Sanrio Japanese Village

Hi . So my friend and I enjoyed our day shopping here. First off the shop is super nice. So fresh and clean everywhere you look .when I walked to the back of the store. I got lost because it's so kawaii big. The shop boys and girls are so kind. They are so cute too.I had so much fun here . I can't to go back. Thanks for the good experience.

I love Sanrio! However this store was not very clean when I went back in November and they had some loud Halloween music playing. Cheapest item I saw was $30

My wife absolutely loved this store, they had a lot of awesome and rare Hello Kitty merch. I don't think there are many Sanrio stores left in California and this was the first one we've found. Definitely worth the stop if you are a Hello Kitty fan.

One of my biggest pet peeves is that for it being in the heart of little Tokyo you would expect it to make its self more grand/exciting then the other Sanrio shops. IMO Arcadia Sanrio is better designed and it’s in a mall? Most plush (even small) that they carry are 20+ they don’t have many low price items. They also do not accept cash which is a big red classist flag to me THEY CLOSE AT 7 not 8 After reading comments it also seems they are not consistent with their times. If it’s night time, I would call ahead of time to make sure they’re still open. Been coming to this one for quite a few years and as much as I love Sanrio the customer service is just strange now. They follow to make sure you don’t steel but when you need help they kind just stare at you and walk away to avoid helping. Not much of my boy keroppi anymore sadly :( some items are over priced and can get cheaper online. I will still come here but it’s not a joyful as before. One of the small issue I also have is majority of the times I purchased, the bags has been a plain brown bag. Like brown paper bag I use for like school lunch. Which is wild to me since this should have branded bag as many other shops do. Not even a stamp or sticker? It makes me sad that such a well loved brand in Lil Tokyo is so mid.

There is usually a queue to get in snd you have a limited amount of time to shop when inside. There is so much to look at once you are in though! Lots of cute statues and murals to take photos of/with and even a claw machine (it was out of order when I went though). The merchandise comes in a variety of characters, even some of the less popular ones. Easy to find because there is a big Sanrio mural outside of the shop.

There's a big line to go shopping in there. The store it's super cute but make sure you don't forget your debit/credit card. They DO NOT accept cash!. My 10 years had $200 cash to spend (bday money)but no credit card. Would had been nice for the girl in charge of the line to tell us as we walked in since she was blocking the sign on the door that states "NO CASH". I had forgotten my wallet in the car, we had to go back to my car and then make line again 🤦‍♀️

Experienced a line since they limited the amount of people inside at once and you're timed once you go in. Everything was pretty expensive but that's to be expected. Clean and cute interior. Staff was very helpful/professional.

I went in and bought a Nintendo switch case. I noticed everything was covered in dust, so I just dusted it off the case. Thirty minutes after I purchased it, I noticed there was a stain on it. I walked back and asked for an exchange. The manager was so mean. She didn't acknowledge us and scoled her employees to tell me all sales are final. I kept trying to explain it was damaged, and I just wanted to exchange it. They finally exchanged it, but all the options were stained and dirty. I was really bummed out because Sanrio is supposed to be a happy place. I have been to so many Sanrio locations that allow exchanges. I will not be coming back to this location.
