Sushi Time

I've gone here twice now with my dad and the workers are the sweetest lady's ever. If you have any questions, they are happy to answer them and will suggest a roll based on your taste. I'm a sushi LOVER and this is the freshest best tasting sushi I've ever gotten. I've been many places but nothing beats sushi made with love and the freshest ingredients. I 100% recommend them you definitely won't regret it. This time I got the Crunch roll and my dad got the Shingo roll. I recommend getting ginger and Wasabi with the shingo roll and eating it without soy sauce. The flavors are amazing and I've never been a big fan of ginger or Wasabi but with this roll it's a must it's so delicious. Last time we also got the eel salad and it was so good. Each time we have gotten different rolls and they have all been delicious.

I just had a beautiful meal here. I was the only one in the restaurant, 1:30 pm on a Saturday. From the moment I arrived, to the moment I left, Sunny treated me like a VIP, sussing out what kind of sashimi I’d prefer, offering *fresh* wasabi, and making sure my my meal was both delicious and not lonely. The sashimi was perfection, thanks to expert sushi chef Mimi. A little sticker shock with the final bill, but totally worth it. I will be back, the next time I’m in town! P.S. The chopsticks are washable / re-unable, so you can have an extra set at home.

Amazing food, made to your liking. Sunny the owner is amazing! She greets you, makes you feel at home and cooks all the food (a wonderful sushi chef makes all the rolls). If it’s busy you might have a few minutes extra to wait for your food but it is so worth it!! Our very favorite place to go! It’s a small restaurant so you feel relaxed and important!!!

Just took my wife for lunch, wonderful place. The food was great, especially the salmon. We got several sushi rolls to share and a waitress named Sunny even offered to teach us a little about how to eat/how to mix the flavors. Staff was very nice and we will definitely be going back. They even offered to let us keep the higher quality chopsticks.

Eating here was such a great experience. Sunny recommended some excellent rolls catered to my favorite flavor profiles. What came out were two rolls that I had never experienced before. She even gave a tutorial on how to eat it for maximum enjoyment with wasabi, ginger and even lemon! 🤯 Portions were the perfect size too! I can't recommend this place enough! Come get some good food.

A very small restaurant, lovely employees, and delicious food. There was barely enough tables for all the customers coming through. They put a lemon in between the salmon rolls, causing the fish to taste like lemons. The only downfall to this night out.

We tried some rolls that were recommended by the staff along with real wasabi and it was delicious! The staff had excellent customer service and made us all feel very welcome. I highly recommend Sushi Time and will definitely be going back.

Ima fan. Place is always good. Super nice people and good service. It's a tiny restaurant with 6 tables and a dozen spots at the bar. Music is good too. We had a Philly roll the strange part was it didn't have cucumber but instead large chunks of salmon

A small cozy sushi spot in Tempe that has lots of choices for sushi and more. I've been here 3 times and each time I've enjoyed what I ate. My favorite is the Las Vegas roll. Their service is also really good as they make sure you have water filled and are looking your sushi selection. Also, they'll help new people to sushi and how to eat it with the right amount of wasabi and ginger or whatever is needed.

The service is what makes this place stand out. The wonderful ladies working here make the place cozy and inviting. The food is also fresh and very well done.

The people here were so kind, the sushi was good, the restaurant was very clean, and the ambiance was nice! I walked in and ordered an avocado roll and a cucumber roll to go. They have reserved spots at the counter that you can sit at while you wait for your to go order. I enjoyed the music while I waited, and service was quick. I would come here again!

confusing menu, slow service, overpriced so called sushi maybe ok for arizona, but small portions of tasteless fish isn't sushi

I have been wanting to find a sushi place near home and I think I've find a regular spot! The service was very fast and the waitress gave great suggestions. My son is 12. Ramen and California rolls are about as adventurous as he gets. The ramen, although basic, was more than perfect for him. He really won't eat all of the add ins that some other places do. I had the twice good and salmon time and really enjoyed both. 100% will be back. It's relaxed inside, you can have a nice conversation without yelling over loud music.

Sushi Time was a quaint little sushi spot we checked out before attending a nearby comedy show. the place was pretty quiet with only a couple of other guests coming in after we were about halfway done with our meal. the staff were very nice and made some great recommendations on not just menu items but even the best condiments and accompaniments to maximize the flavor. Our server even got my first roll set up for me - which was both surprising and cool! Not sure if I would drive to enjoy but if in the mood for sushi and in the area I would likely return. Shrimp tempura and spicy tuna were probably my favorites!

Food was delicious and the service was great! They were kind and friendly. We received our rolls quickly and overall cute restaurant. Great place to eat in Tempe.

Wow. Prices have gone up and quality seems down. Bumping to 3 stars because the owner is always so nice! The basic spicy tuna roll is now $10 - and covered in sauce, ugh- and the avocado roll is $8. This is a significant price jump and much higher than other sushi restaurants. I get that everything is expensive and it's tough to keep fresh fish but I don't think charging 30-50% more than other, more popular restaurants is going to be successful. Rice was dry, avocado was scarce. This is $18 pre-tax, $22 after tax and tip for takeout.

This place had great food and great service. I usually get more basic sushi rolls, but this one was unique with mango jalapeño and lemon. What a delicious taste. I definitely will be coming back here on my next work trip

Sushi Time is the epitome of a mom and pop restaurant! On the Tuesday night we dined in, there was only one family of 6, and they knew the owner well, discussing family members like old friends. We had the Shrimp Las Vegas and Red Mountain roll (their specialty). The rolls were a good size, with good portions of tuna, and the RM was plated beautifully. The jalapeno and mango combo reaaallly works and is super fresh! Good roll but a bit steep at $18.. Service was prompt by the owner and she checked on us throughout our meal, offering suggestions on picking up the massive RM roll (by the side, not the top) and trying fresh ginger with the tuna. After the two rolls and sake, the total was $40 so definitely a higher price point than most sushi restaurants. Definitely consider Sushi Time as a treat!

I have been eating here for over 4 years and I could not say enough great things about this place. The service is so friendly and they make the best recommendations if you can't decide what to order. My favorite apps include: gyoza, crab Rangoon, jalapeño poppers, & miso soup. My favorite rolls are the salmon time, red mountain, and Las Vegas. They also have a great combo for dine in! I normally do carry out, but I've also eaten here several times. It's such a cozy atmosphere - they have a counter with stools to sit at, along with 6-7 other tables. Parking is easy, too! Very chill environment. Story time! A few weeks ago after I picked up my order, I was tired and forgot I left my bag on top of my car and drove away. About 1/4 block down Baseline, I see my bag fly off my roof and land in the street I was so upset - but I had to turn around to see if it could be salvaged! So I went back and parked on a side street, raced to the lane where my food landed - it was untouched! But there was a group of cars headed my way and I was motioning with my arms for them to drive around to save my sushi Unhinged? Absolutely! But 3 cars drive around and the 4th truck drove OVER it but cleared it due to its height. IT WAS SAFE! I dashed out and grabbed the bag and drove home. I pulled out the container when I got home - was it a sushi bowl now? Yes. But it was still delicious!! SO GREAT I HAD TO SAVE IT I've attached two photos: what the sushi "bowl" looked like after the rescue and what it normally looks like (Red mountain).

This is the best sushi in Arizona! This is not only because of the delicious and beautifully plated sushi, or the cozy and adorable atmosphere, but also because of the outstanding, warm service we have received here each time we've come. This is a small restaurant with limited seating, I would call ahead to make a reservation during peak hours. Even then when they are busy, the owner, who is also the server, really takes the time to guide you through your meal. She offered us fresh wasabi with our plates and taught us how to enhance our experience with ginger, the fresh wasabi, and thinly sliced lemon. What a difference! Soy sauce is incomparable! She remembered us from the last time we came over a year ago, and brought out special desserts for our anniversary. We only wish we could make it this way more often! Thank you!

Let me tell you how impressed I am with the beautiful people at this restaurant! I arranged to meet a friend at 2 and was horribly delayed. They close at 3, so when it was 2:45, my friend was the only one in the restaurant and she asked if they preferred that we move to a different venue so they could close. They insisted that I take my time and they would wait for me. And then provided exemplary service, including instruction on the way to create the perfect sushi bite and tips for better use of chopsticks. My friend said they provided the same level of service for her. They allowed us to visit and take our time while they enjoyed their meal and prepared for dinner service. The food was darn good - I had a spicy tuna roll with salmon on the outside, and a bowl of chicken yakisoba. My friend had a different spicy tuna roll, the wonton soup and veggie egg rolls. Everything was very tasty. I recommend them most highly!

This little mom and pop joint is a Tempe gem. The seafood tasted fresh and our waitress made sure to give us some good recommendations for our next lunch outing. Seating is limited and we were warned that it can get very busy during lunch hours, but they also offer take out as an alternative. Definitely coming back again!

The sushi here is great. Gyoza 5/5 flavor is excellent and I like the crunchiness of em. ROLLS AND THOUGHTS Suprise-banger California roll-old reliable. Always great. Oh baby - eccentric(outside of the box, if you will. ) Red mountain- hard to handle, but worth the effort Good stuff all around

My go-to sushi place whenever i'm in town A quiet little family owned place with friendly staff who broke me from the habit of dunking everything in soy sauce. Always fresh. Fresh wasabi. Cold beer. Hot saki. Warm smiles.

My husband and I are always looking for new places to eat and today wasn't the exception. We stumbled across Sushi Time because we were going to eat at another restaurant in that plaza but it looked like it was closed so we saw Sushi Time had an "open" sign so we decided to go there not expecting too much due to the place looking really dark with the windows tinted; but once we entered Sunny our waitress greeted us with a big smile, she was soo helpful asking us what do we usually like in our sushi and she gave us great recommendations for the type of stuff we liked, she recommended the Red Mountain and the Salmon Time which were amazing. I feel the prices are good for what you get. This is for sure going to be our sushi place to go to. In other words this place is great! Everything was amazing! The service was awesome but most importantly the fish was 10/10. We are avid sushi lovers and fish flavor is important to us. No fishyness here! Highly recommend supporting this local joint.

First let me tell you a story about a "local" sushi restaurant that is owned by this cute Asian couple. The chef is the husband & the server is the wife. They have owned this restaurant for many many moons. I was truly impressed with customer service & the willingness of the chef to make specialty rolls. I asked him to make a "surprise" roll that's not on the menu.....boy did that old chef deliver! He made me the best albacore sushi roll I've ever had! The wife was super attentive to customers & knew the perfect time when to ask if we needed anything. The prices were very reasonable and portions are perfect. I truly truly like this place & it's an actual "local" sushi restaurant. I recommend this place but if you want to experience it in full come during non-peak hours.

I love this place. The great food and service is a given. The friendliness of the staff is superb. They take the time to show you how to optimize your eating pleasure. They even got my stubborn teenage daughter not only to try sushi but to like it. If you want a great dining experience give sushi time a try you will not be disappointed.

This place was a surprise. We were looking for sushi near ASU and read the reviews saying it was the best sushi in the valley. We were skeptical but decided to give Sushi Time a try and we were not disappointed. Great flavor, good portions, priced reasonably. You gotta come here. We'll be back.

I love coming here! My wife and I found this gem during COVID and try to come in regularly. Great sushi, and a wonderful atmosphere. The staff and service is so friendly and attentive.

This place is a hidden gem. I get sushi almost every week and this place is definitely on the top of my list. The price is reasonable and the food is great. I always get the surprise roll ($13) and my boyfriend gets the hot night or Alaskan roll ($14). The fish is not fishy at all and the servers is very accommodating. It's a place very close to asu campus, I recommend checking it out.

Best Sushi and overall service in AZ!! It's always a nice, cozy spot to grab sushi. My #1 go-to! Love the Alaskan and Hot Night rolls especially though the chef specials are always good too.

The service is quick and efficient. Their pricing is great for quality of sushi they provide. Very nice ambiance and has a homey feeling to it which you don't find in a sushi restaurant often! I love going here when I need a quick sushi fix! The sushi chef is adorable and loves conversing about the sushi she makes! They make it a great experience every time!

I love fresh. Especially in Sea Food. Who doesn't! A Friend told me about this place so I decided to give it a try. It's small and welcoming and after we started enjoying the food I realized it is just as good as what my friend told me. We went simple. We had two rolls. The Alaskan roll was spicy just right. We had the Seared Albacore, Unagi and Endamame and I enjoyed a miso soup which is the same thing you get every place. But it was all very good.

Sushi tastes great and staff is amazing! The fish was so tender and the waitress helped us get a soy stain out of our shirt so nice!

The owner is a lot of fun! The vibe of an experience lures the return. I love coming back!

Five stars all around! Came here with my 3 brothers and the staff were so friendly, the food was incredible and the vibe was very refreshing. The servers actually gave us tips on sushi pairing and even gave us fresh wasabi which unbeknownst to us is different than the wasabi we were used to eating. Highly recommend!

Best sushi in PHX metro. I have friends that insist on paying 300+ per person for boujee ass places and I've made converts of all of them. Try the chef specials. You won't be sorry.

Place is awesome. Friendly service and great good. They gave me a prebiotic with my bill. They care about your gut health. For a large sake and 2 rolls was only $30. I feel that was a good price. Check it out

The management has changed within the past few months and you can tell the difference. Usually there's only one person serving/attending to everyone which can make for slow service which we have been ignoring but what happened to my husband and I today was worse. I know that sometimes their are updates to the menu with increased prices (shown as pen written over white out) but today we were definitely overcharged. We were charged what we normally pay when we get two of the more expensive rolls and two beers- today we only had one expensive, one simple roll with only 1 beer. When we calculated how much the bill should be based on the price listed in the menu we saw we were charged an extra $4-$6. Since it's always busy in there we didn't want to wait even longer to get their attention again and ask for an itemized bill. While it may not seem like much difference, the intention of charging someone extra for zero reason is not right and doesn't make me feel like I want to go back anytime soon.

Love love love this place. Food and service is amazing! Every dish I've tried has been amazingly fresh and so delicious. Definitely a hidden gem! It wouldn't let me click on ambiance? But, I do like the atmosphere. So quiet and cute.

Didn't notice a happy hour when I was there as the times were no longer there. I went in anyways as I am always interested in new places for sushi. The place is very small inside, and not many seats, so I sat at the bar. The sushi was very good, and flavorful. The two women there (sushi chef and host) were very friendly and attentive. This seemed like a very small operation, but well deserved to come in. I will definitely be coming back as there is quality here.

This is my favorite restaurant in the valley, I've been coming to Sushi time ever since I moved here and I absolutely love it. At one point I was going 2-3 times a week. When you walk in it's a warm cozy environment, and you take your seat then you are greeted by the sweetest, kindest woman then world has to offer. Bless Sunny and all the great laughs we've shared. Doesn't matter if it's rain or shine I always have a great time when at SUSHI TIME.

Sushi Time is our favorite sushi restaurant in the East Valley. Sunny is extremely dedicated to providing great service to her customers as she makes you feel welcome each and every visit. The sushi is fresh and absolutely delicious. Some of our favorite rolls include the Hot Night, Surprise roll and Red Mountain roll (Chef Special). The restaurant does have limited seating so expect a small wait if you get there between 6:30-7:30 on a Friday/Saturday night. Be sure to prioritize this place as you will not be disappointed!

Came here for the first time today. Small cozy atmosphere. Just the sushi chef and server who I assume to be the owner. She is super friendly and made my dining experience very enjoyable. I got the usual sushi I get whenever I go- spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and salmon nigiri. It was delicious. I liked the salmon nigiri the most. Almost melted in the mouth. Very high quality meat is used here. I will definitely be back!

holy cow. i have had my fair share of sushi and i cam say hands down this is one of the best. from the homey feel of the restaurant to the incredible staff, there was nothing i would critique about this. the women serving gave us little tips about enhancing the already incredible sushi, and sent us off with a small treat on the house. 10/10.

I love this place! The owner and chef are so sweet and the sushi is always amazing and fresh. They also have fresh wasabi which is not common in sushi restaurants in phx in my experience. I encourage everyone to come and try this amazing spot.

Don't bother looking up their prices online. They don't reflect the ones the picked out for the day. Completely unprofessional.

Im from Tucson and decided to pop in on a mini vacation. The server was so kind, kept great convo and even noticed it was my birthday and brought me a little moonpie. Super sweet and the food is excellent. Definitely recommend the garlic roll.
