"It's only open in the summer, so this is a summer gossiping spot. There are a lot of food trailers. They have a piña colada in a whole pineapple, which is very exciting. They also have a bunch of frozen drinks and elote, and all sorts of delicious little snacks. But my favorite part is that they have these hammocks that go out over the Delaware River. I think six people can sit in the hammock and you're kind of secluded and it's quieter because you're on top of the water. So you can have your big pineapple and gab." - brennan carley
"Hammocks for lounging, outdoor entertainment, live music, and games of lifesize chess are just a few reasons to spend an afternoon or evening at Spruce Street Harbor Park. The shortlist of food stands here can’t be beaten, featuring ice cream scoops from Splits by the Sea (from Somerset Splits), birria tacos and quesadillas from Philly Taco, and Philly favorite brand French Toast Bites. One of its latest additions, Little Fish, has also made waves for its “Fluke Hoagie” they call the Floagie." - George Banks-Weston
"Hammocks, trees, floating gardens, colorful lights, live music, Franklin Fountain ice cream, Distrito’s tacos, HipCityVeg’s vegan sandwiches, and multiple bars pouring seasonal brews and draft cocktails, all in a waterfront locale — what more could Philly ask for?" - Rachel Vigoda, Sarah Maiellano
"Spruce Street Harbor Park is one of the nicest looking beer gardens in Philly. It’s covered in grass, with hammocks and Adirondack chairs scattered around, there are trees for shade (very important when August rolls around), and it has a floating beer garden barge for when you don’t have anything productive to do later that night." - sydney mcelwee
"A summer oasis on the Philly waterfront Easily one of the most popular outdoor attractions in Philly, Spruce Street Harbor Park was originally created as a pop-up park and quickly became a blockbuster hit with locals and visitors alike. Situated along the Delaware River waterfront just steps from Penns Landing, the park offers activities for all ages and is a fabulous place to relax (hammocks included!). In no particular order, visitors can enjoy the beer garden, food truck outposts of the renowned Franklin Fountain ice cream parlor, Federal Donuts and Garces restaurants, a bocce court, shuffle ball, kayaks, paddleboats, an arcade, and an urban beach. With so many fun activities, the park is truly fun for all, and is prettiest at night when the multi-colored lights illuminate the park and reflect on the water. Spruce Street Harbor Park is a seasonal attraction, open summer through fall (May through September, exact dates vary)."
