Best sushi in the area hands down. Michigan Roll, Tuna Dragon and the Spicy Snapper Rolls were all 10/10. The sesame dressing on the side salad was delicious. Don’t hesitate to come here!! You won’t regret it. Posting the menu here to be helpful to others.

Holy mother of all things sushi! I must say that I am impressed! I have never been here before, drove past it a ton of times and just happened to have a good friend in town and said let's go check it out and just WOW! This was the freshest, melt in your mouth like butterrrrrrrr sushi that I have had in years. Everything was spectacular. We even had a new server who was a delight and everyone we dealt with was simply wonderful. I think I have found my new favorite sushi spot!

Everything about this place was wonderful!! The service was great and quick. The food was delicious, generous portions and good pricing. I highly recommend if you’re in the Lantana area.

Food was very good. Our server was great. Our 1-year old was learning how to use their “helper” chopsticks. We were having a great time. However, there was a sharp piece of broken plastic inside one of my KC rolls (see picture). I was feeding this food to my child when I noticed it. We told our server, she went inside and came back out to tell us they wouldn’t charge us for the roll. Well, thanks but where is the manager or owner or anybody else who wants to maybe check on us? So I asked if we can see the manager. He didn’t come out, so I went inside. I first thanked him for taking the rolls off the bill but asked why he didn’t come see us. He began acting busy and started paying me no mind. I continued to talk as he avoided eye contact and made no direct reply to me. I explained we were feeding this to a kid and that any of us could have bitten into it and cut our mouth. He started motioning towards the server who was processing our payment. He told her to cancel the payment but continued to not even look at me or say anything directly to me. I told him we didn’t come here for a free meal, we just wanted someone to recognize what happened and take responsibility. I was still talking to a wall at this point. I said my last piece, told him we were disappointed, and left with my family. He never looked up. This was our first visit. We’ll never be back.

Best sushi place in palm beach county hands down! They have the freshest sushi ever. The owner and staff are super awesome and nice. There’s not a wait ever and the place is clean. If you haven’t been you’re missing out.

Excellent quality sushi! Came for a weekday lunch with my husband and baby. All staff were welcoming and kind. They provided my baby a high chair. The sushi was fresh and portions were large. Will definitely be coming back!

Outstanding fresh Sushi. The fresh catch was snapper and they had Toro as a special as well. The appetizers were fresh and tasty as well. We eat sushi almost twice a week and this place is the best. All the fish was amazingly fresh and tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. The decor is not the nicest but the food makes up for this. To sum it up, this place has the best sushi in Palm beach county. Prices are fair for what you get. I highly recommend this place.

Sadly, Sushi Bon is permanently closed. Maybe Ebi san retired? Going to miss him. This was the only legit Japanese restaurant in town. If he did retire, I wish him all the best and have nothing but thanks for all the great meals I enjoyed there.

My family and I have been dining at sushi bon for 10+ years, no matter where in the world I was if you asked me what my favorite food/restaurant was I'd answer Sushi Bon. My little sister and I grew up with this restaurant, and it's bittersweet to see it close. I hope the owner and staff know just how much of a staple they were to this town and the people in it, thank you for so many years of amazing food and service. We will miss you Sushi Bon!

Loved it. Then owner/chef hired a bunch of new staff who know nothing about Japanese food. Too bad! Hidden gem out of season, I guess. Now might as well be another fake Japanese restaurant.

Great sushi, good service, and plentiful outdoor seating. We had a great meal and the server was polite. Parking is plentiful with 3 public parking lots nearby. One of the serious differences of this sushi restaurant and others is the local fish, not to mention a real sushi chef. I love sitting at the bar watching him prepare the sushi while chatting about whatever.

Countless great memories of nearly 20 years of dining at the best and most authentic Japanese restaurant in all South Florida. Not only did Ebi San make THE BEST sushi, but also a rotating menu of authentic home style Japanese comfort food. At times Ebi San would serve live uni, live scallops, fresh eels etc. The uni pasta could rival any of the best NYC had to offer. I tasted and learned so much about true Japanese food from Ebi San. Came in to dine last night at Sushi Bon Express. We were happily greeted and got ourselves seated at the sushi bar. There were several options for alcoholic beverages and we chose to go with a Kirin Ichiban and a Sapporo, the large bottle. The drinks with glasses were brought over and after giving their menu a look over we decided on our meals. The server was attentive and ready to take our order once we chose and we put in a miso soup, spicy negihama roll and a crazy roll. Since we were seated at the sushi bar we were able to watch the chefs make our rolls and that was such a fun experience. Both the chefs were engaging and friendly as they told us about the different kinds of fishing experiences they've had. Food was brought out promptly and it tasted just as good as it looked. The crazy roll was a mix of warm and cool ingredients and the spicy roll came topped with a spicy crab salad which added a nice burst of flavor to the meal. Overall I was pleased and impressed by both the service and quality of food and you can't forget to try the coffee candies they offer in the bowl on your way out.

The lunch special is the best deal in town! The fish is so fresh, I mean we are right on the ocean so how can you go wrong. Everyone is so friendly everytime we go, which is quite often. The prices can't be beat for sushi either! Quaint little spot with plenty of outdoor seating too.

This is the only purely Japanese sushi spot in Palm Beach county that I've ever seen, as opposed to Thai/sushi or some other pan-Asian. The fish is fresh, the service friendly. The servers actually know what they're talking about when it comes to sushi. The only downsides are they're often packed and parking is extremely limited. Like most places with good food on this part of the world the decor is divey but it's clean.

Its so good we came back again on the same day. We had lunch and talked with the chef, went fishing, came back with a red snapper. We asked the chef to make something with it and he very impressively made 5 mouth-watering dishes from the one fish, including sashimi sushi, tempura fish roll, clear soup, and fried fish. My son is a picky eater, and so the very accommodating waitress offered a delicious pork cutlet dish. I am so amazed at how creative the chef is. Highly reccomend this to those who want a friendly Japanese experience beyond California rolls.

It was hard to choose between 4-5 because there are several amazing sushi places nearby and giving one a 5 should mean a lot. Well this place earns it. It's fresh, it's thoughtfully combined, it has classics and some nice new takes on popular ingredients. The server and overall staff was wonderful. The spicy octopus is fried and that worried me a bit but my doubt melted away similar to how those pieces of octopus melted in my mouth! Slight hint of spice so def not spicy in the classical term but it has a nice gentle kick. Texture was spot on. Sauce is great. This was a great start. Miso was also too legit to quit. Then the tina tataki and hamachi jalapeño came and bumped it up several notches. Wow what fresh and absolutely tender fish. So yummy. We had a KC roll that was also very fresh. Salmon and avocado was perfect. All of a sudden, when we thought things couldn't get any better... we order the best rainbow roll I've had in months. Maybe longer. It's like they specifically chose the best cuts of fish they could find and then found the most perfectly ripe avocado and also used them on this roll. It was the reason this place needs more than 4. Iced green tea was good and dessert was a showstopper. Fried banana is a MUST! Idc if you're too full, order this. It's light and it's life changing haha ok maybe that's a tad much but it's day-changing for sure. Good job Sushi Bon

If you like sushi, and great quality fish, than this is your New Favorite Sushi spot! Authentic sushi made by an authentic Japanese chef. The sushi rice, taste, like it should not overpowering of vinegar like other wannabe sushi restaurants. Sushi Bon Express is awesome, chef buys local caught fish also... this is the Fresh Fresh!!

Amazing service and the sushi is so fresh and well made! Definitely try out their local fish options, we got the grouper and snapper and both were amazing! Also highly recommend the spicy tuna on crispy rice

Place is the best in the area, bar none. Always fresh and always great food. Whenever I'm visiting in Palm Beach area I will be here for dinner.

*REPOST FROM A FRIEND* PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT Who thinks all black people and Hispanics dine and dash! sooooo we were eating at "Sushi Bon Express" and having a business meeting. Not even 5 minutes after we received our check from our waiter comes up to us saying we need to pay. Then proceeded to start raising his voice, so I'm like, "are you raising your voice at me?!" My friend noticed that the waiter was getting closer to me so she started recording because he had a whole lot to say with his hands. They close at 3pm but 3:05 he was rushing us out!! I always see videos like this but now I feel the anger that most of us experience when we get racially profiled.

I'm generally a fan. Their lunch deal is great. I had one meal where I felt I was overcharged but let it slide. Keep your eyes on the bill but enjoy the fish.

Great sushi. Ebi the owner is gracious and engaging. Sweet shrimp, uni were standouts.

Love this place, for any occasion. Service is fast, hot sake is good. Try the spicy wahoo, OMG is so fresh! Mexican, spicy tuna, volcano. Literally every roll is good. Updating: HOT incredible, hand rolls out of control, sashimi appetizer never fails.

My fiancé is half Japanese and he raves about this place every time. I brought my Japanese father-in-law here, he loves his authentic sushi, and it was a hit! I believe the owners are Japanese as well. The chef will buy fresh fish right off of the drift boats that come in to the dock. Just ask them what's freshly caught!!! This place has no frills, nothing fancy, just good clean sushi and a friendly atmosphere. Very fairly priced. Outdoor seating is dog friendly.

The food is sushi Bon kind of a great mixed bag. Truly very good with a couple of mediocre items. I mean how can you appreciate the truly great if you don't have some mediocre food every so often. I started with the green salad with a ginger dressing. The dressing was one of the best Ginger Asian dressing's that I have ever tasted. The greens were fresh and crisp as were the other vegetables in the salad. . I then ordered the sushi assorted dinner. The quality of the sushi was excellent except I think it was cut too thick. The fish has to be cut a certain way to bring the most flavor out of it. It's not that it was bad it's just could have been better. The salmon was excellent as was the tuna and white fish. All in all a winner and about this close to great.

This place is another go-to weekly staple. Cute tiki bar outdoor seating atmosphere, great sushi with a variety of specials using locally caught fish, reasonable prices, and friendly and fast service. An absolute must try for a casual local sushi dinner - you will not be disappointed!

Its worth the drive up from Broward!!! Sushi Bon is located next to a pier and the chef is known to catch fish in the day and serve it for dinner, talk about fresh. They have some original, unique dishes, very tasty I might add. The waitstaff was very friendly. My friend ordered saki and gave the sushi chefs and the waitress a "shot". He says its traditional in Japan to do so. The place is tiny inside and does have outdoor seating. I enjoyed the taste and the freshness of the items. Parking in the lot next door or at the restaurant next door.

I would have liked to eat here but we pulled into the parking lot behind the restaurant and all the signs say "Marina Parking Only" so I called the restaurant and asked the guy if we could park there and he yelled at me in some bad English and hung up. So we left. Why would you do that to a customer who is literally about to walk in your doors and spend money?????

I just relocated to this area and decided I tried this sushi place for first time. They messed up my order . When I got home waited to eat with my daughter. When I called the owner was ABSOLUTELY RUDE DISRESPECTFUL. You would think during COVID we are trying to keep locals in business. However this man dies not care either way. I would never recommend this place. We also got sick from the sushi not sure if it's fresh.

This place has some of the best sushi I've had in a long, long time. The cuts of fish on the nigiri are generous and super fresh. The rolls are amazingly well designed and constructed with the same very fresh ingredients as the nigiri. We will most definitely be back the next time I'm in town. Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful experience.

I was really hoping to like this place but I have to say that everything about my experience was mediocre to average. First off, let's start with the staff. There were three different young ladies as well as a male who I believe may have been a manager or an owner based on the way he carried himself. All of them were quite prompt and attentive, however it was clear from the very first moment of being there that the staff appears to be lacking direction and training from management. I don't want to call them rude necessarily, they just seemed as if they had not been trained on how to really engage with the guests... The best description I can give would be that they just weren't that friendly or engaging... very abrupt, like the service you get when you walk into a Dunkin' Donuts in Boston. The young woman who I believe was my actual server (only guessing this since she's the one who took my food order) did not appear to have ever even eaten here considering every single entrée I asked her about, she was unable to give me any feedback of her own. She couldn't even accurately describe one of the entrées that I asked about; which was a "blue crab" special. Anyone who has eaten out at a seafood restaurant would have had some sort of an idea of what this dish was immediately after looking at it, it was a crabcake. As for the food, again it was mediocre. I had the miso soup, steamed pork and shrimp dumplings, the Fried "blue crab" (what most people would call a crabcake), A tempura wahoo role, and the dancing shrimp roll. The miso soup was very good. The dumplings were also pretty good. You should note, these dumplings are smoking hot when they come out of that steamer so I will suggest letting them cool a little bit. Unfortunately those two appetizers or really the highlight of the whole experience. The fried blue crab (as they call it), was this really weird textured, bland fried crabcake kind of thing is the best way I can describe it. I was not able to find any kind of sauce that improve the taste. The tempura wahoo roll was extremely over cooked. The fish literally tasted like an over cooked, unseasoned, fried chicken breast. Much like the crabcake I could not find any kind of sauce I might apply to help because on this one. The dancing shrimp roll, which is supposedly a spicy tuna roll topped with steam shrimp wasn't bad, but again was average at best. I can say with great certainty that if given an opportunity to eat here or pick up sushi from someplace like fresh market, or even Publix, the grocery stores would get my business if this were my only local sushi option in this area. Man, I am really getting sick of writing bad reviews of places. I swear that seems to be the theme for me in Florida. It's as if none of these people give a crap because there's a revolving door of Tourist.

One of the best sushi places i have ever had! We ordered fresh catches of fish in a spicy sushi rolls and some specialty rolls. Each roll was delicious, the cuts of fish were generous, full of flavor, and very fresh. The crispy rice tuna app was amazing! I highly recommend this place. We found our go to sushi spot!

The people who work here are super friendly. A few days ago I was driving home from work, and wanted to get some sushi on the fly. Thanks to Yelp, I found that Sushi Bon Express was nearby. I called them to place a pick-up order 20 minutes before they were closing for their restaurant's break (between lunch and dinner). The man who answered was really nice and informative. I reassured him that I was already on my way and would be there before 3:00 PM. I ordered a couple shrimp tempura rolls made with soy paper (instead of nori / seaweed). They only charge $0.50 per roll for soy paper, which is the lowest I've ever seen. When I arrived, the owners and workers were sitting at a table preparing to eat lunch together. On my way out, they said goodbye and thanked me. Something that simple put a smile on my face. Interestingly, rather than the shrimp tempura rolls being made from one large shrimp, the inside of the rolls revealed that two smaller pieces of shrimp were used. I haven't seen this done before, and I was a little disappointed. I always look forward to biting into a nice piece of crunchy shrimp, but these rolls had small pieces that were not crunchy. Still, it tasted good, especially with the spicy mayo I ordered. Each sushi roll was 10 pieces, which was nice - most places only give you 8 or 6. While the shrimp tempura rolls weren't the best I've had, they still tasted good and the employees are so friendly. I'll stop by Sushi Bon Express another time and try some other items on their menu.

All my Japanese friends have been coming here talking highly about this place. I always wanted to come. Very friendly. More as a drinker myself after some unique and excellent appetizers with hot sake, we close the night with some Ikura and Uni sushis. They were so good and fresh. I totally see myself becoming a regular here.

My friend brought me here, so I could expand my culinary horizon. I went, albeit reluctantly. And my, oh my - was I ever converted. Fresh, delicious, not too big rolls. My favorites: spicy salmon with avocado, spicy tuna, catch of the day, smoked eel. Loved the two different seaweed salad options. I will travel to Sushi Bon any day to enjoy quality sushi prepared by a sushi master. 5 Stars!!!!

Possibly the best Sushi in the Palm Beach and it's not just the raw which seem fresh off the boat. The cooked dishes are totally original and imaginative. Especially love the shito stuffed with shrimp and Hamachi Kama.

These reviews are lying, honestly I usually go to the sushi place on Hypo and Lawrence. I paid $20 for sushi that had no taste and it wasn't sticky it was falling apart it was very dry it tasted worse than Publix sushi. This is just a tourist trap....

Chef knows what he is doing BUT don't expect any customer service. They have a happy hour BUT it seems like they don't really want you to order from the happy hour menu.. BUT again everything is really good! Worth trying!

From the outside you're not sure on whether to take a Chance . In my mind I'm thinking surfer guys are trying their hand at Sushi. Well wrong, enter & all employees are Japanese, what a pleasant surprise. Sat & ordered Fresh Fish Rolls & Eel Rolls. So delicious !! Was so happy with my find that my husband & I returned for dinner that evening. We both had fresh grilled fish & vegetables. All was delicious.

This place is incredible. So unassuming, but they have a great menu of fresh fish caught locally that they use for their sushi rolls and the sushi is sooo fresh. I have been here like 5 times in the last couple weeks because I can't get enough. I recommend the grouper volcano roll, and the red snapper spicy roll.

We enjoyed the House Salad with Ginger Dressing. You can taste that it is homemade. We ordered the Triple Spicy roll and two Eel Handrolls and they were very fresh & tasty. Wonderful service as well. We would definitely visit this establishment again if we were in the area.

This is a nice place but the food quality wasn't quite what I'd hoped for. The quality and texture of the rolls just wasn't the greatest. Not bad but also not anything I'd want to come back to. The rice may have been a bit under cooked so it had a slight hardness to it. I agree with other reviewers that the service here is great and the folks who work here are really nice. I may be a bit more critical when it comes sushi restaurants but it's a high end product and it's not easy to correctly prepare. Restaurants charge a high price for this product so the expectation should meet the cost. For that reason I'd suggest coming here for lunch and taking advantage of the specials. I never like to rate below 4 stars but I've been here twice and neither time was I very satisfied with the product.

I live close an this place and is amazingly fresh Daily fish in a tempura roll is very different than any other sushi place I've been to Wish they were open 7 days a week an had delivery Parking sometimes a problem to get something to go

I was extremely disappointed to learn that Sushi Bon is under new ownership. When I googled the menu, I was lead to their Facebook account. I called and placed an order. Upon arriving to pick up my food I was presented with a bill that was approx $60 more than the amount from the menu. When I questioned it, they told me that they have a new menu. They said that they had no idea about the Facebook page. That is really bad business and they should've accepted the amounts listed on the old menu. That is classic bait & switch! Aside from that, the food didn't seem fresh and the ginger dressing wasn't tasty at all. Most of the food was thrown out. The only reason I would give them 1 star is because they are local but I will not be returning and I urge you not to as well.

Horrible service would never come back to this place. Also the good takes forever. The food is okay, I've had better sushi but the overall experience is fresh. Poetically everyone so works there is short and ill tempered, which is odd cause they work in a service industry.

Food is amazing. Their fish is of very good quality and they certainly give you a good amount. Best sushi in Boynton. They are always attentive and food comes out quick.
