Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar

Sri Trat in Bangkok is a fantastic spot for dinner, offering a memorable dining experience. We visited on a Saturday night with reservations, which I recommend as the place gets busy. Parking was a bit challenging, but the valet service helped smooth things over. The food, however, was the star of the evening. The wing bean salad, though strikingly red, was sweet, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The crab curry was rich and satisfying, while the glass noodles with squid were the best I’ve ever had—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The fried rice with prawns was another standout, with each grain charred to perfection. We also enjoyed the lotus and shrimp stir-fry, which was expertly prepared. The service was attentive, and the restaurant’s ambience was beautiful, making it a perfect setting for a family dinner. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely visit again on our next trip to Bangkok.

Thai restaurant with a retro ambience in kind of bistro-like layout. Extensive cocktail and drink list. Food is traditional comfort food with no shortcuts as far as the ingredients are concerned. Prawn cakes have actual chunks of prawn inside, whole sea bass was deep fried to just done and then tossed in a very fragrant curry sauce. Prices are about 5 percent less than the usual Thai chain restaurants in malls. But portions are larger and the taste is far superior. The menu could have a few more meat choices but as it stands, it is still fairly comprehensive. I think this will be my new go to place for traditional comfort Thai food.

Recommended by a friend to this seemingly popular spot, and was lucky to not need a reservation for a table at 1pm on a Sunday. A relatively vast menu, good spread of proteins and other options available. 🐟 this was quite a let down, ordered the fish slice sea bass with red curry and thought the fish was good but the sauce could do with a bit more work 🥚 the crab omelette wasn’t to our liking, I realise we don’t enjoy deep fried omelette given that it’s too oily and doesn’t really taste like much other than oil.. 🥬 cabbage was good, clean and flavourful by itself, but probably not worth the price tag Meat patty was very good actually, tastes like a fish cake but it’s actually meat. 🍸 ordered a cocktail as well since it looks like they have a full bar counter and it’s seemingly popular and good, and the bai bua which the waitress recommended turned out to be a good addition to our meal! Generally, it’s a very decent meal, but I struggle to find the last star amongst the dishes I tried.

The wooden structure and vibrant red poinsettias at the entrance create an inviting atmosphere, and the staff, dressed in traditional attire, add a delightful cultural touch. I started with a refreshing welcome drink of lemongrass tea, which set the tone for a great meal. The interior is both elegant and cozy, with plush red leather seating, wooden tables, and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to fill the dining area. The bar is equally impressive, with its high vaulted wooden ceiling and a stunning display of spirits arranged on neatly stacked shelves. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a handcrafted cocktail or explore their extensive drinks menu. The food was nothing short of spectacular. The Stir-Fried Noodles with Soft-Shell Crab was a highlight – perfectly crispy crab paired with flavorful, slightly spicy noodles that struck the right balance of sweet, sour, and heat. The Stir-Fried Lotus Stems with Shrimp Fat was another standout dish, with its unique texture and rich, umami-packed flavor. The Thai Crispy Omelette was golden and fluffy, paired beautifully with the accompanying chili sauce. Lastly, the Massaman Curry was creamy, aromatic, and well-balanced, though I found it slightly sweeter than my preference. Nonetheless, it was enjoyable and complemented the rest of the meal nicely. I visited on a Saturday evening at 5:30 pm and was almost unable to get a seat as the restaurant was fully booked. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment. Sri Trat Restaurant and Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience authentic and high-quality Thai cuisine in a charming and sophisticated setting. I can’t wait to return!

excellent dishes! absolutely the best here in bangkok. all were so flavorful with good amount of spiciness and sourness. the interior is very nice, we were lucky to get a seat without reservation (although came during lunch time).

Came here without reservation but was lucky enough to be seated due to a near time cancellation. If you want to dine in, make sure to book a table prior to your visit! I am a big fan of local Thai food which gives me the reason to come back again and again. Sri Trat did a great job in presenting the beauty of Thai cuisine, but I doubt if I'd make another visit for its dishes. The Pork Neck is absolutely my favourite, and I would also recommend the Crab Fried Rice and Mango Sticky Rice. Crispy Fish surely captures the essence of Thai culinary art when wrapped in the magical leaves. However, the Pork Belly, Tom Yum soup and the Snack Platter are quite mediocre. If you are new to Thailand and want a quick go-through of signature Thai taste, do feel assure to come!

A delightful dining experience with free-flow rice to accompany a variety of flavorful dishes. The crab omelette stood out with generous chunks of fresh crab meat, while the fried squid impressed with its tenderness—far from the rubbery texture you’d expect elsewhere. The grilled mushrooms were juicy and paired perfectly with their special sauce, and the sweet and spicy pork offered a nostalgic yet elevated take, reminiscent of canned pork cubes but with the unmistakable freshness and aroma of quality pork. Every dish was appetizing and well-prepared. Highly recommend visiting with a group to savor the wide array of dishes together.

Came here a bit late with no reservation and lucky we got a seat before closing. Didn’t order too many dishes but what we had was amazing and the smell and taste seems really authentic. Flavours were all amazing. I imagine anything there will be top notch. Oh, the cocktails were great too. Come here for amazing Thai food and locally inspired cocktails
