"The Bold and Beautiful Laxmi Narayan Temple The Laxminarayan Temple (also called the Birla Mandir) is an elaborate Hindu temple of red and white columns, artificial mountains, and waterfalls. The temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi with the condition that the site would be open to all castes and faiths. "Laxmi Narayan" refers to the Hindu God Vishnu, the Preserver, with his consort Lakshmi, the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. There are also three side-temples dedicated to Buddha, Shiva, and Krishna. The temple is illuminated during two important holidays: Diwali, the Festival of Lights, and Janmashtami, Krishna's Birthday."

Shri Laxmi Narayan Temple, commonly known as the Birla Mandir, is a major Hindu temple in New Delhi dedicated to Lord Vishnu (Narayan) and Goddess Lakshmi. Built in 1939 by the Birla family and inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi, it is known for its beautiful Nagara-style architecture, marble and red-sandstone construction, and peaceful prayer halls. The temple complex also includes shrines to Shiva, Krishna, and Buddha, and is a popular spiritual and tourist site in the city. Free entry for toursits but must enter without phone , camera , wallet . There is security at entrance who handles checking and receiving the belongings into a locker . And must take shoes off before entry . So inside the temple You can only watch and move around . No way for any photos or videos .

This temple is truly beautiful—you must visit it at least once in your life for darshan. It's a very peaceful place that will touch your heart. The temple is quite large, and there's a park right next to it. Mobile phones aren't allowed here; they need to be deposited. Glory to Lakshmi Narayan 🙏

My visit to Birla Mandir on Janmashtami was a truly special experience. Even with the festival crowds, the atmosphere was peaceful and well-managed, allowing us to have a wonderful darshan in just 15 minutes. The temple was beautifully decorated for the occasion, adding to the festive mood. We were lucky to catch a cultural program in the Gita Mandir, which was a lovely way to see how the temple celebrates the festival. The highlight was how thoughtful the temple authorities were; juice was served to all the devotees, which was very welcome on such a busy day.

Visited yesterday after almost 20 years ,this place had never gone out of my mind ,not only me ,but many people childhood spent here i guess, Though the beauty never faded, Park behind the temple lost some shine as fountains was not working ,no or very less water in there. Small cave like structures was closed Only thing which i think it lacking is security .there was nl entry without phone in temple but anybody can enter through park with phone .

Birla Mandir, also known as Lakshmi Narayan Mandir, is a truly beautiful and positive place. The peaceful atmosphere makes the darshan experience serene, without long queues or unnecessary restrictions (apart from phones not being allowed inside, which actually adds to the joy of feeling the divine energy within the temple). The mandir also has a well-maintained garden with various attractions, making it friendly for kids as well. I was fortunate to visit on the occasion of Radhashtami, in pleasant weather, which made the experience even more memorable.
