haven't been going out in edinburgh for long, but starting to become a regular here! i don't know what the negative reviews were on about, but i've always had a great time here.
i've typically been coming to see friends (#gobysweep) but have discovered some absolutely amazing bands playing here (shoutout to raincheck and cowboy hunters) who i've become fans of, and would love to see play again. one band i saw here were on the last day of their uk tour, and had come back to sneaky's, as they said it was their favourite venue they'd ever played at! i can't blame em. (i'm probably biased, because the other day, 24/10/23, i experienced i think the best performance of my life here, by the wonderful jacob alon and his wonderful band, as well as hector shaw and nani supporting. simply beautiful.)
staff have always been pleasant thus far, and there's even a convenient locker system to shove your coat or bag in, for i think £2.50 (if you need help with these just ask a member of staff).
sneaky's is a small venue, and it does get quite packed and very warm, so my advice is to arrive on time if you can to get a good spot. toilets are minimal but clean and cool. there's not always a ton of room, so it can be polite to check with the person behind you and make sure you're not in anyones way.
in my experience, after getting/showing your tickets (great pricing btw, and from what i can tell it gets split between all staff and talent) you'll get a stamp on your wrist, which means you can get in and out with ease in case you need some air. i haven't tried them yet myself, but the bar staff give out free earplugs. the decor and sound are excellent in my opinion.
am looking forward to coming back!!
