Steakland Kobe-kan

I was here in March 2014 and the kobe beef was really melting almost without chewing. Now in Jan 2025 i visited Steak Land again with the same expectations. But, man, was I disappointed. But to be fair the price wasn't way differ from 11 years ago. But the quality of the meat dropped a ton. I think they used the lowest quality Kobe beef. It may still be the cheapest live teppanyaki in Japan. But the taste couldn't be compared with what it was 10 years ago. But the staff were still super friendly. I only complain about the quality of the meat.

We went there for dinner. Selected two sets of Special Kobe Beef Tenderloin with 14OZ each. We asked for medium rare, we received well done! The beef was tender, but lacked of flavor. Both the quality and quality of food were disappointing. The set dinner comes either a bowl of rice or a small dinner roll. I asked for the roll. The bread wasn’t served until I asked again. This restaurant is a tourist trap. The price is too high! All the customers we saw were tourists; not a single Japanese speaker!

The Wagyu is really delicious and tender. I highly recommend this place if you are visiting Kobe. They have different sets you can pick. All of their beef sets are good but of course the pricier are the better. I recommend going for the Kobe Special set. It’s worth it.

DO NOT visit Steakland Kobe. My experience was utterly disappointing, and I strongly advise against dining here, especially for foreigners. From the beginning, the service was rushed and dismissive. The server barely gave us time to look at the menu and didn’t inform us that each person must order individually. When we realized this, we were pressured to decide immediately. Despite being offered bread or rice as a side dish, our choices were ignored, and everyone was served rice. Why give an option if you won’t honor it? The entire experience felt cold and unwelcoming, and shockingly, the staff didn’t even thank us when we left—a stark contrast to the warm hospitality Japan is known for. This restaurant does not live up to its high reviews and seems to treat foreign customers poorly. Spend your money elsewhere for a more respectful and enjoyable Kobe beef experience.

OH MY GAWD. do not waste time and money here. if i could give zero stars i would. my husband and i came all the way to Kobe for Kobe beef. we chose the 6580yen set. not the cheapest but also not the most expensive. mid-range. we were given the worst beef of my life. and i have had $10 cheap beef before. i was given meat i could not eat. i spat most of the meat out. see the picture i took (pardon the grossness) but i had to show how bad the meat was. i could not even feedback to the staff cos they cooked, served and left. no more staff was around after that. place had a noisy canteen vibe. not good. worst dining experience of my life. shame on steakland. this is not right.

If you really want to come here, take the cheaper option. We chose the Kobe Specials 180g, I was feeling sick before the meal ended. The steak was too chunky. It would probably be better if they further slice them by half. The 1st bite was disappointing. Didn't have the melt in your mouth Kobe Beef that I was expecting despite chosing the most expesive set. It was chewy! Service wise, I was not expecting much after reading so many negative reviews. We went there as the back up plan as the one I wanted to go was closed for a week! Not worth the indulgence. Maybe the cheaper lunch set would make it more value for money with lesser expectation!

We had one spare day based from Osaka, so decided to take a day trip to try the Kobe beef. As recommended by friend we came to this restaurant and it was relatively easy to locate. Just a short queue outside we got inside. Overall ambience was good, and we chose the Kobe beef lunch set. The food tastes great and Price reasonable.

This is an incredible find for me! Ordered a kobe beef steak lunch set and it was all worth it. Went here early lunch so we dint wait to get in. The beef was so tender and the garlic chips were irresistible wish they could provide more lol.
