"The queue is long and you’ll have to eat standing up, but this spotless hole-in-the-wall does some of the best souvlaki in town. If you get antsy while you wait, be mindful of the multiple signs behind the counter saying: OXI AGXOS (NO STRESS). You won’t find frozen fries or garlicky tzatziki here. Just perfectly grilled pork skewers wrapped in a grease-free pita and garnished with sliced tomatoes, onions, parsley, a dollop of yogurt, and plenty of paprika. Don’t worry if you confuse it with the other Kostas souvlaki joint just off Agia Irini Square on Vassiliki Street, where the thing to order is pita bread stuffed with meatballs and spicy tomato sauce. Pull up a plastic chair and watch hipsters drink craft beer while you dribble tzatziki down your chin."

this place is extremely hyped. we waited for 40-50 minutes until we got our food - so the expectations were really high for the food, but then I didn’t really enjoy the pork souvlaki - expected ground meat, not skewers. once you sit down, it seems you don’t have to wait / queue again for souvlakis, which is a bit unfair for those in line - once you sit you can just order again and again. All in all it’s a good place, but the system for order handling is slow, causes huge lines, and the food in the end is not the best I had.

Est. 1950 which makes this spot one of the oldest and most famous spot serving souvlaki in Athens. Almost every time there’s queue outside with ~40’ of waiting, but it’s still worthy. Delicious and solid portion. 3.5€ for portion 🤯

we went there twice in 3 days. we waited around half an hour both days but it was worth it. the pita is so good, soft and warm and the beef was so juicy and tasty. definitely worth a try!

Pork meat was extremely dry and kind of plain so not really enjoyable. Pita bread and sides were tasty, but way too salty. Overall more expensive than other places. 3.50€ for pita pork souvlaki and 3€ for pork skewers. Fast service

I tried both the pork & beef souvlaki. The pork is a bit more bland, while the beef souvlaki was juicy and flavorful. Their pita is really good. It’s not the best souvlaki I’ve eaten in Athens, but definitely a good spot for a quick bite.

First is first this is the place to have souvlaki! The taste of meat and the combination of the add-ons gives you the perfect formula for the best taste in town. In our stay in Athens, we tried various souvlakis and to be honest, we even went to small venue by the same name. It took us one day to get a grip of our self and to find the correct right place so lucky cost us in this address is the best you can have in Athens.. the atmosphere is just fancy the chef the lady at the counter are just class!!

The beef souvlaki sandwich is an absolute revelation—hands down the best I’ve ever tasted! Each bite is a perfect burst of flavors. And the pita? It’s unlike any I’ve had before, so incredibly fluffy and light. I packed my sandwich to go and, even hours later, the pita remained just as soft and fresh, never soggy. It was so delicious, I couldn’t stop at one and ended up having two! This place has truly mastered the art of souvlaki, and I can’t recommend it enough.
