Overall a very nice dinner, even if not outstanding across the board. Would recommend. Was pretty empty around 6 on a Friday night but started to fill up by 7 so a reservation would be wise.
The ambiance is nice if a little too dark/dim in areas, making it hard to see the menu and the cleanliness of the place/plates. Our server was nice and super sweet although we didn’t get her name.
Food-wise, the bread tasted fresh and was delicious, and the lamb sirloin was tender and not gamey, so was great for someone not a fan of lamb. However, the neck did taste gamey and I would personally have preferred a lighter sauce than hollandaise for the whole dish. Similarly, the shellfish pasta had a lot of fresh seafood and potential, but was sadly held back from reaching the heights of greatness by an exceedingly average sauce.
The standout of the night was definitely the langoustine tacos, which I had been least excited and most skeptical about coming from SoCal, but turned out to be the bomb. The pairing of flavors, from the savory to slightly sweet plus the delicate crispy breading of the langoustine was just simply *chef’s kiss*. These are definitely worth the hype, if not necessarily the other dishes. The lunch menu is more limited but also cheaper (and does include the tacos!) so that might be a better option if you’re wanting to try this place and want to be a bit more budget-conscious.
