"Tucked away on an outcropping of limestone, this family-owned vineyard focuses on Syrah and Roussanne grapes, which they tend through sustainable and natural dry farming techniques. They take just as much care post harvest, using native fermentation techniques whenever possible. While they only offer private tours of the vineyard, they have tasting rooms in both Los Olivos and Lompoc. "

My girlfriend brought this home from a bridal shower (gift) she attended. I can say without any hesitation it was without question the worst bottle of wine either of us ever tasted. Mind you you my Italian import dad made his own horrible wine in the 70s and it tasted like gasoline. 2 sips and down the drain. Can't speak to the restaurant but this was truly aweful.

Cute tasting room in the bustling town of Los Olivos. Order a tasting flight for a full spectrum of the vineyards productions, or order single glasses. Lisa, our server, was extremely friendly and proudly flaunted her knowledgeable about the wines.

Google
Label this as a must stop! Not only are the wines delicious, the staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of their product. We will 100% be back here in the future. Don’t hesitate, go grab a glass or few bottles. And their pup is awesome too!

We had a wonderful tasting at the Stolpman patio in Los Olivos. Lisa was super friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. Her enthusiasm and passion for the Stolpman brand as a whole was truly visible and ultimately led to our decision to join the wine club. We look forward to future experiences at Stolpman because of people like her.

My friends and I went wine tasting for our Bachelorette weekend. Matty was amazing and knowledgeable about the wine. He was super nice and provided us with amazing recommendations. The wine menu was presented to us on arrival. The wine tasting had 6 different wines from rose to white and red. The wine was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxing! I would highly recommend Stolpman Vineyards and ask for Matty because he is amazing!

Best winery in Santa Ynez Valley by a country mile. Phenomenal stuff. 🍷🍷

Yelp
Outstanding patio seating with great service. Lisa was our guide. Her depth of knowledge was expansive. The wines were delicious. The winery family is pro humanity. They treat their employees with respect and dignity. They offer a varietal bottling that all funds go to the staff and is equally shared. Some of the labels represent long term employees. The juice is tasty Very highly recomended Slainte

Yelp
A Gem in Los Olivos! Great wines and a nice tasting room to relax and enjoy the delicious sips. If you're a wine enthusiast or just looking for a memorable winery experience in Los Olivos, Stolpman Vineyards is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you arrive, it's clear that this place is all about quality and hospitality. The tasting room at Stolpman is warm and inviting, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about their wines, eager to share their expertise and guide you through a tasting that's both enjoyable and educational. The beautiful views of the surrounding landscape make it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your tasting. The wines themselves are exceptional. Stolpman is known for its robust and flavorful selections, and its offerings certainly live up to the hype. Whether you're a fan of bold reds or more nuanced varietals, there's something here that will impress. One of the highlights of the visit is the opportunity to learn about the vineyard's sustainable farming practices. It's fascinating to see how they balance tradition with innovation to produce such outstanding wines. Overall, Stolpman Vineyards offers a top-notch wine-tasting experience with fantastic wines, a friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. If you're in the Los Olivos area, make sure to add Stolpman to your itinerary--you won't be disappointed! ---

Yelp
WHAT A FIND! I did my fair share of wine tasting in the area and Stolpman is the only one I came back to for a second round. The spot couldn't have a cozier patio in front, but the wines are delicious too! If you're lucky enough to have Nicole be your guide, sit back and enjoy. She is so knowledgeable and friendly! Can't wait to return!

Timothy B.

Yelp
Fantastic wines! Great service! If you're in Los Olivos, don't miss! Adding more characters for the algorithm...

Joy J.

Yelp
The service here is really great and the wine is also very good. Last time I visited, I signed up for their all reds wine club. I'm still waiting for my first shipment, so I bought a few bottles while I was there to hold me over. They have a nice patio out front that is shaded. They also have out houses in the back for when nature calls.

Amanda K.

Yelp
Great wines! Definitely worth a stop if you're tasting in Los Olivos. Peaceful ambiance tasting on the patio. Our favorite was the Sangiovese! Cheers!

Kelly S.

Yelp
A friend invited me to go wine tasting and I'm shocked I've never been to Stolpman! I love all of the wine, starting with the unfiltered Chardonnay which has such a unique flavor. The La Cuadrilla is a red blend that has a very fruit forward flavor and all proceeds go back to vineyard workers to help provide stability after harvest. I love that they care so much about their team! Lisa was our server and not only was she extremely knowledgeable about all of the wines, but was able to tell us about the history of the vineyard and you can see her passion for her role as she pours and educates guests about the wine. They have a huge patio for large groups and we were offered blankets since it was a bit chilly. They are dog friendly too which is always a plus! Looking forward to coming back soon.

Jessica K.

Yelp
We have been members at Stolpman for a couple of years and they never fail to impress us. Most recently we had Kim assist us with our tasting and she is an absolute gem!!! She is so knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I cant rave enough about the integrity of this company and their stellar service.

Joseph D.

Yelp
Beat winery visit ever. The wines are amazing but the family and the team are even better! Plus they are dog people.

Eve V.

Yelp
I Loved their selection of wines so much, I became a member. A rule I was told once by friends that are wine enthusiasts, is that if you like ALL the wines you taste in a tasting consider becoming a member, and so I did. Every taste I had was well balanced, with easy and clean flavor profiles. Ricki our wine sage was very helpful and very knowledgeable, she guided our journey with grace and spatial awareness. The ambiance was chill vibes and if you're chilly they offer cozy blankets.

Ann D.

Yelp
Our wine tasting was great. We made a reservation on Saturday. You need to make a reservation at least a day in advance. They have great bucket seats for couples and for bigger groups they have picnic tables. I love being part of their cuadrilla club because you still get a discount on their other wines and the cuadrilla club wines are still pretty good.

Kellie R.

Yelp
Lovely wines, great service! Coming back in May and bringing friends! We found out about this winery from our hotel. They were serving it happy hour. It was the Santa Ynez Inn but has now changed its name.

Heather L.

Yelp
Relaxing atmosphere on their outdoor patio. The service is always wonderful. Great place to finish the weekend.

Aaron P.

Yelp
We were recently sitting in traffic on the way back from LA and wanted to stretch our legs a bit and explore somewhere we'd never been before. I heard a lot about Los Olivos, but had never visited so we took a quick detour from the highway and headed to the quaint downtown. Temperatures were heating up, so we were glad to see this little pocket tasting area with ample shade for us and the dog. The "chilled reds" sign also was I intriguing. The wine definitely hit the spot. Easy drinking and not all that heavy, it was the perfect complement for the high Temps. Our server Ashkahn was helpful and attentive and knew alot about the processes used in the wines. At $15/flight the prices were similar to other wineries in the area. We left with a bottle of Crunchy Roasty that our friends also raved about. We will def be making this a regular stop on those long treks home!

Monica R.

Yelp
Had reservations at both the Garage and the Vineyard and at both places staff was extremely rude from the get go. It didn't get any better as time went on. We ended up leaving before we even finished the wine tasting because the service was so rude and the wine was gross :-(

Richie D.

Yelp
Rarely do you hear such high reviews and remarks for a business, and then your visit or experience in person is even better than expected! I suppose I'm use to being disappointed...but Stolpman NEVER disappoints! Since those three trustworthy recommendations to go to Stolpman (plus stellar Yelp reviews), I have become a wine club member, visited their private property twice and have gone to their Stolpman tasting room (and So Fresh Garage) on countless occasions. Here are a few adjectives that come to mind when thinking about Stolpman Vineyards: FAMILY ORIENTED: The Stolpman family not only cares for their land, but also their employees. I have met Tom and his son Pete who are extremely down to earth. With their workers in mind, they created a La Cuadrilla ("The Block") label and club where all the proceeds go back to those who take care of the vineyard in the form of benefits and a financial bonus. Rubén, the winemaker and grape whisperer, has his home on the property with his wife María. María manages the vineyard team and has her own wine label called "Para María" consisting of both a Mourvedre Rose and Red blend. Furthermore, they have become part of not only the vineyard business but also the Stolpman family with Rubén as the padrino/godfather for Pete's children. FRIENDLY: I always find their Los Olivos tasting room extremely welcoming and friendly. Although not the fanciest of options in Los Olivos, their ranch-looking home has a large outdoor porch and patio with tables. Every time I walk up to the gate, they welcome us with a smile. Even better, the vineyard performs conscious and dry farming (when possible) using native fermentation and minimal manipulation. A nod to Mother Nature! Oh, and did I mention they love dogs?! Be sure to check out @dogs_of_stolpman on Instagram. VARIETY: Unlike most wineries in the Santa Ynez Valley, Stolpman comes to mind when looking for a delicious Sangiovese--NOT the locally renowned Pinot Noir! They are also constantly expanding their varietals beyond the expectations. There is honestly something for everyone. Whether it is their crisp Uni Roussanne, or a complex GSM blend. For those who like cold, drinkable carbonic wines, they also offer the So Fresh Garage for a hip, affordable, pool-pounder option. Their tastings are included for all the club members too. PRICE-POINT: Their wines vary from crazy affordable yet local "table wines" (which is better quality yet similar price than what Trader joe's offers), to high-end Estate wines (Pilocene, Hair of the Bear, La Croce and Angeli). No matter what you have in your wallet, you will walk away with a stellar bottle of local wine. A few tips for your visit: - Make a reservation via Tock for their tasting room, particularly during the weekend. - Their vineyard in Ballard Canyon is strictly by appointment only but absolutely stunning. Release wine taco parties are often held here. Don't miss out on seeing the Mother Vine or the graceful Oak Tree. - Feel free to bring your dog along. After all, they're family. - If you have a group that isn't knowledgeable about wine, this is a wonderful place to bring them as an introduction to wine tasting without being pretentious. ¡Salud!

Yelp
A big THANK YOU to Lisa for a wonderful time yesterday. I've been coming to Stolpman for years and have always had a great experience. Lisa was so great, I felt I had to leave a review.

Michael T.

Yelp
When visiting Los Olivos, you had TONS of options. It's literally a town of nothing both 50-100 tasting rooms. While I'd love to hit up as many as possible in a day... in reality, if you're tasting responsibly, there's a limit to how many you can hit in a day (if you know what I mean). So one must be selective. Stolpman Vineyards doesn't disappoint! They have really excellent wine that is definitely in my top five tasting rooms in Los Olivos. Nichole was doing our tasting and she was lovely. Really attentive and excited about the wines. You could tell she really took pride in the company which is great to see. She was really knowledgable. It was actually a bit chilly the day we were there and they provided everyone who tasted outside with amazing cozy blankets. Oh! And I should mention that the reason why we were outside is that they have a beautiful front lawn area where they allow you to bring in food. So we got sandwiches and salads at Panino, just diagonally across the street and ate it here while tasting. Another nice thing is that they actually have their own bathrooms here. This would be a great addition to your perfect Los Olivos day.

Yelp
This has been on our wish list for so long esp coz my husband just loves their Syrah. Tasting is by appointment only due to COVID. They offer tasting by glass or tasting menu that includes mix of white, rose and reds. We were seated in their beautiful patio. Hubby opted for their tasting menu ($15) I opted for a glass of their white blend L'Avion. Service was fantastic, Natalie and Nate went above and beyond to make this such a fun wine tasting experience. Getting to know the story behind their La Cuadrilla wine was amazing, not to mention that was our favorite wine on the menu. We loved every single wine we tried and became members. This place has a great vibe and I love how all employees work together as a team! I highly recommend a visit here if you are in the area.

Yelp
My husband and I took a mini honeymoon to Napa, CA. On our way we were lucky enough to get a very special one on one wine tasting at Stolpman Vineyards. Our host Nicole was the perfect match for our energy, and personality. Getting to sit at the on-site picnic area, enjoying the delicious wines, and hearing the story behind each one as we sit under "The Oak-tree" that has been on the land for decades. It was just an all around delightful experience. Thank you Nicole for taking such great care of us!

Yelp
Great setting in downtown Los Olivod. Very knowledgeable host named Mary listened to our preferences and served is accordingly. Good array of red and white wines to choose from.

Gnarles M.

Yelp
What a comfortable and welcoming place to enjoy their wines. The staff were helpful in describing the wines and suggesting pairing ideas.

Alexis N.

Yelp
This is my favorite tasting room in Los Olivos. I love the patio, friendly staff, and great wines. I love the El Padrino wine! I am not a big fan of So Fresh but I really really love the classic Stolpman wines. I would recommend making a reservation.

Babbie F.

Yelp
Love your wines and your service! Just had lunch at Jame in El Segundo and we're so happy to see they're carrying Love you Bunches (Sangiovese). Of course enjoyed a glass. Never disappoint.

Rosquete B.

Yelp
p5* Stolpman Winetasting 2434 Alamo Pintado Los Olivos HIGHLY RECOMMEND Outdoor winetasting; super friendly staff Great selection of wines; very creative Loved La Cuadrilla Sustainable harvests; Good treatment of field workers

Kim F.

Yelp
Absolutely the best service and was our 1st time visiting! Mary was great and shared the history and we did the wine tasting. We joined and we are so excited and also bought 6 bottles of the wine including the bottles that are the farmer wine.

Warren E.

Yelp
Excellent wine and the owner Tom Stolpman is a great host and will sit down with you if he's in the tasting room to explain the wine and the production which is done by Ruben

Erin W.

Yelp
I love Stolpman wine, especially the love you bunches so I included the winery in my birthday itinerary. I had a group of 12, all of us in our 30s and long-time Santa Barbara locals, so I made 2 reservations for 6, 15 minutes apart and requested the tables be near each other if possible but that I understood if it couldn't be done. A few days before the reservation I got an email from the manager saying they never allow large parties and requested that we respect the servers. I found that to be rather odd as they didn't know me, my friends, the itinerary, or the occasion. I do realize large parties can be rude and obnoxious but I didn't love being written off before we even got there. I grew up with parents working in service and I ALWAYS tip well and I have a ton of respect for people in that industry. Once we arrived, a woman took six of us to our table and proceeded to (yet again) remind us that they *never* take large parties and she couldn't believe they approved this reservation. We were not to get up and mingle with our friends at the other table which was about 10 feet away from ours. The server also poured us tastings before asking what we wanted. Overall the wine was great as usual but the experience was patronizing and seemed like the winery felt they were doing us a great favor by letting us spend our money there. Can't say I will be back unless I go with my friends that are members, we are always treated like we belong there in those instances. For comparison, we also visited Future Perfect that day and Sunshine and her team couldn't have been more enthusiastic and accommodating.

Debra S.

Yelp
Was totally shocked we were turned away due to no availability but we walked away and were able to make a reservation for 3 minutes later. Wines were good though

Alma C.

Yelp
I am a fan of la cuadrilla, so fresh, and all their wines really. The wines are like the energy of their tasting room, fun, friendly, & unpretentious. Visit them, and thank me later. Bring your own bread and cheese, or bring a yummy sandwich from the place across the street.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Great wine and the staff was very knowledgeable about the grapes and process. I thought the wine was worth the price.

Jenn T.

Yelp
This review is for the Fresh Garage tasting area on the side of the Stolpman tasting room. The Garage has carbonic natural wines, while the patio has Stolpman's classic wines. We got tastings and we had the best time. Service was amazing and the staff answered all of our questions and even brought out a few additional things for us to try based on our tastes. Try the love you bunches and combe trousseau. Also the tasting area is so cute! Loved this place, can't recommend it enough.t

Daniel G.

Yelp
Pretty solid tasting room. I came here because I saw a special about Stolpman on Somm TV. It said they specialize in Syrah and I like Syrah. I found their high end wines a bit disappointing, but they have some solid cheaper wines. The outside tasting area is nice, although not fancy. Covered by trees with basic seating, you're served wines from a Coleman cooler. It definitely feels like a more rural, casual winery. The bathrooms are porta potties. No one is taking themselves too seriously here. We tasted 6 wines, I disliked the whites and the high-end wines were overpriced for what they were. But the mid-range reds were quite good. They make varietal Sangiovese which isn't common in these parts (or the US in general) and it's quite authentic to Italian Sangiovese. The Syrah blend ("La Cuadrilla") is solid and reminded me of a good Cotes du Rhone. I took home some bottles of these two wines. This was a nice change of pace from some other wineries we went to on this trip that did take themselves too seriously. I might come back when I'm in town again.

Amber E.

Yelp
We stopped in here on the recommendation of a friend on our way up to Paso Robles, and so glad we did! They have a lovey outside seating area, and we had two chairs under their huge, beautiful persimmon tree. It was an unusual day weatherwise - hot, but with a few sprinkles of rain, perfect for their famous rose. The woman who poured our wine were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. We also really enjoyed their Sangiovese, and ended up purchasing 2 bottles of the Rose and a bottle of the Sangio (one tasting fee waived w/ 3 bottle purchase). We heard a couple at another table say that this was a must-stop for them in Los Olivos, and it will definitely be the same for us.

Chris R.

Yelp
Stellar Syrah and Grenache and a gorgeous outdoor patio to help stay COVID precaution compliant! The hilltops Syrah in particular was a standout for me and they even have some carbonic wines that are pretty interesting to try!

Lauren C.

Yelp
We've been coming up to Santa Ynez from LA for wine tasting getaways for the past several years. Our friends are huge fans of Stolpman and after wine tasting with them here we totally understood the hype and immediately became members! Natural wines have been becoming more and more popular these days and we've been enjoying them a lot during the summer since they're served best chilled. When we found out that Stolpman opened up a Fresh Garage patio featuring their natural wines, we knew we had to try it asap. Ash, the manager who opened up the Fresh Garage Patio was not only extremely knowledgeable about the wines but was charming with a warm welcome. He made us feel right at home and couldn't have been kinder to us and our pups. The "Love You bunches" Sangiovese is definitely their most popular natural wine that is their best seller and for good reasons! But we also fell in love with the "Own Rooted Field Blend", a gsm that's 40% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache and 30% Syrah. We left with that blend and The "Syrah So Hot Right Now" because it was a perfect natural Syrah. These reds served chilled are a must in the summer heat and we'll be coming back here as soon as possible. Thanks guys for the great wine and great hospitality!

Mohib Q.

Yelp
I had the chance to briefly visit Stoplman tasting room upon a visit to Los Olivos and found it to be a nice little off-strip winery with a small crowd. Many people were frequenting this place upon their visit to other rooms, and upon passing the gate to this re-purposed house, I was greeted by a little dog who followed me into the main area. While it took a few minutes to get the attention of staff, I was able to note my quick visit and that I wouldn't have time to really taste much. Instead, I noted that I wanted to take something to go and, if anything, get an idea as to what they had and run with it. They completely understood and were accommodating enough to let me taste three wines before making a selection of the limited 2013 Syrah ($42 at the time and $45.26 with tax). It was as smooth as it could get, with little acidity and bold fruit flavors. It is very dark in color compared to many other Syrahs you may come across, and probably one of the more talked-about wines in the area. I'll definitely be back again upon my next visit to Los Olivos.

Allison E.

Yelp
We had a lovely tasting experience here after coming from a spot in town which was not so lovely. The hostess seated us (reservation required) and moved seats for us once finding out we were two people and it was really hot to a nice comfy secluded spot. It was a small gesture that she had no idea went a long way since we just came from a place who was super rude to us when we asked to move and their establishment was empty! The wines here are some of my fav in the area. Their whites are great and Syrahs are incredible. Ash helped us and he was lovely and set it up so we could go to the vineyard today to enjoy one of the bottles we purchased. Can't wait to be back!

Kaya E.

Yelp
Great wine and a great time. During my visit to the Santa Ynez area there are sooo many wine tasting options. Stolpman vineyards is by far the best option. Their tasting was filled with delicious wines (almost all I loved)! There's great outdoor seating if you want to bring your dog. The best part is that right next to their original location they have a newer hipper version called the fresh garage. They had one of my favorites, the love you bunches! My friend got a membership which was an awesome offer, I'll be back to visit the next time I'm in town.

Myrna G.

Yelp
A beautiful day and a wonderful staff. Everyone was kind and the ambiance was pet friendly and very relaxing. We mentioned it was my sisters birthday and they were so sweet. Thank you for allowing us to bring in food as well.

Kelsey S.

Yelp
Excellent experience with lovely tasting room servers. We loved the sangio! Would certainly come back...they took all the precautions and we felt very safe. Lovely weather on a Tuesday in November. Their Roussanne/Chardonnay blend L'Avion is excellent and hits the palate beautifully in the morning hours. Would certainly check this out if you are in the area! Nick was a gem! Thanks for helping us out!

Jennifer N.

Yelp
We are members at Stolpman for years and members at 5 other wineries. Lisa is the best server we have ever had. She is so personable, friendly, informative and just REAL! She made our vacation to the winery's the best. We stolpman wines but even better Lisa.

Annie S.

Yelp
I enjoy both sides of the Stolpman tasting room (the traditional and So Fresh Garage), but I especially love the So Fresh Garage side. Stolpman is fantastic for a number of reasons - great wine, sustainable practices, strong relationships with farmworkers, friendly customer service, etc. - and I admire their approach to the "So Fresh" and "Combe" labels. The "So Fresh" and "Combe" wines lean natural without being overly natty, and it is evident from the wines that Stoplman makes winemaking decisions based upon what is going to taste best, as opposed to making everything orange and bitter because that's what is cool these days. (For the record, I actually liked their orange wine!) Our server was so lovely and knowledgeable, and she offered us a few off-menu pours, which was very kind. We walked away with four bottles for ~$100 (their wines are so reasonably priced), and we will be back!

Adrian F.

Yelp
We started our wine club membership about a year ago, but due to covid and availability, this was our first visit to this tasting area. We immensely enjoyed the amazing and informative gentleman (Andreas) that provided an awesome tasting experience. We also were blessed with his recommendations for dining in the area. The varietals here are some of my favorites and at a great price point. Even on a hot summer day, the water misters and breeze along with their rose make up for it.

Danielle F.

Yelp
We are big fans of this winery- wines are always good, some years better than others but well done and reasonable. The tasting room has a cute patio where we are usually well taken care of, it's very pleasant to hang out there. Wine events are always fun, we've had a great time over the years as wine club members attending their very well put together events. The vineyard itself is beautiful and wonderful to have a picnic.

Kristen T.

Yelp
Cannot say enough about this place. It's our favorite little tasting room in Los Olivos and we always make a stop for it. One of the more reasonably priced tastings in the area, for $20 you can try 6 of their newest and their staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. We love when wineries value natural, bio-dynamic wine making and these guys are masters at it. Also their patio is simply beautiful, with the big persimmon tree and perfect picnic tables it's everything you want in a relaxing wine tasting. Try the Sangiovese, it's the sleeper hit.

Aaron W.

Yelp
Exquisite wines, knowledgeable staff and frequent amazing wine club events. Remarkable pricing for the highest of quality in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Michaele Francesco C.

Yelp
The wine wasn't great, but the staff was friendly! I had a flight and most of the wines were very underwhelming. There were also dogs on the property running around. While it created a light mood, it was evident that some of the patrons were bothered by their rowdiness. Since there are so many great places to wine taste nearby, I'd advise trying some place else.

Emily F.

Yelp
Lovely little winery in los Olivos. We stopped in for a tasting and ended up loving everything we tried. We both love rosé and their Grenache rosé has easily become one of our favorites. We ended up joining their wine club as it was reasonably priced for great wine and a lovely place to go for tasting with friends! Highly recommend you stop by this great tasting room and enjoy their wine as much as we do!
