Siegfried's Delicatessen

We didn’t know that to expect, we thought it would be more of a deli sandwich place. We were pleasantly surprised. Fast service, friendly and good food. The entree portions were large, my husband and I split the Weinerschnitzel and the 2 sides. It’s a very casual and there are German food products to purchase. The desserts looked so delicious, we were too full to have dessert, but will definitely be back to try their desserts and strudel. We were just in Berlin and we felt like we had just stepped back into Germany.

This is a very unique German restaurant! They have a lot of food options that are authentic German food, as well as options such as a grilled cheese, or chicken leg. We really loved the quality of food and the price was very reasonable. I got the Reuben on Rye and it was so good. It wasn’t overpowering at all, but it had enough flavor that it tasted amazing. Their cucumber salad was amazing with whatever vinegar they put on it and it was really fresh. My husband got a pork steak with potatoes and macaroni salad. His pork steak was a little chewy, but it was really good. The potatoes were flavored well and you can never go wrong with a Mac salad. For dessert, we got their cheese cake and their Napoleon. They both were amazing. They were each price about six dollars which I think is reasonable for the quality. I did not care for the German drink I got because it has a beer taste. I’m not a big fan of the taste of beer. We will definitely return and hope to bring our family so they can try some of the different types of food they offer. The guys behind us in line so they’re bratwurst is the best. There was plenty of seating for lunch, but it may get overcrowded if there’s an event.

The most delicious borscht I have ever ate. It was made with a big amount of yummy ingredients, including beet, mushrooms, and juicy meat balls. I would also recommend European pastries with espresso or cappuccino. Very special and interesting place to go, which doesn't look like anything else!

We’ve heard about this place for years and finally made it to dine in on a weekday before the lunch rush. It lived up to the hype! Service was quick and efficient…it’s a well oiled machine. Lots of options food wise and shopping wise. There’s a fun little shopping area to buy items for take home. By the time we left, there was quite a line for dining but it seems to move right along. Clean restaurant as well. Parking can be tricky, but there is a free parking garage for patrons between the deli and the Capital Theater. We will return when in downtown SLC. Best to come at an off hour to avoid the line and get a table.

Great German deli with European options. The Hungarian Goulash was delish and serve over spatzel, which may be German. The custard dessert was also very good. I would come here and eat the order the same thing.

Authentic German food or European deli sandwiches at a great price. Schnitzel, goulash, red cabbage, sauercraut, fried potatoes, apple streusel, marzipan, and more. Plenty of German confectioneries, including chocolates, biscuits, cookies, and black licorice. Frewh made pastry desserts. Seat yourself deli tables. Bigportionsfoethe price. We'll be back!

There is a great selection of German grocery items. I was excited to hear pounding (of schnitzel perhaps) from the kitchen. Placed my order for Schnitzel with gravy, a side of potatoes, a salad, and a bratwurst on the side since i saw curry ketchup at the condiment counter. The employee was not too friendly or acknowledging. She went to pull out a breaded piece of meat from the cooler below, so I figured at least it's freshly cooked. However, it was less than a minute before I was given my tray of food. Had to ask again for gravy. The food was disappointing. The "freshly prepared" schnitzel was rubbery and tasteless. I'm not sure where that gravy should go, but it's not on a schnitzel. Why not make a jagersauce? The potatoes were cold and stuck together. The bratwurst was flavorless, cold, and dry. The house salad dressing was the only enjoyable part of my meal. I lived in Germany for over 18 years. This is not German. Not good. I recommend Weller's in Ogden for a good jagerschnitzel and currywurst.
