Truly excellent spot. Visiting from NYC and there is just something special about this place - I wish there was a way to capture this vibe and bring it back to the city. Had a great chilled red, and the green tomato + anchovy toast was a treat. Loved the records they were playing and service was great. It’s a small place, so you’re gonna want to show up right when they open, or within 15-30 minutes to get a seat (especially on a weekend). Worth a stop in Hobart!

Good vibes, great service and nice cocktails. Oysters were yum but the other food was quite average for a pescatarian. About a 45 minute wait to get seated. Would recommend for a few drinks and some bar snacks over dinner.

An incredible and delicious little spot, filled with good vibes and good people. If I could, I would be back very often, to try the deliciousness created there, right in front of you. No bookings, walk-ins only

Worth the wait! Really enjoyed the atmosphere and vibe! Food was delicious! We shared the pasta and it was a very generous size! Staff were all lovely and while waiting in the line kept popping out and keeping us updated and in the loop which we loved!

Wow. What a cool bar. The atmosphere in here is awesome. Warm lighting, cozy seating and curated selection of vinyls playing. The bar staff and chef were very friendly. Food is really nice but pretty much a set menu. Lots of interesting flavours. Highly recommend.

This is a must-visit in Hobart! This intimate spot has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and great music sets the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. The knowledgeable and friendly staff made the experience special. They’re fantastic at helping you navigate their impressive wine selection and find the perfect match for your taste. The food was just amazing. We ordered the warm olives, a plate of cheese, the mussels & capocollo toast, and every dish was flawless. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and you could tell everything was made with care and high-quality ingredients. The menu changes frequently, keeping things fresh and exciting. The entire experience was out of this world, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend for an unforgettable evening!

You can't book and you may end up in a queue but don't let that put you off. Sonny is a terrific wine bar with awesome food. While the menu is limited, the quality, portions and presentation are well worth it. Staff are great and the ambience is intimate and warm. Perfect for a couples night out.

A sensational find; it was well worth the wait to get a seat... this place had an excellent intimate atmosphere; the music! highlight on the quality sound system, the warm lighting, curated decor, tasteful food, and personalised service, I could just keep going... the bartenders/excellent people persons had a beautiful flow of conversation, sprinkled with some cheekiness... we couldn't help ourselves, and went twice in a row, and if I could, I would continue to go on a regular basis... don't second guess this place; you have found your next destination.. I look forward to returning upon another Hobart visit.. big love!

Yelp
I honestly wish I would've gotten better photos but I was having so much fun enjoying my experience and food that I didn't care! This place reminded me of one of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn while miles away in Hobart Tasmania. The vibes were impeccable. People were singing along to the record player that filled the room with sweet ballads and sing-alongs. On top of that the dining area shares a space with the kitchen so you pretty much get to watch as the chef prepares everything to order. Now, of course, there are some premade portions to the dinner, but nonetheless seeing the chefs precision to detail, timing and flow was such a treat. The service here was also amazing. My glass wasn't empty the entire three hours we stayed. And even though the menu was tiny, everything was so delicious from the oysters in the beginning to the herby pasta in the end. I had such a fantastic time here definitely will return next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a quick glass of wine before a nice dinner at Dier Makr. The vibe is great, record player, dim lights, candles, and tons of wine on display. Staff here is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about wine, wine making, and food. The wines by the glass change pretty frequently, however for reference I had a great Riesling and Rosé. Also ordered the prosciutto toast which was borderline incredible. The richness of the dish was amazing. Definitely a great place to enjoy a couple glasses of wine, and a bit of food!

Yelp
Wonderful skinny bar with a couple of funky dudes running the joint. Amazing wine choices by the glass and bottle. Ask for the Tasmanian reisling Two Tonne. Or the Pinot both amazing. Cool vibes on the record player too. Well done. We will be back!
