Google
A must-visit store for lovers of design. It's pretty much a selection of my favourite makers and design styles distilled into one place.

I met a French guy in a bird mask, seemed friendly enough, but then some guys with Assault Rifles walked in and administered me amnesiacs. I

Nice selection of furniture to try it actually has the marenco!

Love this furniture store! Lovely small cafe. Great for gift shopping.

I bought an oriental mask there to put on my wall. Unfortunately, when I tried to wear it to amuse my friends, my face started itching, I gained quite a few scars and the flesh on my face and limbs started to rot away. However, this was not the end of it. Two men in military uniforms came up to me and started shooting my face. Overall, it was an utterly horrific experience with bad customer service and poor furniture design. I will not be returning. Especially because I am currently locked away in a maximum security cell.

Google
A wonderfully curated shop full of furniture, furnishings and gift items. It would be nearly impossible to walk out of this shop without buying anything. Today it was a lovely tray, but there were so many other things which were outstanding. Fortunately, I was saved from spending £1000 on a wildly expensive but also wildly beautiful standard lamp as it had already been sold!

Interior decorating is my passion. There is nothing more relaxing than good home design. I transformed my living room into a lovely place with the furniture I've bought from this store. I found amazing things at good prices. If you need attractive household goods, you will definitely like this place.

Provides a good selection of high quality furniture and lighting. Beware, this is not a bargain corner treasure trove. Although discounted, a lot of the stock is expensive. However, if you have the funds, you can by stylish and unique pieces.

Yelp
Amazing customer service on the phone, and they are stocking items that no one else has in country. Thank you!

Yelp
Oh, SCP East. Enter the doors to this stylish lair on Curtain Road...waft dreamily around the luxuriously funky fabrics, tangibly tempting textiles and handmade pretty pieces of pomp and circumstance. The prices are surely not for the faint of heart. Rather, SCP East is a place in which you select an "anchor." Something by which the rest of your home rotates and revolves. An eye-catching pillow. A hand stitched throw. A chair your grandchildren will covet in 50 years. It's surely a splurge, but one that will not be regretful. I popped in on a chilly Sunday to find a bustling shop full of revelers. There's quite a few gifts to be had as well, so if you are looking for that "hard to find" special someone, take a peek in here and see if there might be something you never thought of. As for home decor, SCP East will inspire. A well-curated selection appealing to the upper echelon of the East London crowd. Working on a budget? Come for the creative energy and if something catches your eye...save and build around it. Nothing else will do now that you've seen the potential. Great locally-owned shop with interesting pieces. I'll surely be back once I've gotten a grip on how expensive London is. The throws were literally calling my name from their bundles "Colleen, cuddle with us. Take us home."

Yelp
Well done on managing to find this review on SCP! I say this because for some reason this shop makes almost no effort to write its name on anything. I must have been in here hundreds of times and it was only on my last visit that I made a conscious effort to read the small white writing on the door frame that read SCP. Come on guys, I know you're trying to be stylish but with a shop this good you should be screaming your name from the roof top! SCP is the kind of place that most of us will never buy anything from but will nonetheless enjoy roaming through the store. Furniture in here is so stylish it would only suit a very specific style of house and a very full wallet for that matter! However, for the rest of us SCP also stocks a great range of smaller items, kitchen accessories and design books. These things are a lot more affordable and will allow you to take home a bit of SCP's style without breaking the budget. Staff are lovely although I always get the impression they are looking over my shoulder for a more profitable customer. This aside, SCP is a great shop!

Yelp
Every time I pass this shop, I have to get insite and when I walk in, I dream about finally having my own flat and coming here for a shopping spree. This two-floor-shop is filled up with everything you need to make your place (not only house, but also garden) sweet and cosy. I'm like a big child, so all the cushions with foxes and plates with child like painted faces make me melt, but fear not, they have plenty of stuff that should appeal to serious grown-ups as well. You will find here everything from spoon to hook and every item is far from being ordinary. Apart from the home ware, you can buy here quirky toys, beautiful ceramic jewellery, books and other stuff that will definitely make an original present. And if you plan holidays under a tent, they have a small selection of camping essentials that for sure will make you stick out among other campers. One tip: don't try to sit on their sofas. Fabulously padded, they'll make you want to stay there forever!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I bought a lovely L-shaped couch here a few years ago. We use it to this day and it's super comfortable. It cost us a lot but it was so worth it that we are tempt to go back and buy a few more furniture.

Yelp
First a confession and a shameful one at that: I only discovered this ostensible design institution today. Despite being intrigued by SCP with its vast windows and modernist looking homeware, I had never dared venture inside, it all just looked a little too grown up. Having transcended my quarter life crisis and acquiesced to the fact that I will soon develop an interest in interiors to match all the other 'interests' that I can barely afford, I chanced a peek inside SCP earlier today and struck by a strange sense of deja vu. Aha, I thought! This is where "I'm the man" Shoreditch media bosses buy those neon pigeon lights that seem compulsory in every agency up and down the land. This is where design junkies pick up atomic coat hangers for £150 a pop and peruse ethically sourced design objects made out of organically reared reeds that only look right in unthinkably modern apartments. Sarcasm aside, SCP is a beautifully done shop with a vast selection of objects by some of the finest contemporary designers working today. Check out the Christmas section for some superbly witty ideas. My best find? Patterned fabric wrapping paper that can be re-used as a pillowcase or bag once the blessed day has passed. Absolute genius.

Yelp
This shop makes me a little sad that I may never be able to afford my own house and as such will forever be surrounded by cheap cast offs and ugly home ware from Argos because it seems a bit ridiculous to spend more than double figures for anything in a rented apartment. Sniff sniff. Having said that there are plenty of design based classics in SCP other than beautiful furniture. They have a huge selection of wooden toys and some very cute and quirky stuffed ones from designer Donna Wilson. They also sell stationary, soft furnishings and lighting so even for the economically challenged it's still possible to pick up something to brighten the interior of your grubby bedsit without breaking the bank.

Yelp
This is a place to buy statement pillows. Or statement lamps. Or to invest in really any piece of decor that someone will notice when entering your home. You will also hope they notice, because if you do find something here, the chances are it is not a bargain. The buyers guilt of having made this purchase will only fade with every new "ooh" and "ahh" of delight. But, the good news is you will probably hear plenty! As a person who has roots nowhere, I dream of a day when I stay in a place long enough to purchase quirky espresso cups and wooden calendars and beautiful mirrors that won't get lost or detroyed in a move. The collections here are largely Scandinavian in design, but with a little more fun thrown in by way of crazy prints and patterns. They had some adorable baby books and dolls that would make lovely new parent gifts. I'll probably be back to ogle if I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I'm a Jew. Us Jews love a bargain. I will not find that Bargain at SCP East. Here you can by a lamp that looks like a pigeon and it will cost you £200. It's not just expensive, it's stupid expensive, so that even the crap they're selling sale price is still to expensive for any normal person to be able to buy. The problem is, that loads of the stuff in here is awesome. Super duper awesome. Wicker pouffes, felt coasters, touch lamps and more... It makes you blush to think just how much Ikea crap you actually have in your house when there are really cool designs out there, it's just they are harder to find and will cost a kidney. Great for gifts but don't come in here on pay day or you'll be eating beans on toast for the rest of the week.

Yelp
SCP has been around for over 20 years and is one of London's best designer furniture and homewares retailers. They have worked with some of the best-known names in contemporary design like Jasper Morrison and Matthew Hilton, commissioning and manufacturing some pieces themselves, as well as stocking the work of other heavyweights such as Robin Day, Tom Dixon and Konstantin Grcic, and lots of less well-known designers. The Curtain Road store is their original and flagship (another opened last year in Westbourne Grove) with a good range of furniture and lighting upstairs and to order, and downstairs a variety of smaller things like tableware, books, jewellery, gifts and home accessories. Prices are around average - which can obviously be expensive for the design classics - but their range and diversity makes it well worth a visit if you have a new place or are looking for an interesting present, and you will also find plenty of things exclusive to their shops.

Yelp
Despite having been on Curtain Road many, many times I stumbled in here for the first time today, and though I can't afford anything in the store, it is a wonderful place to browse (and imagine being able to buy things). Marrimekko and Rob Ryan products. I approve immensely.

Yelp
lovey place that reminded me very much of nyc's the future perfect (brooklyn) and property (soho). lots of beautiful pieces to inspire/feed the nesting instinct. but pricey. a galvanized tin watering can should not cost £40, or if it does, maybe stock up on a more affordable alternative for the less flush individuals? but maybe that's what ikea and habitat are for?

Yelp
What a great find this shop was! Three floors of amazing furniture, lighting and lots of other stuff to browse and feast your eyes on! They have a excellent range of designers. A little bit pricey but it's worth it!

Yelp
Even though both physical stores are quite fun and nice, it is shame that their sales services for big furnitures are poor. I bought a bookcase and, at first time, they collected wrong amount of money from me and asked me to repay again; there were two different staff calling me twice for confirming delivery. And when I mentioned about the size of the pieces --because I have no idea about whether the furniture will come as a whole or in pieces. And the lady suddenly changed her attitude and told me that it was my responsibility to ensure it before I purchase it. What a joke! And by the delivering day, there were two guy came with cursing -- I mean, unfortunately the guy had no reason to be rude and sounded like a racist. I felt it quite offensive indeed. Therefore, be objectively, SCP has many interesting design accessories in store, but buying big furnitures in-store which requires after-sale services will surely disappoint customers enthusiasm. I would suggest never buy any customising furnitures because poor service will surely give you bad experience.
