy crust. No regrets, ever. " - juli horsford
"Sweet Hut has plopped five pink-hued locations around the metro since opening in 2014. Contrary to their name, they also have a good selection of savory pastries and sandwiches, so they’re a great stop for a quick work lunch and midday pick-me-up treats. Our favorites here are their caterpillar roll (a billowy soft bun encasing a cream cheese filling), taro pastry, chicken curry puff, and matcha egg tart (a relatively new addition). And if you’re an egg tart fan, they offer a delicious variety of flavors. While parking at their Midtown location may seem like a hassle, the cafe offers validation for the parking garage around the corner past Taco Mac. " - candy hom
"Sweet Hut is our go-to when we’re on the hunt for delicious mooncakes and sesame tuile cookies. And whenever we’re here, we’ll usually spend an eternity roaming the pastry cases full of individually packaged sweets to see what other treats catch our eye. If they have red velvet or those flaky elephant ear cookies on the shelves, get them. The Pan-Asian cafe and bakery has three metro locations, and we’re practically residents at their Midtown cafe. It's a cheerful, pink-hued escape from the mess that is Peachtree at lunch time." - nina reeder, juli horsford
"With a vast selection of sweet and savory buns, cookies, doughnuts, and Swiss rolls to choose from, people should also put the pandan kaya roti on their list of desserts to try at Sweet Hut." - Susie Chow
"When we're on the hunt for a custard-filled bun or hard-to-find mooncakes, Sweet Hut Bakery & Cafe is where we get our sugar fix. While there are three metro locations, their Midtown cafe remains one of our favorites, partly because the trendy light fixtures above make the individually packaged grab-and-go pastries feel like glowing treasures, enticing us to take more than we came for. While it’s easy to pop in and out of the Peachtree location, you can easily stay awhile in the relaxed cafe's high tops and big booths to comfortably catch up on a week’s worth of memes. Sip some matcha frappes or milk teas while you're there. The Pan-Asian bakery draws a steady lunch crowd, too, thanks to items like their bulgogi cheesesteak and the mushroom panini on house-baked bread. photo credit: Candy Hom photo credit: Candy Hom photo credit: Candy Hom" - Nina Reeder
