"Stravros Niarchos Foundation The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC)—new home for both the National Library and National Opera, designed by Renzo Piano and financed to the tune of €630 million—is a wonder to look at, walk through, and relax in. The library and opera are state of the art; the 42-acre grounds include a salt-water canal where you can learn to sail or kayak, fantastic playgrounds and fountains to keep kids entertained, and the Great Lawn where free concerts, open-air screenings and festivals are staged year-round. Take advantage of the center's location and drink in the 360-degree views of the city and sea from the Lighthouse, a glass-walled lookout and terrace shaded by a vast solar panel that powers most of the sustainably minded complex. This neighborhood is, after all, called Kallithea, which means "wonderful view."

"Alternatively, dedicate your final day to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center near the Bay of Faliro, where you can do pilates on the Versailles-inspired Great Lawn of Stavros Niarchos Park, watch a ballet in the 1,400-seat main hall, catch the Greek National Opera, or even hole up in the brand new National Library of Greece—all within a sleek, Renzo Piano–designed modernist building. (Just this month, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center became the first U.S. group to perform there.) Bonus: Visitors can rent bikes to ride around the cultural center’s massive park between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m."

Went in the evening for a stroll after dinner. Place opens late - very clean and modern, a different part of Athens. The library was impressive and there's a large park. Wish we went in the afternoon though so that we can appreciate it more. There is also an architectural tour in the mornings but we didn't go.

Athens must-visit location, clean, new, modern, green, fancy. It doesn’t feel like Athens. New experience, nice emotions. You can come just to the park, enjoy sun sitting on french chairs, smiling to cats and having a picnic. Then move to the beach for a sunset. Nice wc at the cafe. Make photos near mirror cubes.

One of nicest places in Athens. Beautiful and clean environment, perfect for morning walks and/or studying or reading. Very well kept, modern and clean which is very uncommon in Athens.

Must visit locations on the outskirts of Athens on your way to the Sea Port. There was an Ice skating ring during my visit and the vibes were immense. Highly recommend taking a date here for a nice walk to the beach. The bus situation to get to this place isn't great. Don't rely on the bus schedule on Google maps as the busses are unreliable.

We took a tour through Viator and this was one of the stops. This was not a spot that we would have had on our radar if not for the tour guide’s suggestion. We thought this spot gave us a wonderful opportunity to view Athens from the rooftop of this beautiful building.

On my last trip to Athens, I visited the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center for a light event. The space is massive, and I spent a lot of time exploring before finally finding the light art exhibition, which was absolutely breathtaking! The center itself is fabulous, but I wish I had more information about their other exhibitions and services. It’s definitely a place worth visiting if you’re in Athens.

Beautiful place to visit in Athens. It really gives too a modern and forward looking view of the city. I was inspired by how this place wants to democratize reading and giving access to all the population. I highly recommend taking a guided tour.
