Scandic Holmenkollen Park Hotel

Good hotel but the restaurant was a big disappointment. The hotel service, cleanliness and rooms were really good, but the restaurant managed to ruin the whole thing. I ordered hamburger meals for myself and my 6 year old son. My meal was quite good but the hamburger in the children's meal still shocks me. Apart from the buns and the steak, there was nothing, NOTHING, not even ketchup. A dry and tasteless hamburger. My son and I were really hungry and I couldn't start returning the food and waiting for a new portion again so I added the toppings from my own hamburger to it so that the child agreed to eat it. When the waiter asked, I told him about this big problem and the answer was that the children's hamburger is so big for the price that it doesn't include any condiments 😂😂😂 what the hell? My first visit to Norway and this was a highlight in my memory. A refund wasn't even offered. The best part was when we left; we had politely paid the whole bill to a different waiter and when we walked away this waiter who told a great story about the hamburger shouted after us that you forgot to pay!! 😂 5 stars for the hotel, 1 star for the restaurant. That star only comes from the good breakfast. The spa's policy is also surprising that children are not allowed there. Children are only allowed to go in the morning from 8-10, I tried to book 2 days earlier and it didn't work as all the places were booked for the morning.

As mentioned in the title - an excellent hotel. A bit expencive, but if you check in at the old part like we did, you have an absolutely amazing view over the city. Additionally, the service from the staff was 10/10 and the food was awesome at both breakfast and the ala carte dinner. Compliments to the chef. :-) ||||The hotell is located a bit far off from the tram station, with a pretty steep hill if you have luggage and such - which you usually have. But the Uber and Bolt services are readily available and takes you to the city center for a very decent cost.||||And... I have to mention... if you book a room in what they call the "historical building", I can promise you that you have NEVER seen a hotel like this! Absolutely amazing! :-)||||

We had a great 4 nights stay here with amazing views over Oslo and the surrounding areas. Recommended spending extra to get a room with a view as that made the whole trip for us. Breakfast was good, abit busy on the weekends, the worst part was the other hotel guests 😂😂

Amazing hotel, best hotel gym I've been to (10/10), service in the restaurant a bit weird and off-putting (but made up for by everything else). Breakfast exceptional. Beautiful views and worth a visit when in Oslo.

We are a family of traditions, but this Christmas was different in so many ways. We decided to try something new; celebrate Christmas with the core family at a hotel. I will give my wife all the credit for picking this great hotel in Oslo. The view from the entrance and some of the rooms was fantastic. The welcome from the reception made you feel at home at once. The atmosphere felt calm and luxurious at the same time, but still "down to earth" and not extravagant. Shoulders lowered at once. It's Christmas. We stayed for two nights, including Christmas evening. The service was absolutely amazing, and the food was great. There are several good options for walking around and taking in nature, and if you like cross country skiing, there are great options nearby. I can guarantee that I will be back with my family.

The hotel was cozy and charming, and the room was very nice with a view over all of Oslo. The location up at Holmenkollen was outstanding. The downside was the offerings in the restaurant, especially the service; the maître d' and waitstaff were rude and unfriendly. The service in the restaurant was poor and absolutely not in line with the rest of the hotel. On New Year's Eve, when the buffet cost 1300 NOK and the guests were dressed up for the celebration, the maître d' was running around in jeans and sneakers. Basic courtesy was completely lacking; there was no thank you from the staff or even a Happy New Year from them on New Year's Eve. The bill didn't come to the table; instead, you had to go pay on your way out, which is not how it should be when paying for an expensive buffet.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, offering breathtaking views (especially on New Years Eve!), convenient access to skiing, and proximity to the city. The room was beautiful, the hotel well-maintained, and the breakfast delicious—truly a great start to the day.||However, the experience was marred by the lack of soundproofing in the rooms. We struggled to sleep due to noise from people running in the corridors and flushing toilets, often late into the night—on some occasions until 3 a.m. This significantly affected our rest and overall comfort.||Additionally, we booked a spa session but were disappointed to discover upon arrival that the pool was out of service. We had cut short our skiing session—an activity we had paid a considerable amount for—to attend the spa, only to find out that we could not fully enjoy the facilities. This lack of prior communication was extremely frustrating and resulted in us missing out on over half a day of skiing as we would not have left early knowing the pool was out of service.

Walking distance from the train station and a stunning elevated view over Oslo . The fires within the hotel were you can sit and chillax with a drink are lovely. Only thing was the charge to use the swimming pool. (Should be included within the price of the rooms.)

Really a 3.5. I attended a meeting here that took place over a few days where the topic was ironically, luxury adventure travel. The Scandic Homenkollen Park was a decent host with both hits and misses. HITS: The entrance and main lobby to the hotel was beautiful and welcoming. The food served at breakfasts, the included lunches, cocktail party and the farewell dinner were all very very good. The meeting room set up was comfortable and run well. Lots of us commented that the one big culinary surprise was how good the reindeer main dish was at our dinner. I loved the bed in my room with the double separate duvets (I must be in Europe!) - the rest of the room, not so much - see below. Wifi worked well. MISSES: Many of us ended up in very small, dark rooms. Very basic. If there was a room safe, I couldn't find it easily. After I checked in, I had a really hard time finding my room. I asked several housecleaning staff for help, and I was sent down long corridors to no avail. We had lunch one day at the dining area near the main lobby. Service was pretty atrocious and unfriendly. Overall, it served as it was meant to be - a conference hotel.

10/10 views from above OSLO probably one of the coolest hotels I've been at. Service, food GYM and overall atmosphere is amazing. If you in Oslo I would definitely recommend stop by for a night I'm telling you won't disappoint. Little spooky Scandinavian vibes.

My husband and I needed somewhere quiet, peaceful and beautiful to rest. My sister recommended this place. The room was TINY, the decor of the hotel is very eclectic. Very cozy space and feels very outdoorsy. Restaurant was very tasty and also very pricey. Struggled to get food delivery food options but the desk clerk was very helpful in assisting us. Was a nice cozy spot but may get something with more food options nearby next time.

Have a reservation booked here for late April 2021 and was very much looking forward to my stay. However, Scandic has closed the hotel to all guests due to the pandemic. That is understandable. But what is not understandable is that they refuse to issue a refund on the rate. They essentially want to charge me for something that they cannot provide. Multiple appeals have been ignored or met with a flat no. They simply will not provide what I paid them for, which is a simple contracts case. Not to mention, other non refundable rates I had booked at hotels in Norway, Germany and the UK -- where the hotels are open -- were refunded due to the government restrictions that essentially prohibit Americans from entering Europe. But know Scandic Holmenkollen Park and Scandic Hotels wont' do right by its customers and should be avoided.

Amazing views all around, beers food a bit pricey but well worth the visit if on a romantic holiday. If into outdoor sports, hiking, biking, or snow sports this is the place for you. Do bring your own snacks the stores around here are few to none.

Stay far away from the lobby cafe/bar. Slow service and the worst waffles that I've ever had in Oslo. The view is nice tough.

Went for the midday buffet lunch...and, of course, the views and history of place. The food was good...but the five stars come from the setting and scenery. Lovely...certainly worth the time to take the scenic ride out of the city.

I enjoyed my stay at Park Hotel Rica in Oslo very much.It certainly made my business a pleasure :) its far from the city centre but its got some great attractions near by, its welcoming, friendly and the rooms are great.
