Savoy Palace

I have been to quite is few 5 star hotels and this is certainly one of the best. The most impressive aspect besides the beautiful views, rooms and inscribe breakfast buffet were the staff members. At reception we were greeted by Raquel who was so accommodating and welcoming. She laid out our stay and answered all our questions. The staff at breakfast were friendly and would attend to our every need. Juan (from Venezuela) was particularly efficient and attentive. While the bedroom could use a better closet design we found it ample and enough. We were on vacation and unless I had a personal valet with us then we didn’t need a walk in closet. We made it work. The bathroom was stunning and the blackout drapes, perfect. And the staff made us feel welcome with holiday treats daily.||The food everywhere was superb and the service impeccable. Our thanks to the food manager Alberto Serraăo, who was gracious and charming through a small issue. An absolute professional! He immediately fixed the problem and we were thrilled. ||We will return,

Extraordinary every time. Been here two times the last two months. Rooms, venues, full board lunch and dinner restaurants offer delicious adventures. Spa and treatments are perfect. Hotel room view and infinity pool are beyond satisfying. Interior decoration is lovely and exquisite, and staff service is excellent.

Fantastic hotel near the heart of Funchal. The hotel has great rooms. The vibe is a bit like the 1990s- In a nice way - not as a negative. The buffet breakfast is excellent- wide selection of food and pastries. Service at the reception was excellent with friendly help from Marta.

I expected much more from a “Savoy Palace Hotel”. I stayed at the Savoy Palace Hotel on Madeira Island, Funchal, Portugal. The Savoy Palace brand always seemed to me the best of all and I was disappointed. The hotel is wonderful, the staff are friendly, the breakfast has lots of options, it's really nice, but I was hoping for something that would impress me. The grab and go coffee was terrible, cold and few options of food, they said that will improve it…..

Very chic hotel with beautifully furnished rooms; the view of the ocean is breathtaking. The location of the hotel is perfect, a 10-15 minute walk to the city center, with a view of the ocean and the harbor from the window. Shops and restaurants are nearby. The room was large and clean, with a very comfortable bed. Very good selection at breakfast, and the SkyBar was a highlight. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful. When booking via the hotel’s website, you get some benefits; however, these are sometimes forgotten at checkout, so please keep that in mind :)

Beautiful modern, stylish hotel, with a rooftop bar, and pool affording panoramic views across the harbour and the mountains behind. It is linked to its sister the Royal Savoy by a footbridge. It offers a number of eating venues, although there are several more affordable places to eat adjacent to the hotel that are equally stylish. Couldn’t fault anything about the hotel, the staff were all lovely, and definitely the best place to stay (in our opinion). Its position is perfect for access to all that Funchal has to offer. Be prepared for a €200 hold against your card when you check in - it is released after you check out. Also, anything you charge to your room has an auto 10% service charge added - they happily removed this at checkout as I had tipped some staff separately.|Overall, it is what you expect from a premium hotel - excellent location, facilities, and staff.

Amazing hotel worth more than 5* . Check in progress fast and kind staff! The house quality cleaned our room 3 times 😱 and they were very kind too. At night also a small water and a chocolate on our bed. Breakfast with nice options and tasty. Service in restaurants very nice. They change the buffet everyday for different variety! And the galaxia bar was amazing designed! Thank you very much!

Biggest issue with this hotel at least in the winter time is the swimming pools. Outdoor pools are cold and you can not really use them. During our visit maybe 3-5 persons use the pools. Indoor pool was warm, but very small and it was mainly for small kids. So if you would like to use pools and swim do not choose this hotel. If you do not like swimming then this hotel is nice.
