Slater’s 50/50

Slater's 50/50 is a California original, named for the founder's 50% ground bacon and 50% ground beef burger. Situated in Liberty Station, this is a great location with game night Tuesdays and daily specials to enhance your visit. I ordered the Lone Star and it was fantastic! It's a monster burger, and the BBQ and garlic aioli work well to enhance the overall flavors. I didn't care for the fries - they're more bitter - but my wife enjoyed the sweet potato fries. The Vampire Dip shareable is really good, but it's more bread bowl than dip, so it's not worth ordering. For dessert, I had to try the Ultimate S'mores and it didn't disappoint. Super rich and incredible if you enjoy campfire s'mores, but it's definitely a heavy shake so be warned if you're stuffed after your meal. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, helpful, and patient. It was a great place to eat, even with four young kids, because of the staff. We arrived for bingo, and the family really enjoyed playing. If you're coming specifically for game night, ask to sit near the host of the game, because it can be tough to hear otherwise. The TVs around the place have sports and movies, so it's a good blend for everyone. Overall, it was a great experience and I'd eat here again.

Went with the 50/50 classic Veeeery underwhelming flavor. Meat was bland as can be and the whole burger relied heavily on ketchup to eat. Fries were fantastic. Mac n cheese bites were great. Wouldn't recommend or come back... Place was dead on a weekend at peak hour....this is due to the outrageous prices of their food. Everything on the menu needs to drop $5 and the place would be packed. But no one will ever learn, high prices kill craft burger places. They will go out of buisness in the next year or so.

Great spot! We sat at the bar and got served right away, but there were plenty of tables available if we wanted to sit there. Menu options were plentiful...took us time to decide what to order. Eventually I ordered their "Mac Daddy" burger, which was both delicious and so loaded there was no way to stop it from falling apart. The green chile queso added a cool spicy kick that was a nice surprise. Loved it, the Mac Daddy is an absolute MUST, and THE best burger I've had recently. Happened to come there during the $1 Mimosas (till 3pm) and Bloody Marys period, so we also indulged in those. The servers were very friendly and attentive, and even prepared sliders for my partner even though they were not officially listed on the menu. Several TVs over the bar showing sports officially made it just a great spot to post up for a meal and a good time. We will definitely be heading back soon!

Craft burgers with a huge beer selection. We tried the bacon chili crunch burger and the hi-brow burger. Both were good, but the hi-brow was the favorite. Burgers all come with fries, but the price was still high at around $20 per burger. There was plenty of free parking in an attached lot.

I have been here a hand full of times the first time I got the 50/50 i did not care for it another time my wife ordered a best damn cheeseburger and they didn't put any cheese haha that's just crazy I have had a couple good experiences there overall probably find a better burger place to eat

Pretty poor experience from start to finish. We sat on the patio with our dogs and there was some kind of work party happening. The party was fine except for the kids that were running around screaming and literally climbing on all of the empty tables. Understandably the kids should have been watched by the parents, but it would have been nice if the staff intervened when the kids were scuffing their shoes along all the table tops and running around/under our table even when we notified them. The food was incredibly overpriced for what you get. We got 3 basic burgers that weren’t cooked properly and lacked flavor aside from the ketchup we added. My onion rings were super overcooked and completely dry on the inside and when I told our server they just agreed they were overcooked. I had to take my daughter to the bathroom and the stalls were filthy, the dispensers were all taped shut/coming apart and smelly. You’d think paying $95 for three meals they could keep the place in better condition. Way overpriced for a mediocre experience.

Do you love Bacon and Burgers? How about Oreo shake with Bacon bits? Bacon 🥓 on the side? They got that! The Tater totts and cheese sauce was good. So were the mac n cheese balls. 🧀

Came at the tail end of brunch because this was the closest spot from the park where the dog event was today. And chicken and waffles is at the top of the list? No bother hostess that's what I'm getting. Only thirteen bucks too. Idk where chicken n waffles originated, here or the South, but it seems like California can only get the waffle half right after I tried it in Florida. The chicken batter is super crispy bordering on burnt and the chicken was dry. It's alright but not the best. The waffle more than saved the day though, it has sugar granules in it that crunch and it was just awesome. They put bacon and an egg on top too. This should've been the remainder of what I ate for the day but it wasn't. I did eat it all in one sitting though. Service was kinda awkward since I came with my dogs, then returned them to my car cuz they were off the wall, then came back for takeout, and spent the rest of the time in my car with my dogs. While all the outdoor patrons who also had dogs barking just sat and stared like their dogs weren't doing the same crap. I wouldn't go back for that reason. Might've just been today cuz of the event.

Going during October, you have the possible opportunity to have vampire dip, fondue table side. Lucky me I got to try some.! This was very exciting although we had to wait a very long time for our order. The service was good and the staff were very helpful. The drinks were sweet, but strong. I tried their Smashburger, and it was actually very tasty. The french fries were very well seasoned and nice and crispy. The sweet potato fries are very delicious and they are currently coming with a pumpkin dip sauce, which is next level !! And you can't go wrong with the fried pickles, the honey mustard dipping sauce that comes with it is absolutely delicious. They have outside and inside dining areas, and there's plenty of parking. I would recommend eating inside during the fall and winter as it gets a little chilly at liberty station point Loma at night. There's also a giant golden hamburger you can take a picture with at the entrance !

Come here for the burgers, and to watch the game. There is a weekend brunch menu that offers special deals such as $1 mimosas and $7 bloody Mary's! However, the brunch vibes/aesthetic isn't really there. The indoor seating isn't the most comfy, and it's truly a good spot to catch the game on tv and enjoy a burger. Burgers 5/5, though a bit pricy. The burgers come with fries but you can upgrade for sweet potato fries or salad. The hi-brow burger was tasty, had a good balance of sauces and arugula, and a natural burger patty. The siracha burger was not cooked to a temperature because it had bacon mixed into the patty but it was tasty and had a good spice!

I don't think I've been here in over 10 years but was at Liberty Station and decided to have an early dinner here. I ordered the vampire dip to start and I forgot how much I loved it! The roasted garlic and artichoke flavor together is great. I ordered the hi brow burger with caramelized onions, arugula, bacon jam, and blue cheese. It was delicious! My burger was perfect!

The last few times I've been here had to have been well over 10 years ago so I don't recall how my previous tastings were so basically this is like a new experience. Located in Liberty Station there's plenty of lot parking. The space is big with indoor and outdoor seatings. The guy host who seated us had long hair and looked like he was high and just rolled out of bed without showering. I docked a star for the table being dirty with crumbs and utensils were also dirty. I had to ask for the table to either be wiped down or move so we ended up moving instead. Otherwise the service was good. It did take awhile for someone to even come by to take our order but after that everything was fine and the food came out quickly. I was so surprised because usually I don't expect much from American foods. It's either bland or too salty there's really no in between. To my surprise every single dish ordered was delicious. I hardly say that about American foods. We ordered the original 50/50 with onion rings, 50/50 alarm with fries, pork belly grilled cheese with sweet potato fries, and the ballpark tater tots. The burgers were juicy and the spicy alarm burger has that heat you're looking for! We thought it was going to be mild heat but boy after that burger and taking bites of the grilled habanero and jalapeno it's gonna have you crying! Mind you, I'm Lao and my spice tolerance is really high so if I cried, don't do it if you can't handle it. But I loved it! The runny eggs inside the burgers were cooked perfectly. I was shocked my son's pork belly grilled cheese actually paired so good. Usually chili is pretty salty to me but this one was just perfect! The red onions and chili paired so well with the perfectly crisped tots! The onion rings were crisply delicious. The regular fries and sweet potato fries were not my thing.

We were lucky so get a table on a a very hot busy Saturday after just a few minutes of waiting. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a nice of variety of options on their menu and they do have a kid's menu. While it was a decent burger it wasn't the best burger I've had. Service was ok, nothing spectacular. The rest of the menu seemed pretty good, so I would give this place another chance

My friends and I decided to grab brunch here as our wait for Cocina 35 was over an hour. It's located at Liberty station so there is plenty of parking. We didn't have any wait and were seated right away. There is plenty of seating inside. There honestly weren't many people inside at all. Server was friendly, but seemed to be one of the only people working there. The brunch menu is pretty simple and straightforward. Food review: Chilaquiles (2/5): Super dry and lacked flavor. The only good thing about it was the egg. Definitely don't order here if Cocina 35 is around the corner. French toast: (3/5) Decent flavor, nothing memorable. Good portion. Side of bacon with the French toast was burnt and super hard. Breakfast sandwich: (4/5) The hash brown definitely saved this sandwich. The salsa was also pretty good that came in the side. Bacon almost broke my tooth is was so damn overcooked and burnt. All in all, I definitely will never get brunch here again. Also, my friend ordered a drink that took forever to arrive and in general wasn't impressive. The waiter was also the bartender and greeter for everyone else. Maybe they need more staff?? Anyway, It was worth a shot.

Has parking. Great burgers. Vampire dip is the real star though. Milkshakes are also very good. Service is good. Overall worth the money.

After reading the reviews, we were expecting an amazing lunch. There was one server on the floor, but it wasn't crowded. The service was extremely slow. We needed to ask the server to refill the water glasses as she never came over to ask if we needed anything. I had a chicken sandwich which looked fascinating from the description. I chose to upgraded to the onion rings. the sandwich was good, but not outstanding. It was very messy to eat. Make sure to get lots of napkins! The onion rings had a thick batter on it and they were very tasty. We had to ask for everything including ketchup and ranch dressing. My friend had a hamburger with sweet potato fries. They were good too. They certainly have a variety from which to choose. I wish the service had been better and that the lunch had been served faster.

The burgers were very good as was the service. And the have a deal where you get a burger, side and a beer for about the same price as just a burger. Atmosphere is pretty much a very large room and patio with large bar area with lots of TVs with sports. We decided to go here because all the restaurants by the beach had long lines and no parking. Slaters had lots of parking and no line. I would definitely come here often.

Darn good burger, the beef is really tasty, the brioche bun is buttered and warmed, a nice touch. I had best damn cheeseburger, these are big burgers, and worth the cost imo, comes with fries. The fried pickles and onion rings are superb panko and crispy and so delicious, The beer selection is amazing too and nice service on Friday night. Can't wait to return.

Hamburgers were really tasty we really enjoyed the cheese balls. Location looked clean. Our waitress was really nice. The only thing was the kitchen never brought out the onion rings we ordered. Over a chill place

TL;DR: sizeable burgers with customizations on type and number of patties. Really extensive tap selection Ordered: - Strawberry Burrata salad (4/5): the burrata was super fresh and the milkiness paired perfectly with the spring mix and honey vinaigrette - Frickles (4/5): fried pickles had a really nice crunch but the breading was a little thick for my taste - Original 50/50 (5/5): ordered this with double patties. The smokiness of the bacon was appreciated in each bite and the runny egg made everything that much more unctuous - Burger of the month (3.5/5): this was a golden burger that we substituted wagyu patties on. Although the patties themselves were delicious, the sauce that went on top was way too sweet and overpowered everything else on the plate. Definitely a novelty experience with the edible gold but not ordering again in the future Came right when they opened and luckily it wasn't a busy day so the wait staff was kind enough to let us sit and hang out well past our meal was done Overall a good dining experience and would definitely come back again! First time there celebrating my brother's birthday 11/5, it was delicious and the drinks perfect.

We loved this restaurant so much! The food was absolutely amazing, the service was good but could've been better. We came right as they opened and we had to constantly remind our waiter to bring us refills when we did see him. They worked excellent with me to make me a dish that avoided my allergies. Overall a great experience. The ambiance was laid back but we sat outside and constantly had planes flying overhead. That was one of the only downsides. However, my dish had something on it that wasn't included on the menu and because of it I've had an allergic reaction.

I knew I had eaten at Slater's 50/50 prior to our most recent visit this past Wednesday, but I didn't realize it had been 12 years since I first tried Slater's. We had a planned dinner with our son to meet his girlfriend for the first time and had planned to meet up at Hodad's in Ocean Beach, but there was a Farmer's Market going on and we had a tough time finding parking. We called our son immediately and revised our plans to eat dinner at Slater's instead. I had rated Slater's 3 stars twelve years ago and rated our most recent experience 3 stars again. We were bummed that we didn't get to eat at my favorite burger spot, but we were blessed to spend quality time and meet our son's beautiful, intelligent, and respectful girlfriend. Slater's is located within Liberty Station in the Point Loma area. It is located next to Sea Hive and shares the same complex as Cocina 35. La Galleria and Barracks 15 is across the street and just down the road is the Liberty Station Public Market where there are a plethora of eateries. There is an abundant amount of parking spots all over Liberty Station. As we walked to Slater's main entrance, you'll notice the large bronze burger statue. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that consist of table, booth, and bar seating. Inside has a black and gray color scheme, there are an armada of televisions, and I liked the neon signage particularly the "Bacon. Burgers. Beer. Booze." sign. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating, but we ordered an appetizer of fried pickles and it did not come out with our other appetizer. Not sure if our waitress forgot to put our order in or if the kitchen had forgotten to cook it. To say I was bummed about not eating my #1 burger of all time at Hodad's is an understatement, but we changed our plans to Slater's 50/50 because of the lack of parking in Ocean Beach and the large amount of parking at Liberty Station. We chose a burger restaurant primarily for our son as he was craving a burger. We ordered for our son and his girlfriend since they were coming after my son was done with his Final. We ordered the following: Bacon Mac N Cheese Balls, Frickles, the Original 50/50 Burger for me, Hi-Brow Burger for my wife, Smash Burger Combo for my son, and the Best Damn Cheeseburger for my son's girlfriend. The bacon n Mac cheese balls are house-made bacon mac and cheese balls breaded with panko and served with Tapatio Ranch. That was probably the best tasting item out of everything we ordered. The frickles are hand breaded & fried made "Pickles" and they come with a honey mustard dipping sauce. I'm a fried pickles connoisseur, but this version was just okay for me. I didn't try any of the other burgers, so I'll review my Original 50/50, which is what I ordered 12 years ago. The Original 50/50 is their signature 50/50 beef and bacon patty with pepper jack cheese, avocado mash, sunny-side up egg, and chipotle mayo on a brioche bun. I liked how the sunny-side up egg made the burger creamy, but I felt the taste of the burger was average and I thought the size of the burger was small for its price tag. The best part about eating at Slater's 50/50 was being able to break bread and finally getting to meet our son's girlfriend without having the stress of finding parking. Slater's 50/50 was an okay dining experience 12 years ago and nothing has changed 12 years later.

I was looking for a restaurant to eat dinner. I looked on yelp and found this restaurant. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by staff. Staff were very helpful and polite. I ordered the bison and bacon burger with the sweet potato fries. I also ordered the bivouc blue lavender drink. The bison burger was delicious and very juicy. The bacon and the bacon jam were the perfect combination for the burger. The bivouc blue lavender drink was great . The ambiance is customer friendly.

We had a good experience at Slaters haven't been since before Covid. I'm a sucker for Mac n cheese so I got the Mac Daddy burger. Which the server recommended. I was not disappointed But the highlight of the evening was definitely the dessert. I had the Strawberry cheesecake milkshake it had a whole slice of cheesecake I was in heaven. The ambiance was nice little vibe.definitely going back again.

We had such a great time, excellent food and service. We had a their famous cheese dip appetizer, delicious! The guys had burgers that they really enjoyed. The Cobb salad was great. We had delicious frickles and onion rings. All perfect bar food fun! We finished off with s'mores shakes. Unbelievably good!

It's always a treat to have their signature burger. What sets them apart is the 50/50 patty (made of half beef and half bacon) and topped with an egg that is cooked over-medium. I like when the yolk drips down when I bite it! There are so many items that have bacon in it, even the ketchup and milkshakes! We had the bacon mac n cheese balls for an appetizer, followed by the burger and fries. One of their popular dishes is the Vampire Dip, which is artichokes, garlic, melted cheese in a sourdough bread bowl. Another winner is the Porkapalooza, which is a sampler of Sriracha flavored bacon (spicy), Rosemary and parmesan bacon, served with toast and BACON jam! Okay, if you are not crazy over bacon, you can have chicken lettuce wraps, Ahi tuna Nachos or a variety of flatbread (veggie or bacon) or loaded fries that are a meal by themselves. There was locations in Pasadena and Rancho Cucamonga that, sadly, have closed down after the pandemic. I was happy to go to the San Diego location and help keep them open. For drinks, there is the usual soft drinks and an impressive selection of beers on tap, can or bottle. Hip Hip Hooray for Bacon Heaven on Earth! Don't wait, head on over to your local Slater 50/50 in California, Texas, and Las Vegas to name a few. You know the drill, tell 'em Rosemary sent ya!

When it comes to liberty Station and never ceases to amaze me, how much good stuff is there. Slater's is thankfully opened later than most the establishments. Was an hour left on the clock on a Thursday night our night was just beginning. The milkshakes were made perfectly. Mine was the Oreo milkshake, I say that confidently with 10,000 hours of milkshake experience which technically qualifies me as an expert. My boss loved his vanilla shake and his cheeseburger. I highly recommend the spicy chicken sandwich. Please see photo for the full name.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced from a hostess!!! She was beyond rude and had an issue with putting my family on the list, all because I wanted to have a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. As for the rest of the staff (our actual waitress, the bartender) and the food, I would give 5 stars, even though it took an hour tonget food. But hey, it was the first night of Thursdays night football. Too bad they have ignorant people working the door that give the place a bad name.

To say we had some sort of customer service would be an exaggeration, this has to be by far one of the worst underwhelming experiences. As we waited to be seated for nearly 30 minutes to a practically empty location the music became unbearable as it was so loud I couldn't hear the person standing next to me. We finally get seated on a table that had food stains and crumbs everywhere (that we cleaned up ourself because our waiter didn't come up). Our waiter was more concerned going behind the bar and drinking. He took our order after 20-30 min, that was the last we saw of him. Our food was basic, lacking flavor and the portions were on the smaller side. We weren't done eating but we decided to try and flag someone down to get our check. Of course our waiter was still by the bar without a care in the world. A lady finally passed by and asked if we needed help and brought us our check (she was Hispanic with black hair, the only person offering customer service here). The price you pay for what you get is ridiculous. We won't be coming back there's better service and food around.

Slater's never fails to astonish me. Last time I was here two years ago in San Diego I thought the meal was mouthwatering and scrumptious, and now they've upped their game even MORE! The sweet potato fries with the pumpkin-spice type dipping sauce is a MUST, and I got a gluten-free bison Bacon burger on a bed of spring greens. The herb aioli has definitely improved, as well as the quality of the bacon and the presentation. They were a little busy so when our waiter did not give me utensils (kind of hard to eat a salad with your hands..) waiting around while my food cooled was torture, but I really can't complain because he was sorry and the food was legit THAT good. The music there is always boppin', tho it's a bit loud inside, which I suppose is expected as a kind of sports-bar with tv's all around. Probably not great for a romantic dinner, but a filling, casual meal! Will always return!!

Hands down the worst restaurant in San Diego if you factor in price to quality. Service: Slow, very slow. Pressured to put in order fast but they took 45 minutes for a simple dry chicken sandwich. Food: small, expensive, dry and too salty. The only way it could've been worse is if it was raw. $19 for this sandwich? Easy decision to avoid this place

Recently had their PB&J burger and it was very good, definitely worth it! The service was great and fast.

Unfortunately sometimes a negative review is necessary. Party of 2 on Friday at 6 pm. Place was not busy. We ordered a drink at the bar as we waited for a table on the patio. We took our seat, and watched as others who sat after us were at least being offered water. At some point I asked the hostess to send a server over and she asked if we were ready to order...I said yes but we would really just like some water. To shorten this review, the ultimate outcome was no server ever approached our table. The hostess brought everything after I asked, even the silverware. Pretty sure our food sat under a lamp for a while. Bummer. At least the company was great :)

Not a fan. Surprisingly NOT family friendly. No high chairs. Really loud. Slow service. Overpriced food that was nothing special at all. Felt more like a bar than a restaurant.

This review is for the Cocktail Class experience. Right off the bat, the whole thing was amazing, extremely well organized in my opinion. The class started at 6 and you were asked to be there 20-15 before (this matters if you want to be in the first group to go up). We were in the 2nd group and I got there 10 mins before. You are welcomed with a goodie bag and they explain the process. Meanwhile group one goes up to make their first cocktail, group 2 enjoys complimentary chips and sauces and/or an appetizer. When its time for 2nd group to go up, dinner for the first group is being served to enjoy with their cocktails. (They take your order before you make your cocktail) The cocktail making experience was fun and interactive. My only suggestion is for the bartender (person giving the class) to use a noninvasive microphone, it was a tad bit hard to hear as there was background noise from the other customers and tvs. Both the food and the cocktails were really good. They used good quality alcohol and all the girls that worked that night were extremely attentive and nice, that made my experience even more gratifying. I remember 10+ years ago Slater's 50/50 was the hottest new burger joint in town with long waits and giant greasy burgers with their optional 50/50 patty made of half beef and half bacon...today Slater's popularity has died down where you can now pretty quickly get table along with a tasty burger. Friendly service all around in this clean and casual welcoming joint. The mostly covered patio is especially nice when the weather is cooperating. $19 Smashburger...that price comes with a BEER!!! Slater's Smashburger is in essence a bigger, better, and meatier In N Out Double Double burger...its delicious! I also opted for the tater tots, which are perhaps the crispiest tots in town, which therefore personally makes them my favorite tots in San Diego. The included beer is Slater's own inhouse Blonde Ale, simple and pure, pairs perfectly with the meal. I'm in my mid 40s so I'm losing some memory...but I think the burgers used to be bigger here? Or was that my imagination? Or was I just really hungry? No worries, its a big enough for 95% of you people. :) $13 The Chicken to Your Waffles...basically a Fried Chicken Waffle Sandwich: Pearl Sugar Waffles, Fried Chicken Breast, Sunny Side Up Egg, Finished with Maple Syrup Drizzle and topped with Whipped Maple Butter. Delicious, crispy, and full of yummy diabetes!

It had been a hot minute since the last time I had been here, looks like they remodeled the interior with new tables and chairs and decor, it was super dark inside and the music was too loud, it was about 430PM when we sat down and it was already super cold outside so that's why we opted to sit inside but it was just as cold inside also. I got the pork belly grilled cheese which really well done, the pork belly was well cooked, the grilled cheese sandwich itself was perfect and the tots on the side were AMAZING!! Service was pretty good also, appetizers came out pretty quickly, we shared the brussel sprouts and mac n cheese balls, both were really good. If it was warmer inside I would've given them a 5!

The three stars are for the happy hour cocktails and the great service. But all of the food we ordered was SO SALTY. We couldn't even finish the tater tots (which cost extra) and fries because they were so salty. Even the kids slider was heavily salted. So because of that, I wouldn't return. Maybe for a salad.

Located in Liberty Station in Point Loma. On a Friday at 1pm, there was plenty of parking in the lots and street parking. It was not busy for lunch time. We were sat right away. There is outside dining, booths, tables, and bar stool seating. A lot of TVs. Great for families and big parties. Our server was very tentative and sweet. Happy hour is Monday - Friday 3pm - 6pm. For appetizers we got fried pickles and Brussels sprouts for discounted because of Happy Hour. We ordered two shakes, a fried chicken sandwhich, bacon burger, and sloppy Joe sliders. The items I tried & their ratings: Fried pickles & Brussels sprouts 10/10 Strawberry shortcake shake 9/10 Nashville hot chicken sandwhich (sweet potato fries come with a pumpkin dipping sauce) 7/10 - chicken needed more salt & the crust taste burnt or the oil it was fried in was old

Second time at Slaters. Slaters is a niche restaurant with bacon as the catch. How awesome is that... BACON. Whether it is the classic bacon burger or a vanilla shake with bacon in it, if you're a bacon lover, this is the place. The ambience is a bit dark. There is plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. Our waiter was attentive and made good recommendations. The food arrival was quite slow and the restaurant was not very busy. The tots and fries were a bit over cooked. Overall, I'd say it's a good food experience that can be improved upon, but worth a try, especally if bacon is your jam. BTW, the have bacon jam.

Come hungry! With bacon on just about everything, slaters doesn't skimp on the flavor. The vampire dip was super a super cheesy garlic heaven. The toast pieces they give you with it were buttery and crispy. The burgers are juicy and loaded with toppings. They do their own bacon ketchup with is salty sweet goodness on everything. The sweet potato fries come with a sweet pumpkin dipping sauce that goes perfectly with their crispy outsides. With a huge selection of beers on tap it's a perfect addition to the great food. They have a good amount of seating and a big outdoor patio.

Thankfully they were open late! We checked into the Best Western Yacht Harbor Hotel rather late and we were hungry. I came to school (Defense Acquisition University-DAU) here about 3 years ago for my contracting job with DoD. My boss at the time highly recommended this eatery. He said they have the best burgers & beers. He was right back then and it remains that way tonight. We turned in the parking lot and there was ample parking space but may have been because it was around 9-ish. We were surprised since it was a Friday night. The outdoor area at the entrance had many tables and was well lit although empty. We entered what seemed like an empty space but we were greeted by a friendly, off the clock server, who said she would notify someone. It was under 5 minutes when another friendly server seated us and gave us menus. She brought out iced water glasses immediately. The place was clean and the lighting was subdued. But, the music was a tad loud even for an almost dead couple like us. As we sat at the table there were large groups exiting, which we did not see upon entering. The place may be bigger than we had previously thought. We found the menu to be extensive with many choices for burgers! I had a burger earlier in the day so I opted for the Tomato Basil Flatbread along with an order of chips and dip and hubby ordered the Backyard Classic Burger with fries. Instead of iced teas we changed it up and tried the strawberry lemonade, which was yummy but too sweet. I diluted the sweetness by adding some iced water and it was perfect! Our server was very sweet and attentive but she was hustling! A large party walked in and was seated by us. There was another server working just as hard and was very friendly. The customer service here is definitely top notch! My husband said that was the best burger he's had in a long time! He said the Angus beef patty was very well seasoned and tasty and grilled to perfection! My flat bread had the perfect crust and tasty toppings. The warm tortilla chips with the green Chile queso and salsa fresca was fresh and delicious. A great appetizer! So glad we came here and look forward to returning!

We came here on a Monday night around 7 pm, and they told us it would be about a 20-minute wait for 5. (2 adults and 3 kids). They called us in after 15min. We sat down close to the bathrooms, and the first thing I noticed was that half the restaurant was closed off.. they didn't close until 10 pm.. it wasn't busy but half the restaurant looked closed with chairs on tables.. Our server came by and took our order and gave us some water. We them waited for our food, which seemed like it took a while to get out to us. Once we had our food, we started eating right away. Ohhh man.. this burger was bomb!! Especially with the sweet potato fries. I wish the restaurant was a little brighter, but it was pretty dark inside or at least where we sat. Burgers were very tasty and definitely recommended to get it. I got the BBB bacon burger, which was a BBQ burger, and my wife got a bison burger, which she enjoyed with a gluten-free bun. She didn't like the bun too much. The only thing was that the service wasn't good.. our server took our order and then never checked on us until it was time to pay.. also, they have you pay there, so the server gave us the handheld device to do tip and pay. I didn't like that too much cause it started at 18% then 20% then 25%.. I didn't think she deserved 18%, so I had to put in a custom tip, which I'm sure she saw.. anyways, if the service was better, they would have gotten a better rating.

Visited Slater's 50/50 for the first time and had a bit of a hiccup when I realized my expectation of spaghetti was my own mistake--it wasn't on the menu. No big deal. Opted for the PB Jellousy (unsure about the spelling), and it was decent. Managed to finish about 2/3 of it, and the tater tots that came with it were quite satisfying. Before that, we started with chips and dip, and the salsa was a standout *chef's kiss* moment--it was seriously delicious. My husband went for the Slater's Smash Burger combo with the Wagyu upgrade and thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite living in the Temecula area, the trek was justified for this culinary adventure. The atmosphere was pleasant, with music at a comfortable volume, allowing for easy conversation. Kudos to Kohl, who not only tended the bar but also provided excellent service. Overall, a fantastic first-time experience, deserving of a solid 5/5. Looking forward to exploring more on the menu during my next visit. Happy eating, everyone!

We were truly lucky to be able to book a table for 14 on the same night of the Christmas tree lighting. The service was attentive and the menu had something for everyone. Big fan of the boozy shakes!!!

Food is very delicious especially the hamburgers and onions rings. No hot beverages. Beer and wine and soda. Service is quick and easy. Ambiance is dog friendly. Outside dining and nice dining area.

Sometimes great service tastes better the good food. But we had a taste of both. Thank you Haze for your recommendation on the Bison & beacon burger and great customer service.

Food: I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and garlic parmesan fries. The spicy chicken was too greasy for me and the fries were a blob of grease, so the server brought back a fresher batch, still were not great. My husband & son ordered two different burgers, they said it was ok. They got regular fries and sweet potatoe fries and they were ok. We were introduced to slaters in Huntington Beach, when I lived there & loved it. Then moved to North County & went to the San marcos one but had a bad experience and with more gourmet burger places like Burger Bench, around we stopped going. My husband wanted to try it again. Service: Excellent, the guy that served us was friendly, quick on top of it. Vibe: Casual.

Wonderful experience. Haze was my server and he nailed it! Thanks Haze!!! The bigger was an Original 50/50 plused up to 1# and waygu. I had em delete the fries and bun and well.... look at the Pic! Shit hot burger. Would recommend and I will be back next time!!! Did I mention that the King of 50/50 is Haze? He killed it and was on step hustling about tending to his customers.. Man, someone give Haze a raise!!! Well done!!!

The food is excellent. The service is trash. This is the second time I have been and it took over 20minutes after being sat to even be acknowledged. The first time, we had to go up to the bar to order our drinks and food. The second time we left. It so disappointing that a restaurant with such good food can have such bad service.

Shakes that are easily shared between two? Check. Shakes that are so delicious you want to drink it all on your own (and enjoy the included treats?!)? Also check. The burgers are good, but are a touch on the expensive side for the amount of food you get. The fries are also tasty. The food is good and the shakes are a great way to finish the meal! They also have a pretty wide selection of draft beers. The servers are kind and all have knowledge of all the options! The restaurant is cute and there is a parking lot which is a luxury in So Cal!

The burgers was good and cocktails were delicious as well. The only con I would give is that the portion is super small for the price.

This is a review for a past visit. we had gone with a group In a family type of setting. I cannot recall how the service was, but I can say that this is one of the top burger joints in San Diego.
