"Indulge Your Wine 'Sensus' Turkey, one of the few countries in the world to be self-sustainable in food production, grows more than 600 grape varieties and is an emerging leader in producing good quality wines. It's no wonder that wine bars specializing in Turkish wines are sprouting up over Istanbul . A wonderful place to sample and buy Turkish wine (şerap, as it’s known in Turkish) is Sensus Wine Bar, tucked away on a cobbled street almost on the doorstep of the Galata Tower. Here you can purchase or sample wines from around the country along with cheeses and olives. I recommend taking some friends and staying a while in the cellar-like atmosphere and ordering a sample plate that comes with wines and delicious meze."

We loved this wine bar! We don't get Turkish wines in California and were delighted to experience many varieties here. Great spot for tastings and snacks. We went back the next day as well if that says anything. If you're lucky, Garfield the cat will hop on you're lap. Be warned, do not over-pet him, he may bite you!

I first came here in 2018, and the quality of the food and service was quite good. Six years later, I went again for a nice meal, but I noticed that the taste and service quality had declined. I regret to say that this time it fell short of expectations.

I liked this place, and I’ve been there twice a week. Their food (salad, bolognese, cheesecake) was good. Their wine was excellent. We tried pyramid, miratus, and shiraz - I liked them all, but pyramid was the best. If you consider it a wine-tasting place with an atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed. With that being said, I think certain customers will find this place expensive. I thought the prices were reasonable.

Wine is very average, something like you can by in any European supermarket for a price 4 euro per bottle, here would cost 13 euro per glass. Cheese plate is great. Also a hostess lady had renewed her perfume (ultra sweet and very intense scent) during the evening which is quite disturbing not only for a wine bar but for any restaurant in general

What a fantastic hidden gem right next to Galata Tower! We went to take a look in the hotel and were surprised to find how affordable the menu was, considering we were expecting it to be eye-wateringly expensive. We didn't realise the restaurant itself was downstairs and when we were led down there were amazed at the lovely cosy warm atmosphere! The food was great and considering the location and setting, really well priced (certainly not cheap but not crazy expensive either). My one negative would be that when we went back a couple of days later around 1.45 we were initially told that the restaurant wouldn't open for another half an hour by the receptionist, but eventually after waiting until 2.30 we went downstairs ourselves and were told it would be another hour still! So maybe make sure to go only late afternoon/evening as it doesn't seem to be so much a lunchtime place (though we must have gotten lucky first time round).

Easy to find next to Galata Tower. We ordered a selection of 4 white wines and 4 Red wines for tasting. We had the cheese platter and tapas as a condiment. We enjoyed all of it and the service was great. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the wines and guided us accordingly. How ever, we were not inclined to buy any wines as they didn't quite hit the spot with us. The basement shop is very nice with a cozy atmosphere. We liked it a lot.
