After a 10+ hour trip from San Francisco, we stopped at Sumathi for Indian food. South Indian dishes are only on Sundays, but the owner still checked if they could make a dosa for me, which was very kind. We ordered matar paneer and rotis, which tasted home-cooked and comforting. The chai was amazing; we ended up ordering a second one.
The host was friendly and speaks multiple languages. They also went above & beyond and helped arrange a taxi right outside the restaurant to take us to the water taxi station, which was very convenient.
Only minor downside was that he got a bit too chatty and made comments about how much we ate & my body/weight, which felt unnecessary. Otherwise, good food and a warm experience overall.
