"From their yummy fried chicken sandwich to the delicious salted caramel 'cutie' pies, this is the place to indulge. There's soda floats, beer, and wine to boot. (Simplethings also has locations Westwood Village and Burbank.)"

"Simplethings is for people who understand why Google Maps is better than Waze - sometimes, simpler is just better. As their name suggests, this sandwich and pie shop excels at both of those things, but on the weekend, they also offer a full brunch menu including eggs Benedict, a cowboy scramble with Portuguese sausage, and bottomless mimosas for $10." - Kat Hong

Saw the restaurant while passing the area. It's a small place that's pretty clean. I ordered the kale salad while my sister ordered a tiny pie. The food came pretty quick and I liked my salad. Her pie wasn't really a pie, it was more like a tart. She was okay with her choice, so that's what really matters

WHAT DID I GET: The Fried Chicken Sandwich, the Key Lime Pie (small), and a Coke. HOW WAS IT: The sandwich was pretty solid; nothing mind-blowing, but it hit the spot. The Key Lime Pie (small), while good, was more of a tart; it came in this little tinfoil cup instead of as an actual slice, which was disappointing. I've seen other places do this as well with cakes and pies (serving them in little cups instead of as actual slices), and I really don't like it. If you're going to sell pie, I want an actual slice, not two bites of a slice of pie in a little cup (the large pie was also in a slightly larger tinfoil cup). HOW MUCH DID IT COST: Including tip, it was a little under $19. WOULD I COME BACK/RECOMMEND THIS PLACE: Maybe. I wouldn't say no, because the food was satisfying and the staff was pretty friendly. I also wouldn't say yes, because my table was wobbly and I feel like I got let down with the pie (again, I was really hoping for a slice, not tinfoil cups, of pie). Also, for what I got, I feel the price was a little too high.

I posted up here while the girl was getting her nails done next door. In addition to a phenomenal sandwich and great desserts, I was able to down $2.50 beers. Yes, you read that right, $2.50. When she came to pick me up they had $5 Summer Water. Not sure what that is, but the lady raved about it. Come in, eat some delicious food, have the most reasonably priced booze in LA, leave happy.

It's with a sad heart I report simplethings is no more, at least not how it was. I placed a pickup order today through their website, and at pickup the restaurant was completely empty and now appears to be a workspace for 3 separate restaurants. Our sandwiches were on untoasted bread with barely any ingredients. So sad and disappointing compared to what they were. I'm sure this is a product of the pandemic, but, the food was just so lackluster, I had to review.

I have been here a couple of times and I enjoy the service and the overall experience of the place. It is pretty clean and they have indoor and outdoor seating. The two times I have come here, I have always ordered the fried chicken sandwich and I love it. The next time I come, I will for sure try something else. Parks is a drag but thats the only downer I can think of.

The staff is friendly the food is great. They have amazing coffee and the desserts are absolutely delicious. The price of the food and coffee is great. They offer crayons so little ones can draw on the table. It’s a great place for solo dining to group dining. The food is delicious everything is fresh and so good!

Cannot thank everyone at this location enough. We placed a massive order online with a very quick turnaround and they had it ready fifteen minutes early despite being short one member of the kitchen. Ana was unbelievably helpful. She aided in sorting and packing all the different meals and we couldn't have managed without her. What an exceptional experience! Thank you all again.

Had a pretty subpar turkey sandwich here. The ingredients were fine, nothing special, but it was poorly constructed so it ended up with just a bunch of bread and no filling. Not terrible but not worth a second try. The only reason I'm giving it three stars is my girlfriend had a good breakfast sandwich. But if you can't do a standard turkey sandwich, can you really be trusted with something more complicated?
