Yelp
The best pizza in Toronto, and I found it because of a short IG reel.
and to take things a step further, top 3 I've had in my life
Dill pickle on pizza? oh I'm intrigued.
this is exactly what brought me to Slowhand pizza in the Leslieville neighborhood. my original visit was in the dead of winter, but the inside was absolutely humid and warm, I wasn't even a step into the establishment and I was greeted instantly, I placed my order for the dill pickle pizza, dip and a water and I took a seat in the tiny and intimate sitting area.
A quick 15 mins later, the pizza was IN front of me ready to be consumed, and it sounds crazy, but here is the toppings as per the website
"What's the Dill Yo?"
Sourdough crust, creamy roasted garlic sauce, mozzarella and swiss cheese, and lots of sliced dill pickles. Finished with fresh dill and a Carolina Gold mustard drizzle.
This isn't labeled as a veggie pizza, but without any meat protein added to this pizza, this pizza brought me back in time to the first time I had a big mac, the mustard and pickle combo are identical to the same ones from the big mac of the 90's
This pizza didn't make it home, absolutely demolished this in one sitting and this visit made me so happy to be able to experience this, I gave a bunch of thanks
Subsequent visits solo and with others, the flavors, the consistency, and the service have remained at the top of my highly recommended places to check out in Toronto
although they offer more then just "What's the Dill Yo?" I've tried other pizzas, and the dill pickle pizza is what I want until the end of time with this place.
staff are great, I've had conversations with multiple members about how great this place is, and please don't change anything *prays*
the negatives (small details)
tiny parking lot for this shared plaza, a bunch of street parking nearby
closed Monday and reduced hours Tuesday (if I take a day off, it's a Monday)
one east end location only (open a west end spot, please)
truly, the best pizza place in Toronto, just sucks it's on the east end, and is painful to get to from the west, especially with the gardener ramp gone.
