Saruni Samburu

Got this place recommended by a friend, but got really dissapointed. The complex is more like a military base than a lodge. Staff is extremely unfriendly for this level of accommodation. Once i started an argument with the staff member about the service, he reported us to rangers that kept following our car for the rest of the stay until we had to show our valid permit to samburu commander. Honestly, once i read through other reviews here, I fell like they delete the negative ones! Nice view from the top to stay positive overall 🙏🏻

Had an amazing time with our family here. Rooms had the most amazing view over the valley. We watched elephants cross the valley from the swimming pool. There’s also a second pool with even a wider view. Staff were all amazing and the food was really excellent. Our two boys couldn’t get enough! Can’t wait to go back.

The views from this lodge is magical . With spacious and comfortable beds together with a dining cum lounge area each unit a great experience. the staff and guides are knowledgeable and friendly. The three course meals offered are really scrumptious and the chef's are flexible to your dietary requirements. Overall an amazing experience.

Amazing experience. This location set us up at the start of our trip to Africa and it was the perfect starting point. We enjoyed every minute of our stay here. We were sad to leave. They treated us like we were family and every moment with them was delightful. The Staff, the location, the animals, the food it was just all so wonderful. I would go back in a second given the chance.

Of the two Saruni properties we stayed at, this was by far our favourite and it was entirely due to the staff. From the moment you arrive, you aren’t just made to feel a part of their family, you are part of it. The staff truly cares about you and ensuring you have an amazing time. We couldn’t recommend this property more. Our guides were incredible, we saw pretty much every animal possible and had an overall great time. Couple items of note - this is “a camp” in that the shower is outside and there may be lizards, spiders, voyeuristic monkeys around while you bathe… The food is very good but the portions are huge and the menu is tailored towards adults. I’d recommend discussing the menus ahead of time and asking for half portions or to take away a course.

We cannot speak highly enough of Saruni Samburu. This was our first camp on our first trip to Kenya. The people at the camp were amazing and the hospitality was second to none. Nicole, the camp manager, is amazing. Benson was always making sure we were taken care of. Our waiter, Hussein, was amazing and always great to see after our game drives. Our guide and tracker, Jommy and Beeko, were amazing and allowed us to see so much of the wildlife regularly. The room and views are fantastic. Can't wait to visit again one day.
