Just like Emily in Paris, I fell in love with this charming spot! The croissants are absolute perfection - flaky, crispy, and utterly delicious. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, especially when sitting outside in the quiet alleyway. The service was top-notch, attentive, and friendly. Plus, the prices are very reasonable and fair. A must-visit for anyone looking for a delightful Parisian experience!

So, here, you can have the best croissant ever! I just don't understand what is with the frowning ladies in this bakery, I'm not saying they must smile to customer but it would be much nicer if they do! Their cinnamon roll is not baked enough I don't recommend

An excellent boulangerie in the 5th arrondissement. Super kind staff and great service. Massive selection of everything one would want. The baguettes, croissants, almond croissants, quiche are all excellent. Only after having their croissant did I learn that Boulangerie Moderne was #4 in the Paris baker’s union list of top-ranking croissants, announced on May 6, 2025 at the Fête du Pain. Was certainly the best croiss I've ever had. For an indulgence, I definitely recommend the legendary Paris-Brest.

Croissant is good, haven’t tried other bakeries. 1.5 euro each. Not dogs allowed.

Came to see where Emily (in Paris) enjoyed her first pain au chocolate and stayed for the pastries. We arrived late morning but there was still a decent selection of pastries, so much so, it was quite overwhelming! Staff were super patient and helpful. We tried a croissant and a pistachio chocolate pastry. Both were excellent and easily the best pastries we had in Paris. Would definitely go back next time I'm in town.

We were so pleased to have popped in for takeaway lunch. The filled baguettes were super fresh and service was really efficient. Emily was onto a good thing!

This place is very close to the Pantheon, so it's a really good choice to visit if you're going to go to the Pantheon. First off, the vibes and atmosphere here are pretty good, with the shop being very near a good sitting area with a fountain nearby. So, if you sit down and eat nearby, it'll be a good time. I got the Pain au Chocolat here, and it was very good! Definitely crispy on the outside and soft inside, with the croissant being just hot enough for the chocolate inside to be somewhat soft (as opposed to being just solid and hard at some other places I was at). It's one of the better chocolate croissants I've had in Paris so far. I also had a prosciutto sandwich (sorry, I forgot the official name), and it was also quite good, too. They used some dark baguette for it, and had a good mix of vegetables with the prosciutto to be filling enough, while still emphasizing enough of the prosciutto in it. Service-wise, I did appreciate the staff being willing to indulge on my attempts at speaking French, without bouncing back to English too quickly. I know it's common in Paris to do the latter (which I think it's okay, since I think it's just the Parisian way to help out tourists, and to get service going on faster), but it's kinda nice that these folks also tried hard to understand the French I was trying to say too. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for folks visiting Paris, and would be happy to visit again!

Don't go to this place; there are better bakeries in France. They are incredibly disrespectful to tourists. I'm Brazilian and have lived in the US for 20 years. I started speaking English because I don't speak French. English is a universal language, so I don't think they understand that yet. The attendant started speaking French very loudly and harshly. She asked me to move to the side in a very small space. I told her there wasn't room, and she kept speaking loudly and giving me dirty looks. I ended up leaving and didn't buy anything. There was another Brazilian in line who was shocked at how I was treated. In Brazil and the US, foreigners are treated very well; some French people haven't learned this yet. It's a shame.🤦🏻‍♀️

Yelp
This is another award winning boulangerie for their croissant. The croissant was great quality as well and I enjoyed giving it a try. The croissant was a bit smaller than others, but it was still delicious. If you're in the area looking for pastries, they would definitely satisfy the cravings, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit.

Yelp
Croissant was pretty good, not the best but top few. Leek Quiche they heat you for me, the crust was a bit too thick so it feels dry, otherwise not bad as well. Def has better quiche somewhere else though.

Yelp
OMG! We went to this place because my wife is a fan of Emily in Paris and this is the place where she eats her first pain au chocolat. The line was long but worth it. I would have waited 15 minutes to be attended to; it is that good. You can grab your item and either seat outside and enjoy people walking by or just cross the street to Place de La Estrapade (little park in front of where Emily lives in Paris) and enjoy the water in the fountain and the pigeons. We went to this place at least three times and everything we ordered was divine. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Feel free to also order their sandwiches. While the sandwiches may look plain, they are filled with flavor. I could not believe that something so simple could be so wonderful; this is when you realize the importance of good ingredients

Yelp
Well situated in the Latin Quarter. We enjoyed their pastries twice in a 5 day trip. I love their croissants along with their other offerings.

Yelp
Award winning boulangerie. I ate my weight in baguette et pain au chocolat. You should too.

Yelp
Croissant was excellent! Flaky on the outside and soft on the inside. I don't think they have hot drinks. But they have some tables outside, so you can eat there amongst pigeons (and chain-snaking French people) if you don't live in a walking distance.

Yelp
I totally did not recognized that this is THE bakery in Emily in Paris. Not only did I go in looking like a total tourist, I order une pain of chocolat and they lady (of course) corrected me to un pain au chocolat. It is not the best croissant in Paris, but it is definitely tasty and has all that you need. Super super affordable - it was less than 2 euros for most items.

Yelp
I typically prefer plain croissants, but the layers in their chocolate one stood out. The vanilla in the flan blended well with the crust. The salmon gave the croissant roll cut in half some flair, along with the white buttery substance. Many flavors of fruit and seeds came though as well as the caramel on the florentine. The doughnut looking pastry cut in half and filled with almond cream was a winner. Some other reviews call it the Paris Beast.

Yelp
I'm a big Emily in Paris fan so finding locations was a must! We walked over in the rain last Friday at 2pm but unfortunately it was closed. Super sad as we would have loved to get some yummy bread and pastries and enjoyed the place. Wondering when they're actually open.

Yelp
We visited on first morning in Paris. Enjoyed delicious croissants and coffee. A perfect start to our visit! Merci beaucoup!!

Yelp
Staff was quite rude and food was defintely not great. We had a croque monsieur and a brie sandwich. Seriously overrated unfortunately.

Yelp
Français: Excellentes viennoiseries. Boulangerie Française typique et authentique. English: Great tasting stuff. Typical French boulangerie. Nothing fancy, but highly authentic ambiance and true to the French way. I've enjoyed their pastries many times after school as a child for my " goûter " back in the day. Don't go there for "Emily in Paris", go there to soak in a piece of France, of our truly unique culture. French bread and pastries are some of the freshest in the world. Please also bear in mind that the baker is probably waking up at 2am every morning to get these lovely fresh pastries out of the oven by opening time that same day (7-8am) It's not just a job, it's a true vocational calling. I highly encourage everyone to pay them a visit!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Flaky croissants, delicious quiche, yummy coffee, beautiful pastries and kind staff. I'm honestly already excited to go back tomorrow!

Yelp
Yes, I must admit Emily I'm Paris brought me here... but I'm so glad it did! The pastries are just as delicious as Lily Collins makes it seem in the show. Fun for fans to get a cute photo op too since it's right next to the restaurant from the show.

Yelp
This is the bakery from Emily in Paris, and I happened to stumble upon it while just looking for a bakery that was close to my hotel. The croissant and pain au pistache were INCREDIBLE. Life changing, even. If you're in this neighborhood it's definitely worth a visit - regardless of whether or not you watch that show, it's a fantastic little neighborhood boulangerie.

Yelp
The chocolate croissant was delicious!!! The staff was very hospitable. Ambiance was casual and quaint. Great experience!

Yelp
The BEST!!! Had breakfast everyday here while I was in Paris, everything was just yummy.

Yelp
We stayed not too far from this bakery and found it to have the best croissants, baguettes, and pastries in the area after trying several others. The croissant were real croissant beure and were flaky and delicious. We also found a new breakfast treat--chocolataire I believe. It was a bit like a danish but more flaky and crisp and full of chocolate. I would highly recommend trying one if you like chocolate.

Mark B.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed around the corner from this bakery and ate breakfast here most mornings. The staff didn't speak much English but they were patient with our pointing and grunting. The food was wonderful and affordable. It felt like a neighborhood bakery rather than a tourist destination, which was nice.

Yelp
We stayed next door, found this bakery the second day in Paris. We tried opera, both my son and I are huge fan of it. Chocolate croissant, and pastry with apple filling. After tried out so many opera in different country and location, this one is absolutely on the top list. We feel lucky to live nearby.

Yelp
Nicest boulangerie in the neighborhood--goes beyond the basics, and well done at that. The service is personable and efficient.

Susan C.

Yelp
Run by a nationally known baker, with prizes for his traditional baguettes. They are delicious! Unlike too many baguettes in Paris, these are the real deal, made right in the back. Almond croissants are also completely stellar, and those cookies with jam centers. Staff is generally not English speaking but very intuitive and helpful. Don't miss these fantastic treats!
