"One art piece shared by RM on his Instagram was by Brian Donnelly also known as Kaws. The exhibit was on display at the Skarstedt Gallery, located on the Upper East Side, through Dec. 11."

This was our 2nd visit to Skarstedt Gallery for KAWS exhibition and my husband was satisfied with the entire collection & arrangement. One of the best parts was free admission but reservation was needed. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We didn’t get our tickets booked online in advance since it’s all sold out already, but she told us on the phone to arrive between certain time frame with less people and she would be able to let us in.

The Gallery itself is exquisite. The KAWS exhibit was special in its duration. Great place for photography.

Stops in for the Kaws Gone exhibit during the week and happy that we did. Layout was great and the staff we interacted with where very friendly. If you can visit on a weekday you will face less crowds and that allows you to enjoy the art with less disturbances. We would definitely visit again. Note that strollers are not allowed in exhibit rooms, you can park them in the foyers, but if it is crowded that might be an issue due to capacity.

Serendipitous finding, small gallery, saw the exhibit as I was walking by.. 3 rooms of KAWS works there are stairs but worth checking out

First time I was able to see Kaws work in person. Small intimate gallery.

Yelp
Their beautiful staircase is worth a visit to this outstanding gallery. Welcoming they are to the public. With inquiries of a certain piece or of an artist, their director is called in giving the specific. Intriguing and exciting are all of their exhibits. Fabulous to note that this gallery cares in having each painting properly hung and enhanced with natural or strategically placed lighting in place. Lucky I was to catch their fabulously curated exhibit of "In Her Hands"; featuring Martha Diamond, Chantal Joffe, and, Nicole Wittenberg, three remarkable female painters' creations. CHEERS!

Yelp
The gallery itself is art, love the staircase! We came for the KAWS: SPOKE TOO SOON exhibition that will last from November 5 - December 11. Admission is free, you just have to reserve a time slot on the website. Definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Love this gallery. We always go when they have KAWS exhibits. Well managed. Friendly staff. Always responds to email and phone calls. Security is there to protect the art but you can stay as long as you and take millions of pictures. The stairway is to die for. Beautiful space. Close to the 6 train.

Yelp
I had no idea it was so small... expected at least an hour experience but was more like 10-15 minutes. That being said, it was really cool. Honestly my fault for not doing enough research. But just know it's like 3-4 small rooms only.

Yelp
I had made an appointment to go to the gallery but upon arrival, it seemed as if i didn't need one. The girl at the front made us put our bags in another room which was a little weird since we did see others with their bags, but I just made sure to not keep any valuables in the bag as the room was not attended by anyone. The gallery is very spacious with security on each floor. There weren't many people so it made browsing very comfortable. It was a relatively quick experience, but a pretty cool exhibit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Despite of the snow storm today, their gallery is open to the public. I enjoyed my visit. My first time visiting Upper East Side galleries and gallery hopping was such a wonderful experience. Today's theme are the arts of Sue Williams (1997-1998). I love abstract paintings and the gallery's wide space place gave a deep presentation of her paintings. The two floor exhibit kept me at peace during the entire time. I wish I could afford to purchase any that is being featured, thanks to the management for letting the public see what's they are selling without making anyone stay uncomfortable.

Yelp
The Skarstedt Gallery is very quiet with plain atmosphere/decor. Helpful friendly employee on the second floor today. The first floor reception employee appeared to be too busy to interrupt. The exhibit was interesting. I was not familiar with Eric Fischl's work. It was modern and moving. It made me think. I did not stay long. The showing was small with very large works of art. I had been next door to view art and may not have given this exhibit my full focus!! The exhibit is on display for a while. I'll return to take a closer look. They did have one nice feature added. When you enter you can pick up a handout. It is a paper with a photo of each painting and the description. You have it to keep and to use as a guide while viewing. I like that idea a lot!! Very convenient. After I familiarize myself with this info I'll do some research on the artist and then return. Marianne's SOP! (Standard Operating Procedure) Check out the gallery on line before you visit. It may not be your viewing choice.

Yelp
This museum is located in a block with many other independent galleries. The current theme when I visited centered around exoticism, eroticism and ideas surrounding Dante's inferno in a modern sense. Very wide space and pretty high ceilings. The place reminds me of the Museum of Modern Arts minus the many people that visit and the flight of stairs. Cost: free (definitely a perk) Atmosphere: modern and quiet If you are interested in a studying different themes of art and seeing the modernism, abstrasim and deciphering themes of art, I'd suggest you come here... Also it is free!
