Sinamale Bridge

A master piece of bridge architecture. This bridge connects three islands namely male, hulhumale and airport island. It also has footpath on both sides. The road is amazingly smooth and the views are breathtaking. It has made commute from male to hulhumale so convenient. It has great views of the airport as well .

Great design and very useful to reach people from airport to the capital of Maldives. The China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, the first cross-sea bridge in the Maldives built by a Chinese company, starts a new life for locals. Many Maldivians had thought building the cross-sea bridge was "an impossible dream." However, their dream came true

Nice long bridge and this is where you can find red lights!! The only 2 red lights in the whole country, i think. To cross the bridge with motorbike, you will need to wear helmet. And the speed limit on the bridge is 50km/hr while the rest of the country road is 30km/hr. I like riding from Hulhumale to Male during sunset. Its really nice.

Very easy and fast to travel bitween male and airport. But taxi faire is too expensive compare to dhoni boat ride. There is a bus service also but bus terminal location is not convince.

The 2,000-meter-long China-Maldives Friendship Bridge is Maldives’ first cross-sea bridge and connects the islands of Male, Hulhule and Hulhumale. The bridge was officially opened on Aug. 30, 2018 and is a landmark project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The bridge, an iconic project of the Maldives and China in co-building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, made it possible for locals and tourists travel between the two islands within five minutes.

Impressive architecture against the beautiful maldivian waters. Connects male to hulhumale. For runners: It is almost impossible to run in Male (due to high traffic (both human and cars/motorbikes). If you are looking for a stretch of roads uninterrupted, this is your best bet. On a side note: Another good running spot would be western Male: from westpoint fishing spot to Tsunami Monument. The stretch of road is a red colour rubber track which cushions impact and lesseb stress on the legs compared to hard roads.
