Seattle Gaslight Inn

We had a wonderful stay at the Gaslight Inn. Ryan and Joelle were great hosts, helped with everything we needed. The Inn is super comfortable, we just enjoyed a few hours down time everyday when we're between activities and it felt like home. The location was excellent with everything we needed and more right down the block. Would definitely stay here again and anytime we are in Seattle. Thank you for a great getaway!

Our stay was once again fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our spacious room and Joelle and Ryan are always so warm and welcoming. One of our favorite things to do is to sit by the large fireplace and read a book or chat with our kids when they come by to visit. This time it was snowing when we arrived so being in the warm and inviting home and looking out onto the snow-covered roofs was just magical. This is our home away from home and definitely the best choice in town.

This beautiful Craftsman has been turned into a welcoming space with spacious guest rooms, suitable for a long stay. We were there for ten days and enjoyed our stay, and if you like staying in places with character, you probably will too. |Rooms have wardrobes and chests of drawers, and we were able to fully unpack our suitcases and had room to stow them. As is often the case in repurposed old homes, bathrooms have showers only and are on the small side. |In the dining room, there is coffee and tea service, several flavors of yogurt, and other snacks for a light breakfast, and Bakery Nouveau that is a few blocks away makes splendid pastries. We enjoyed starting the day in the bright, prettily decorated dining room. |Those arriving by car should know that there is no on-site parking, and you may have to unload and park a few blocks away. The hotel issues parking passes that allow you to ignore the restricted times, and if you have a standard size vehicle you probably will have no problem. We had a full-size SUV but still had no problem except for one evening, when I had to look for a while. The neighborhood is generally quiet but has restaurants and eclectic shopping within a few blocks, and public transit goes direct from Downtown and the ferry terminal to a nearby bus stop. I'm not going to bother to rent a car next time, since this is a transit-friendly city and I would have saved money by using Lyft.|Those with allergies should know that there is a resident cat - we never saw him above the first floor or in any guest rooms, though. |All in all, our stay was very good and we will return.

My friend and I stayed at the Gaslight for one night in December for a six night trip across Seattle and Vancouver. Our night in the Gaslight was almost the best of our trip, and we went on to see Taylor Swift a few days later. Ryan and his family have gone out of there way to create the most warm, welcoming, comfortable, and charming environment in this historic inn that is so clearly built and tended to with love. It's also beautiful - there are wood banisters and stained glass windows! I spent the morning at the Gaslight reading in one of the communal living rooms, which was so cozy and familial. We slept great. Ryan is incredibly friendly and gave us tips on the boarder crossing into Canada and other Vancouver tips once he learned we were in town for the concert. You will feel taken care of by Ryan and his family, which is so nice when you are traveling in a new city. TL;DR the Gaslight is the perfect haven to wind down and relax in after a long day exploring Seattle or the fun Capitol Hill neighborhood, and we cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Gaslight Inn for starting our trip off right!

I've stayed here two times for work and am happy to give my dollars to this local business that's every bit as good as a major hotel chain. Ryan and Joelle are super friendly and will do everything they can to make your stay better. They're very knowledgeable about the area and make good recommendations. The rooms are spacious and the shared restroom is maintained well. The ground floor lobby and sitting spaces are beautiful and make a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening aperitif before heading out on the town. The adjacency to the light rail makes it fairly convenient get around, too. Parking is usually not much of an issue but like with any residential neighborhood it can take a modicum of patience a willingness to walk 2-3 blocks to find a spot in the evening. This is an excellent bet if you like a unique stay in a historic but still comfortable building which, if not as modern as a chain hotel, will be a lot less generic.

I originally chose to stay at the Seattle Gaslight Inn based on how affordable it was, without knowing much about it or the neighborhood. I am SO glad I did. My friend and I enjoyed our stay so much. Our room was comfortable and we had everything we needed, but what really sold us on the inn was the warmth, coziness, and charm. The ground floor truly feels a living room (with some lovely Christmas decor), especially because Ryan and family (who run the inn) are frequently around. The inn is not technically a B&B but it has the feel of one, which is remarkable given that it's in the middle of a major city. The neighborhood was great, super easy to walk to tons of coffee shops, parks, and restaurants. I wished I could've stayed longer than 1 night. Thank you Ryan and family for the excellent stay, and for taking such good care of this historic inn. I would highly recommend the Seattle Gaslight Inn for anyone stopping through Seattle!

We had a lovely time staying at the Gaslight Inn. The building is beautiful - inside and out. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We were able to store our luggage upon arrival to wait for our room. In the neighborhood there are lots of little cafes and restaurants to grab a bite (all the ones we tried were delicious) and we were able to walk everything. In case you want to opt out for public transport that’s also very easy from the location. I’d say here again if I was visiting Seattle.

An amazing stay over the Holidays! Our family rented the entire property for 5 nights and throughout the stay everyone routinely commented about how much they enjoyed the home. Ryan and Joelle were kind enough to give us access to the commercial (but cozy) kitchen to prepare holiday meals. If you enjoy a unique stay in a historic property you will love the Seattle Gaslight Inn.
