First off, impossible to get to without paying to enter skansen!! You have to buy a ticket to enter skansen to visit them, however if you return within 30 minutes of purchase they will refund you. This leaves you with 15 or so minutes to have a look around. Very interesting to see them the glassblowers at work, fascinating as always. Some absolutely amazing animal pieces varying drastically in size. Certainly one of the more pricer glassblowers I've been too, escpessially if you are just buying something small, but for the larger pieces which are so unique the price really isn't important. Some incredible art works and really something for everyone. Worth the visit and the hassle to do so.

Definitely worth visiting while you’re in Skansen, it’s fascinating to watch them work on the glass. Doesn’t hurt that the guy working there is really cute as well. :> You do need a ticket for Skansen to get in here, make sure to check out the pottery story and the bakery as well!

Yelp
Many years ago (before Yelp!), I used to travel, a LOT. Now not so much. During these travels, I got to go to places I thought I wouldn't be able to go to in a million years. Stockholm being one of those places. A glass blower on an island named Skansen (http://www.skansen.se/en/) would be beyond that even more. In the town quarter of Skansen- it is modeled after what a Swedish village looked like in the 1880's, and a lot of the things they do are true to the form over 130 years ago- including the glass blowing. I had the pleasure to check out the glass blower- and I was in awe. No, this isn't your Murano glass or your Chihuly vases, this is your old school, traditional Swedish glass blowing. It was a humbling experience and the stuff they make is quality, and appealing to the eye. Let's put it this way- if Customs wasn't such a pain in the ass, I would have brought a lot more stuff home. Everything in their gift shop was handblown in the shop, and with the blue crown (or Krona) sticker for authenticity. I ended up getting my sister a penguin, and her husband a reindeer. 8 years later, they look as beautiful as they did when I got them. If you ever want to check out a quaint, off the beaten path glass blower with decent prices- you gotta come to Skansen to check it out!

Yelp
Would not recommend buying anything from AB Stockholms Glasbruk in Skansen Open Air Museum I bought a beautifully blown glass penguin from AB Stockholms Glasbruk. I asked the owner to please wrap my penguin carefully because I was going home on an airplane. Unfortunately it was not wrapped well and the wing of the penguin was broken when I arrived home in Israel. I wrote to the man who had sold it to me and asked what he could do about it. He refused to help me and said that it was not his responsibility even though he wrapped it for me. He should have known the proper way to wrap a glass penguin with open wings. My penguin is ruined and I cannot find anybody to repair it. I don't believe that this is appropriate Customer Service and I would not recommend that individuals buy from this AB Stockholms Glasbruk as they don't seem to care about their customers.
