"Vancouver has experienced a sort of beer renaissance (a beeraissance) in recent years with a massive amount of microbreweries opening throughout the city and surrounding areas and unleashing a vast array of different beer varieties for the thirsty consumer to try out. That’s where St. Augustine’s comes in. Named after the patron saint of beer, this tap house boasts over 60 different taps offering a curated and ever changing selection of the area has to offer. Their website even has a live beer menu showing how much of each beer is available! So whether you’d like a hum drum lager or an exciting lambic there’s probably a beer you’d like here. Really cool place! We got a table for four right away. They have a great beer list and cocktails if beer isn't your thing. We got a pizza with half mushrooms and half pepperoni. The pizza is massive and the one fed the four of us easily. We also got some fries that were great. The service was awesome and friendly and it was a nice day so all the garage doors were open. Excited to be back!

St. Augustine’s Apizza is one of the best spots on Commercial Drive for a fun night out! Whether you’re with a small group or a big crew, the energy is always great, the staff are friendly and on it, and the pizza is hands down the best bar pie in Vancouver. Crispy, cheesy, packed with flavour, it’s the real deal. Add in a huge beer selection (even non-alcoholic beer) and games on the TVs, and you’ve got the perfect hangout spot. Easily one of my favourite places to eat and chill in the city. — Brendan | Helping business owners save money on credit card fees

Huge selection of great lagers and ales, ipa etc etc...great vibe and not too noisy...prices very reasonable for the large selection of drink...food looks good tho did not have any...recommend this place no end...go there...!

Google
Reliable quality of food & really nice staff. We had drinks, burger & yam fries after a film at the Rio, all were yummy. I love their large beer collection & often get the taster flight but tried an aperol spritz this time. When I come for din, I get their caesar kale salad with buttermilk chicken which is my fave. Thanks so much to Michelle, for her friendly, helpful style. She really helped make our night top notch. Thank you! :)

I checked out St. Augustine’s on Commercial Drive for drinks with friends, attracted by their huge selection of craft beers. They have over 60 beers on tap, mostly from local microbreweries, which is impressive if you’re into trying different beers. The vibe is casual, but it can get loud and crowded, especially during game nights or weekends. We grabbed a table inside because the patio was already packed. Service was friendly, and the server gave some good recommendations from their beer menu. Food-wise, the menu had some tasty pub-style dishes like pizza, burgers, and appetizers. Prices were reasonable, but portions could have been a bit bigger. Overall, it’s a good place if you love craft beer and a lively atmosphere. Just be prepared—it gets busy fast

Came to St Augustine’s after a Saturday morning retro cartoons event at the Rio for a quick snack. We were blessed with a server named Mel who made our experience so fun. She was one of the best servers I’ve encountered in the city. The food was good, but it was the service that made us stay all afternoon. I will be back for sure! Ask to sit in Mel’s section and you will be well looked after!!

Be wary of the first tacos - Both my cousin and I got mild food poisoning from eating them. After speaking with a coworker I was told their friend also got mild food poisoning after having the fish tacos here. I can’t speak to the rest of the food but it was definitely disappointing since the tacos were on special that night. Otherwise this pub was good. Convenient location close to Commercial-Broadway skytrain station, large craft beer selection, friendly staff and pretty good service, and decent prices especially on happy hour.

Yelp
This place has +60 taps + a pizzeria inside At St Augustine's in Vancouver you can find +60 types of beer and a pizzeria inside. Unbelievable Happy hour deals available Daytime: EVERYDAY from OPEN-5pm Nighttime: Friday & Saturday 10 pm-closing + Sunday to Thursday 9 pm - close. They have stouts & porters, wheat beers, brown/amber/cream ales, pale ales & IPAs, seasonal taps, lagers & pilsners, cider & gluten free, lambics & sours....they basically have something for everyone! Many are sourced from local microbreweries. They keep a few faves on tap and rotate the others with what's in season. The Paddle = sample any 4 draft beers for $12.00! Happy hour includes $5 house beers and $19 pitchers, $7 wines, and $9 margaritas They also have a delicious line up of happy hour food, including nachos $16, deep fried pickled $13, yam fries $9, and Korean nuggets $13 We ordered: Pepperoni & Mushroom pizza $32.5 (you could easily feed 4 people with one pizza) , The dirty bird $21 , Deep Fried Dill Pickles $13 , Nachos $16 Everything was truly delicious! My dad makes his own pizza from scratch at least once a week and he is truly a tough pizza critique and he couldn't stop raving about the pizza . The dirty bird was packed with flavour and had an extra crispy and juicy fried chicken . If you like pickles as much as my family does, then I would highly recommend ordering the deep fried dill pickles. They were a parching hot, beautifully sour and had a crispy coating . The nachos are definitely meant to be shared and I loved that it came with plenty of fresh salsa and sour cream Ambiance 5/5 Parking 3.5/5 Food 5/5 Service (I'm taking 1 point off because they were short staffed and only had one person serving all the tables on a Sunday at lunch time. I'm not sure if someone called in sick that day or if they didn't think it would be that busy. The individual looked overwhelmed and was running around. We received a good service but I'm not sure about others).

Maggie H.

Yelp
Standard pub-quality food. I did enjoy the fish tacos, but I have definitely had better in Vancouver. Large selection of beer, everyone will be able to find something they like. Friendly service - but really loud inside. The tables were fairly close together. If possible, make a reservation and get a table near a window (slightly quieter!) No issue when asking about my peanut allergy, so it seems they are accommodating there.

Anushka B.

Yelp
Went here for late night drinks because they are open late and have a big space so the wait here wasn't too long. They had good music which was not too loud so you can have a conversation while having a good time. Their beer menu is huge and they had a lot of options! We got their margarita, rum & coke, and a lot of jager bombs. Since we went their on a Saturday night, the place was crowded but the service was still very quick. It was pretty impressive! We got their potatoes as a shared plate with hot sauce (would recommend their sauce). This place is also just a 5min walk from Commercial Broadway station so the location is perfect for an impromptu night of drinking.

Gabriel Y.

Yelp
If you would like to go to a brewery pub, St Augustine is one of the easiest place to go and it is located at commercial and Broadway side of Skytrain. This place place is cool with different options for beer and good options for food. If you have questions, their waiter was good and he helped us to decided what we can eat. We ate the chicken wings and the chicken burger. Both of them were good. Beers were refreshing and good flavours too. I wish their tables were still the same style from years ago, they were more comfy! Other than that, good place to visit. Cheers

Jas L.

Yelp
I read that they serve New Haven style pizza (or apizza) here recently so I rushed down here to try it with my buddy. Amidst the craft beer options and burgers, I went straight for what I can here solely for.. I ordered the "red pie" on the menu. Let me tell you. From one pizza connoisseur to another. It did not disappoint. It was exactly what I was looking for after binge watching Davey Portnoy pie videos consecutively on Facebook. "One bite, everybody knows the rules". "Ok, Frankie." "Pizza Review time." My score? 9.2/10. I'm still day-dreaming over its crispiness the morning after. The tanginess of the sauce. So simple. So basic. Yet, so perfect. Damn. I'm salivating in my brain, right now. If you like Ragazzi's, you'll like this. None of this Pizza Hut Dominos bulls*%#+..

Angela K.

Yelp
I hadn't been here in over 10 years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Stopped by last night for some food and drinks, and everything was great! I ended up ordering the lettuce wraps with tofu. I wasn't expecting much considering its pub food, but they were probably some of the best lettuce wraps I've ever had. The atmosphere was pretty casual and the service was excellent. I would definitely come back here next time I'm on the Drive.

Kris H.

Yelp
Great service. Great crowd. First time having poutine and it was great!! Also great for sports games

Myles M.

Yelp
Good restaurant that could be great, if it wasn't for the brainless management. Me and my girlfriend went to get brunch, only to be told they don't have mimosas. You offer brunch, and yet you don't carry sparkling wine? HUH?

Dave R.

Yelp
Great spot! Friendly staff, wide selection of tasty food and beverage, and a relaxed atmosphere. Yes, please!

Derrick F.

Yelp
I would not even go there again to use the washroom the food was garbage and the waitress looked like she was constipated! My advice to her practice safe sex the world doesn't need anymore waitress's with your disposition!

Luke Y.

Yelp
Price/quality (3/4): Their food is nothing to write home about (standard pub quality) but their beer is where they truly shine. With a beer/cider menu that long, you're bound to find something you like. Service (0/1): This place can get very busy, especially on weekend nights. It's unfortunately possible for the server to forget your order on such nights, and you may have to order the same drink a number of times before you finally get it. Would I come here again: Probably, at least for the beer.

Michael L.

Yelp
Think it has been almost 2 yrs since we last visited St Augustine's and came by on a Sunday late afternoon. Very pleasantly surprised to get a table as the establishment was 1/2 empty...guess as it was Sunday afternoon. The food menu has many options including vegetarian with mostly pub type fare. Pizza's are $9 on Sunday which is a good deal if you are in the mood for pizza. We split some yam fries and a pizza and both were ok. The pizza was a little dry and needed more basil and tomato sauce. The service was quite good and with so few patrons, our server was very attentive and pleasant. Metered street parking is available, there are a few 2 hr free spots in the area (very few) and they also have free roof top parking. And here it is all about the beers. Their selection of beers is still very impressive. I sampled two strong IPAs from two of my favourite local craft breweries...hard to beat that. With the great selection of beers, great service and many food options, it was a positive food experience and happy to recommend St Augustine's.

Helen T.

Yelp
Keep in mind that 3 stars isn't a bad thing. It stands of A-OK. I thought the servers were nice the two times I came here. The food... well... it was A-OK. I liked the mushroom and spinach pizza and wasn't wowed by the fried pickle or the poutine the first time I came. The second time we came mostly for drinks but I was in a Apple Pie mood. They had an Apple pie for dessert and an Apple Pie drink. I won't like I enjoyed the drink but the dessert was just average. This place is okay. Loud, which you should expect from a Pub, and you come here to drink. More me, a girl who doesn't really drink I look at the food and I wasn't impressed but wasn't disgusted. I would say this place has a plenty selection of drinks to choose from that ranges from beers to cocktails. If you want food try the pizza.

Lane F.

Yelp
The place was half empty - I was shown to a table close to the front. Not a single person came by to serve me. 15 minutes later... not a single person. any one wanting to go there? Good luck getting food or beer. maybe St. Augustine's should be a pass... head on up to a plethora of Establishments on Commercial that would be happy to serve you!

Ralph M.

Yelp
It had to happen. After a few return visits, I finally remembered why I stopped going to this place for a number of years. Poor value. Indifferent service. Four imperial stouts in the almost $10 taster flight served in two ounce shot glasses, of which about half an ounce of each had spilled into the serving paddle. Okay, I can appreciate these are high alcohol beers, but after the spills, I was probably left with about six ounces. A starter of probably a half dozen halved and fried Brussels sprouts in one of those oh-so-tiny cast iron frying pans... $9.50! Our servers response to our questioning the small serving sizes and high cost... an indifferent apology. No offer to at least bring another shot glass of beer to make up for the spillage. Apparently, it's "not their policy"? Would that be to make customers happy? She did bring our almost $30 bill, though, for one extra-small taster flight, a beer, and a few bites of a small starter. Best to avoid this place, at least for another four or five years.

Eunice L.

Yelp
Went last night on a packed and busy Saturday night and was surprised how it turned out. The waitress we had was super swamped with multiple tables but had a good memory of what beer taps were still available and dealing with our requests. She also came by with water often to refill our water glasses as they were being emptied. The food isn't the greatest but in a pinch it will do. Their shining achievement is their large number of beer tap variety (with live online menu) and now I've got to say the service was good My favourite thing is to get their $9.75 beer paddles to sample a few different tasters of beer. I'd recommend going for dinner elsewhere on The Drive then coming here for appies and drinks. I will actually look forward to coming back to this place again!

Ally S.

Yelp
Got a flight of beer ($8) and the Mac n cheese croquettes ($11) and the garlic fries ($11.50). The Mac and cheese was really hot, and it was pretty cheesy and not dry. It didn't seem as if the garlic fries had enough garlic on it, but don't be fooled. I will say that this appy was a bit pricy for what it is. As for the flight: Bomber Brewing: raspberry parklife Cannery Brewing: sunblink berry sour Blood Brother Brewing: paradise lost: golden sour ale with guava (my fav) Foamers Folly Brewing: wide mouth watermelon wheat ale

Natalie T.

Yelp
I've come here a few times, and usually have an okay experience. The food and drinks are average bar stuff, nothing special. However the service the last time I was here was absolutely horrendous - some of the worst service I have ever received in my life. Our waitress took ages to ever check back on our table so it took us forever to put any orders down OR to get our drinks after ordering, even giving leeway on it being a busy Friday night. She gave one of my friends at the table attitude, was inefficient and looked disgusted when she had to clear the table (hello it's your job...), and was rude on many occassions throughout the night. So while food and drinks were decent, the wait to get any service, and then getting terrible service when we did get any turned our expected fun, liquor-filled night out into somewhat of a disappointment. So I would say - unless your top priority is just the convenience of its location, go elsewhere, because there really is nothing here that you can't get somewhere else.

Kurt L.

Yelp
I've come here every now and then for the last two years because its a pretty open space, beer is beer, and its an ok place to hang out and converse with people. The food is ok as pub food. My last visit I ordered my usual $8 beer and the server suggested a different beer, and so I accepted and had three of these beers that turned out to be $12 each. When I said WTF to the server she proudly proclaimed that that is called upselling. So now I don't like this place and I don't want anyone to ever go here again so I can have revenge.

Eliza L.

Yelp
Great place to kick back and relax with a nice cold beer after work! I love the energy of this place. It's always really lively, but not too rowdy that it's too loud to talk to your friends. I find that the service is just - okay - . I asked the server for recommendations according to my beer preferences, and on both occasions the server said "I'm not sure... let me check for you..." so, that was a bit odd. I usually prefer darker beers, so I decided to try the "S'mores" stout and it was delicious! would definitely order it again. If you're looking to order food with your drinks, I recommend their nachos! The portion size is perfect to share between 3-4 people, and they do not cheap out on toppings / sauces. One more thing -- I like how St. Augustine's is super close to Commercial sky train station! Allows people to drink responsibly and to have a safe way home :)

Dave S.

Yelp
So St Augs did a Reno before reopening from the lockdown, and the place looks new and shiny. Gone is the permeating odourifousness, which was a bit off putting previously. The service was friendly and pleasant, and they have put some thought into their seating plan and installed barriers for social distancing and germ catching. The Beer selections are catching up to what they used to be as the staff get the restaraunt back up and running. However, it annoyed me just a bit, that there was no paper towel in the mens bathroom so that you could exit the bath room without touching the door. Hopefully an over sight, which is easily fixed, and look forward to some after work type patio action.

Imma M.

Yelp
Augustine's is... pretty great for what it is. Which is a neighborhood watering hole and sometimes-Sports-bars, depending if there's a game on. The good: the vast beer selection. This is why I come here, really. I love making up flights of whatever seasonal delights they have on tap. Sometimes they have my favourite beers on nitro (Fuggles & Warlock's Last Strawberry on nitro is not to be missed.) St. Augustine's has a community feel, and if you live in the neighborhood and your friends like beer, you have a good chance of seeing someone you know here. The service is.. casual. This is not fine dining. It gets busy. The servers aren't inattentive, but they're real people. Occasionally I have to flag someone down to place an order or get a bill, but I've also had a great time chatting with servers, and they're for the most part warm, friendly, and funny. The menu is fairly consistent. I come back for the Korean Fried Chicken bites, the brunch pizza, the other pizzas, and the mac and cheese fritters. The bad: the noise level can be a lot. If it's a Friday night and you're seated near the middle of the restaurant, expect to have to raise your voice to hear your drinking companion. Augustine's has devoted customers who will wait for a table, especially Thursday-Saturday, and there is often a line-up. If you are not into sports, this is the kind of place where the whole place cheers when something happens on the game. It can be a bit much if you're on a date or something. I've been disappointed by a couple of menu items - namely the lettuce cups and the falafel plate. Which pretty much taught me to order pub food when I go to a pub. If I really want a falafel, there's a donair place across the street.

Amy T.

Yelp
I've always passed by St. Augustine's and wondered about the restaurant who took over the Bino Restaurant that occupied this lot for years. I finally had a chance to try it out the other day and I have to say... their wings are nasty. They are just drenched in sauce. I mean, I like saucy wings, but when it's 50% chicken and 50% sauce, I think you've gone overboard. I had one chicken wing was also the size of half a chicken nugget. What the heck is that and where do you find these dwarf chickens? I also had the nachos and they were pretty disappointing. The ingredients didn't taste fresh and they were a little stingy on the toppings. The saving grace is their beer selection. It's huge and for decent prices. If I were to come back, it would be just for the beer. Don't waste money on the food.

Shayma L.

Yelp
Hi. I went for Sunday night football. Great drinks and food and my server was beautiful. Will definitely come visit every Sunday

Nicole G.

Yelp
The beer selection is large, I like their patio, but their food selection is lacking. There's really no reason to go here - it's typical and not that great with a very poor selection (very little vegetarian and vegan options which is always an alarm in 2019). I strongly suggest skipping this one and heading to the other restaurants within a few blocks of this spot. It got a second star because they have free parking on the roof.

Denise W.

Yelp
This pub is located in central commercial drive. Due to its location, its super crazy busy (any day). Especially when there are Canucks game happening its really hard to get seats. You really have to come early. Had their nachos and the portion was huge and pretty good. My friends like coming here but because I don't drink I watch them drink. The beer selection is massive. No kidding. I am not talking about wine. I am seriously talking about beer!! I enjoy mostly the atmosphere of the place than anything else. Its quite enjoyable and gives you that also night life vibe every time I am there. Love this place.

Rose C.

Yelp
Energetic ambient at this sports pub. The tacos came in a generous portion, and I would order it again. Went in on a weekday and there was a minimal wait.

Edward L.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to their nachos. Good - really crispy chips. Sour cream and salsa bits sprinkled all over, negating the need to dip into any bowls (awkward). Bad - layering isn't done well - uneven distribution. Not enough cheese holding things together - all the bits kept falling all over the place. Verdict - unfortunately, the nachos are simply inferior to those of the Wallflower on Main (my gold standard).

Danny S.

Yelp
Good choice of beers, albeit expensive and overpriced for the most part. Service ranges from terrible to utterly laughable. I was treated like a war criminal for 'only' giving a 15% tip for awful service. Avoid.

Ryan E.

Yelp
Used to be my go to spot for craft beer, but it may as well be renamed "The Parallel 49 Taproom" because they have slowly been taking over every tap with Parallel 49 beer and tonight there literally wasn't a single other brewery on tap. Save your time and just goto Parallel 49 if that's what you want to drink. No point in going here anymore unless you want average tasting P49 beer.

Monika C.

Yelp
I'm not a huge fan of beer but I think a couple here might have changed my mind. There was one that tasted like coffee and another that was like lemonade. I completely forgot to take down the names though. My group also ordered a side of nachos which was delicious. Lots of fresh toppings, guacamole was included, and the chips were toasted to a beautiful golden brown. UPDATE: I came here a second time and my group had another round of paddles (for them), poutine, and gin and tonic (for me). The poutine was creamy and delicious!! The gravy was very peppery, the cheese curds melted beautifully, and the fries were nice seasoned. They could have been a bit more crisp in preparation for their poutinification though.

Karen T.

Yelp
I've been to St. A's perhaps 3 or 4 times. I've been turned away twice when the wait was proposed at 30 minutes (what!? No thanks - plenty other commercial drive equivalents). I love their pizza's which are great to share with a shared salad (an attempt at healthy eating). Oh wait did I forget to mention the billion beers they have? Yes. Oops. I'd love to recommend what I tried but apparently their stock rotates and girates out of use so unless you bolt over to St. A's RIGHT NOW..... Regardless if you're as beer clueless as me (or want to expand your palate) or have absolutely no excuse but just wanna... Try a paddle of beer. They kindly acronym what you order so as it gets beer fuzzy you can pretend to remember what you've drank. I LOVED the Radle(?) beer with its grapefruit juice pretense. If beer isn't for you - having this will certainly trick your beer-gare(radar on what's beer). Don't worry we don't have to tell your tummy. Oh so back to the food. Cuz. Yum. I'm not sure what the deal is with the Brussels sprout appy - yeah while I havent tried it yet - it's the last appy I personally consider when pairing beer (green and gassie with beer). Although almost each time I've been I do remember the waitresses "recommending" them. Hmm. Overstock on the healthy green things. Be sure to up sell!? I digress. I'm a photo queen - ok princess? Check out my photos. Check out St. A's cuz being diet naughty has never been more accepted.

Katrina S.

Yelp
This is where I go when I want great beer. This is where I bring my friends who want great beer. This is what I recommend to friends who are looking to show their other friends great beer. There is an abundance of great beer here. The food is pub food. Fairly tasty pub food at that. But I'm not going to St. Augustine's for a culinary experience and a 5 star meal. I'm going for some 5 star beers. In fact, all of the stars from this review go to the beer because their selection of beer is the bomb! Many many many many many taps. Lots of local features, reasonable descriptors, and from my experience, very knowledgeable staff. They have a great staple selection as well as a seemingly endless rotating supply of seasonal beers. The specific day I went in, when this review was produced, it was a Vancouver Craft Beer Week event. It was "New Kids on the Rock" tap takeover! I believe it was 5 different breweries from Vancouver Island and they had a selection of 30 different beers! My friend and I shared a total of 8 flights in order to sample them all. Our server was great and she had some laughs with us and it was a delightful evening all around. When in search for a great beer selection St. Augustine's is the place to go! When St. Augustine's is having a beer event, girl, lemme tell you that you aren't going to want to miss it!!

Jason S.

Yelp
Guys it's time for a change. I've been a customer since you opened, and a few years before that when the place was called The End Cafe. You do 3 things right that keep me coming back: great beer selection, great staff, and really good food. But you can't keep resting on these laurels. The atmosphere isn't very fun: the seating is more like a cafeteria than a bar, the space is chilly in the winter and hot in the summer, the floor area near the bar is gross and smells horrible sometimes. You did a great reno on the brewery, well it's the restaurant's turn now. Booths and communal tables would go a long way in making the space more social and inviting. The prices aren't competitive, and you've recently raised them again. Why are you charging $8 for a 14oz beer made right in our own city? I can get 16 or even 20oz of the same virtually anywhere for cheaper. Finally, why is there no happy hour for less busy times?! There are long stretches of the weekdays where nearly the entire place is empty. You've done very well up to this point but need to keep up with the times. The Drive is gentrifying, and soon enough there will be pubs offering the same beer in a better space with competitive prices. It might be too late to modernize by then!

Samantha A.

Yelp
Not your average pub - fast friendly service, relish food featuring many in-house made dishes, and a huge beer menu this place exceeded expectations. The food is on the pricier side for a pub but the quality and portion really matched the price. We had the dill pickle spears to start (crunchy and tasty). Then I had the veggie burger with a very yummy and clearly made in house patty. Husband had "the burger" on a gluten free bun, that patty also looked handmade. The fries were awesome, handcut and cooked perfectly. Husband also had a Caesar which he said was tasty and spicy. The bathrooms were also way cleaner and nicer than I expected. Overall a great experience. I would love to try their brunch also. Looking forward to our next visit!

Yelp
Usually come here for the nachos late night after hockey. Best in vancouver? Def one of the biggest plates, serves 2-4 ppl. Haven't tried Foundations yet tho. Burger and fries are good too.

Yelp
If you like to have a large beer list, here's the place! Other than that, nothing too special. It is a large place though and the food is pretty good. Beers are about $6-$7 and there are no food specials and the such. Go for: large beer list, decent food Don't go for: something amazing

Yelp
Good selection of beer. I used to get to try a bit of the beer before making a decision - not anymore! Not that happy about it. With only one beer on special and no happy hour, I likely won't come back unless I am invited by friends.

Yelp
I've biked past this place a few times on my way downtown and never went in for a drink until now. A buddy of mine was leaving Canada to work in Asia for awhile so a few of us decided to grab some drinks and some food. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who believe it or not was named Augustine. It was nice outside so we asked for a table outside. We got a few craft beers, one of my friends decided he wanted a Bud but apparently they don't serve that kind of stuff haha. When the waitress came over to get our food orders she recommended the pizzas so I went for the margarita, nothing too fancy and the rest of my group just went for the burgers and fries. No complaints at all, that was a really yummy pizza I only wish I could've ordered two. Downside was the price, a little higher than you'd expect for a place like this. A lot of funny shirts though, if I remember correctly on the back of some servers it read "Repint your sins". I guess that'll catch on. I'd say this is a good place for groups of you're not looking to go all the way downtown. Apart from the price I quite enjoyed myself. Gotta come back and try the rest of their pizza selection!

Yelp
This is my most favorite pub, ever! For a place that's known for their fantastic selection of beer, I come for the food. Every time I come here, I get surprised by how good the food is, and it always makes me come back for more. My favorite item on the menu is their fried chicken, which is probably the best I've ever had. They usually give you 2 pieces of white meat, and a piece of dark meat. I just don't understand stand how they manage to make the dark meat at tender and juicy as the red meat. It just defies logic! They have different flavors on rotation it seems, and the 2 flavors I had, garlic and honey + Tabasco , are equally fantastic. Also do yourself a favor and get one of their desserts. I had their banana Nutella tiramisu and it was DIVINE. Paired it with a stout and I was on cloud nine.

Yelp
This is a nice place for drinks with friends. They have an incredible selection of craft beers, mostly from the Pacific North West. I tried a bunch of hazy IPAs, my friend had a whole paddle of ciders. We also shared a nachos, and I like how they do their nachos with cheese layered throughout. Instead of a communal guacamole and sour cream that you have to fight over, they drizzle it over the top. Great price for a giant dish.

Yelp
Horrible service. Good beer. Feel free to be ignored for twenty minutes after being seated.

Yelp
Stumbled in on a Monday evening and realized that it was Fried Chicken Mondays = crispiest juiciest fried chicken in Vancouver hands down combined with an obviously extensive list of craft beers on tap how can that combo deserve less than five out of five stars?

Yelp
Beer! Beer! Beer! What else do you want to know? For all I care, they could only have bread and butter on the food menu and I'd still be happy. It may not be the best drinking room in town, but it's certainly one of the better, and it raises the bar for other pubs in the vicinity. Here's why it shines. Each of their 40+ beers on tap is displayed as a lovely graphic on large LCD TVs with name, colour and a real time depiction of the keg level, 12 at a a time. See my pictures, and you'll see the future. Smaller monitors are even on display above the urinals so that you can pre-plan your next pint while the previous one makes its exit. I'm just glad that said keg doesn't slowly fill back up while you're doing your business. Yes I went there. Not sure? Order a flight and sample 4 beers at a time. Not rich? Go on a Tuesday and save a buck a beer. It's a largish sized venue, good for groups. And it's right next to a Skytrain station. How much more responsible can you possibly be? They have a somewhat typical pub food menu to suit most tastes, albeit slightly higher priced than many bars. ps. Bread and butter as a menu item. Why not? Seriously.

Yelp
Tried to go here on Feb 9th for a couple drinks and food. There was a 3 table wait which was cool but it's how we were told. The grumpy girl working the front said there is a 3 table wait and we dont give estimates on how long. I then said as a seat was open at the bar can we have a drink at bar while we wait. She responded with you have to wait outside. Wtf. What brutal service. This kind of rudeness will get you nowhere.

Yelp
I love this place. It is currently my favourite place to eat and drink in all of Vancouver. I had been here about a dozen times before writing this review and I can say I've never really been disappointed. The staff is great and the food is simply amazing - I've only had a few items from the menu but every time it was excellent. The chicken burger is my most favourite. The only negative about St. Augustine's (and it's HARDLY a big deal) is that service can be slow on busy nights; but I can't hold that against them because I would expect anywhere to have slow service when it's packed full on a game night. Another thing: beer. Oh my God beer. I am NOT a "beer person". My knowledge of beers is to the extent of "give me something light that I can't taste. I don't care what is is or where it's brewed". St. Augustine's has opened my eyes. The first time I went there I tried 'The Paddle' which is, well, a wooden paddle with a sample glass of 4 beers of your choice. After that I was hooked. Their beer menu is expansive and different every time I go in. They have many seasonal, local, and even in house brewed beers. One neat thing I like is how they have a big flat screen TV above the bar that continuously runs through all their available beers, while showing how much is left - once it runs out, it's gone and removed off the menu. This great pub is on the more expensive side of a moderately priced hang out, thus preventing me from going there every God damn day. A meal and a couple of drinks usually runs me $30-$60, depending on how boozy I get.

Yelp
Had the brunch munchies, stumbled onto The Drive, saw Brunch on their chalkboard sign and went for it. When you walk in you are greeted with a copious collection of beers on tap. If you are a beer lover, nothing is more beautiful. The bartender was serving a beer paddle sampler of four beers. Tempting but was a wee bit early for drinking. There's always next time. Ordered the prosciutto eggs benefit ($9). All brunch dishes come with a bowl of fresh fruit and breakfast potatoes which are served in a cool mini frying basket. Prosciutto was good quality. Photo here: http://www.yelp.ca/biz_photos/VznOFJQbZ9PZKrzdXkkiiA?select=l9l2-f3TtzyRrHnKMRQRIg I also tried out a bit of the St. Augustine breakfast burrito ($10). What a beast in size. Ample hearty fillings topped with fresh salsa, this will put you through the day for sure. With cheery service, a modern interior, plenty of TV's, and a beer selection that rivals Biercraft's (formerly Stella's) offerings, St. Augustine has my need covered.

Yelp
I regret to report that our favourite local pub has fallen by the wayside. Where we would once huddle around a table or two, with a few plates of nachos and many pints of beer that we thoroughly enjoyed without feeling we needed to default on this month's rent or take out second mortgages, we now are seated trying to guess at what beer we will enjoy solely based on someone else's write up of their experience, with what may be an extremely different palette than ours. Furthermore, what was once a fairly priced heaping plate of nachos is now a pathetic attempt to satiate a healthy appetite of one, let alone appies to share for a bunch of beer lovers. Once upon a time, there was a place in our neighbourhood that would welcome you and once you were seated you could ask to try a sample of a few beers to make sure that your experience in this establishment was wonderful. You would order nachos that arrived steaming under heaps of cheese and toppings. Their salty goodness would add to your healthy thirst to have a second or third of the amazing beer you ended up with. Now you order a pint for $8 and hope to gods that it doesn't suck. You can read the description and ask the wait staff all you want but it will never be able to paint a clear picture of how your taste buds will read it. My last 4 experiences there have left me ordering a beer, hating it, begrudging that I wasted $8, not wanting to complain and get another one I'd hate, only having a few nachos off of the inadequately sized plate and finally leaving questioning, "what happened?", "this happened last time, why did I come back?" One could say that there are so many beers you are bound to find something you like... but I'd disagree. With so many I find it difficult to find one that makes me truly happy. It makes me sad that a place that used to make us so happy has changed so much we are now looking for a different place... I hear Biercraft is good but they don't have nachos... well, a change is better than another disappointment!

Yelp
Awesome bar and restaurant with 16 draft beers. Very attentive bartender and waiters. Very clean and a great place to watch some hockey!
