"Swedes, on the whole, love a little sport in the water and kayaking is an agreeable way to see the city from a new perspective. Companies such as Stockholm Adventures offer two-hour guided tours around the harbour in two-seaters, starting at Djurgårdsbron, the bridge connecting Östermalm and Djurgården.
If you’re feeling lazy, however, fear not. The many islands prevent stronger currents or riptides from holding sway or swell, allowing paddlers to enjoy smooth sailing all round. It’s worth heading out to the archipelago too. The pristine waters surrounding the island of Runmarö, an hour-long ferry ride from the capital, are a popular destination for day-long kayaking trips. The hardier can opt for a three-day jaunt, complete with camping on the remote isle."
I did the Södermalm Island e-bike tour with Samma. It was very interesting and a great tour. Samma was a very patient and knowledgeable guide, patiently answering our questions. She showed highlights of the island, choosing really unique spots. It was also very nice to get out of Stockholm proper and see the hipster island of Södermalm!
Thanks Samma!
P.S. I have seen posts asking about doing these tours alone. Absolutely, do it! I went by myself for two bike tours with Stockholm Adventures and loved both.

Experiencing Stockholm's history from two wheels was truly unforgettable. The guided bike tour offered by Stockholm Adventures was nothing short of excellent – informative, engaging, and perfectly paced.
Riding through the city gave us a unique perspective on Stockholm’s rich and layered past. You we got to see the highlights and hidden corners alike. The guide brought the city’s stories to life, weaving together centuries of history with fascinating insights and local anecdotes.
Being on a bike allowed us to cover more ground than on foot, yet still move slowly enough to really absorb each place we visited. Every stop felt meaningful – from royal landmarks to quiet backstreets – and the experience as a whole felt both energizing and enriching.
A huge thank-you to Stockholm Adventures for such a well-organized and inspiring tour. Whether you're new to the city or have lived here for years, seeing Stockholm’s history by bike is something I’d highly recommend

We rented a two-person kayak for 4 hours to explore Stockholm's canals and it was wonderful. We also rented bikes for 24h and were very satisfied. The staff was very nice and helpful all along the way, at the headquarters and at the pier.

I would recommend the bike-tour to people on their first few days in Stockholm. The earlier, the better, it really gives you an idea about the interesting things in the city and what you might want to discover on a deeper level. Not only did we see Stockholms most important parts, we also learned many things. Even though he had to improvise a little bit due to a Marathon that crossed our route, Stephen kept his good sense of humour. He also had many funny anecdotes to share. Overall a great experience!

We had a brilliant trip with this tour. As a family of 4 with two teenagers we thought this was a great experience. We were even lucky enough to see a moose. The young Spanish guide was a pleasure to be with and had great knowledge of the local area and the traditions. We enjoyed the midsummer picnic. Would highly recommend tour.
