We stopped by Sorella for a friend's birthday dinner. The inside is cute and cozy, and bustling. There isn't much room to wait for a table, and unfortunately, even if you have a rezo you'll be waiting. We were seated 20 minutes late, while they were waiting for a table to leave their outdoor tent. Meanwhile there was a table that was empty inside that would have fit us all, that they didn't seat us at. Understood that they may have had other reservations coming up, however, we had been waiting 20 minutes past our reservation.
We finally got seated in the outdoor tent. Online they state that the tent is 70 degrees. This is greatly inaccurate. While there is fire and a heater, the outdoor tent was so cold! They leave the tent entry open, which creates a wind tunnel, and the temp was entirely uncomfortable. If you're going to sit outside, you should dress in layers to keep warm. We got seated, and they hadn't even filled water glasses or brought water to the table. We finally got waters another 15 minutes after we got seated. Our drink orders taken 45 minutes after our initial reservation time. Service throughout the night after that was just ok.
The great thing though, is that the food was good. We ordered Burrata, arancini, pizzas, vodka pasta, chicken parm, Nutella calzone, and tiramisu. The Burrata was delicious, as were the pizzas. Our friends enjoyed the pasta and chicken parm. Nutella calzone was also good, but it would have been nice if they had provided silverware. Also, nothing special for birthdays here.
Overall, our dinner was ok. Sorella is expensive, our bill for the table was around $350-400 and unfortunately the service just didn't match. Food was good, but honestly nothing overly special. I'd recommend the Burrata and the pizza.
