"A tiny former ferry—the m/v Fremont Avenue —takes 50-minute spins around Lake Union, a glacial-gouged body of fresh water the size of Monaco. A cruise reveals gorgeous views of the Space Needle and Seattle 's skyline, as well as the rusted splendor of the world’s last remaining synthetic-gas plant, now a postindustrial play space for picnics and kite-flying. Quirky narration highlights more hidden sights, like the studio of world-renowned glass artist Dale Chihuly and its birdhouses shaped like vintage RVs. We love this cruise! They have upper and lower indoor deck so it’s perfect for any weather year round. Dog friendly is a big plus as well. The captain and crew member are always so welcoming and friendly. For a 45 minutes boat ride you get a nice view of Lake Union, city skyline, Space Needle, Gas Work park, learn lots of interesting facts about Seattle history, while sipping on a root beer float?! Perfect! Every time there are friends visiting us from out of town, we take them on this cruise and they all love it!

A fantastic trip around lake union with plenty of local history and delicious sweet treats along the way. Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable about local happenings. Show up early to ensure your place on the next sailing - currently they only allow 30 people per trip for physic distancing practices.

This was one of the best "bang for our buck" stops in Seattle! Everything was fabulous - the staff, the captain, the tour guide, and the prices for the boat ride and ice cream. The tour was the perfect length (45 minutes), and had indoor and outdoor seating options. The tour guide had incredible information that brought the city history and milestones together nicely.

This was far more cruise and far less ice cream than I had pictured and 100% a great time! This is a fun time for the whole family because the kids will love being on a boat and enjoying ice cream while the adults will enjoy the tour given by the boat captain (as well as the ice cream and boat aesthetic). A very calm way to spend an hour in Seattle and a great way to learn a bit about the history of Seattle.

If you are in Seattle you need to do this! We visited from Minnesota and it was just my husband and I with no kids and we still had an amazing time! The ship's captain was very informative and fun-plus you got to eat ice cream! It was the perfect afternoon cruise.
