San Ignacio Resort Hotel

This resort was the saving grace for our trip! The caving and Mayan ruins excursions were shut down due to flooding from a tropical storm, but we still had a wonderful time on our vacation thanks to the in-house offerings at the San Ignacio Resort. We did the night jungle tour, the iguana tour, and the medicinal tea tour and all were amazing! The hotel restaurant is fantastic as well. We enjoyed every meal we had there, and the view from the balcony seating is unmatched. We saw all kinds of local wildlife and the staff is great at spotting things and pointing them out to guests so you don't miss them. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful and the rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. We'll definitely be visiting again.

My room was spacious, immaculately clean, and beautifully decorated, blending modern comfort with natural elements. Waking up to the sounds of birds and the sight of vibrant greenery was an absolute delight. What truly sets this resort apart is its commitment to providing unique experiences. I loved exploring the trails and taking the guided iguana tour, where I got to interact with the Green Iguanas up close. The concierge also helped me arrange incredible excursions to nearby Mayan ruins and caves, making it easy to immerse myself in Belizean culture and history. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, the San Ignacio Resort Hotel delivers on all fronts. It’s the perfect blend of luxury, nature, and hospitality. I can’t wait to return!

We went on a night hike at the hotel! We were excited to see night creatures, and Santos was a great guide! He was very enthusiastic and clearly loves sharing the wonders of nature with others on the tour. We were an all-ages group, including some kids, and Santos was responsive to their curiosity along with ours as adults. It was cool and rainy which could’ve been uncomfortable but Santos kept us engaged and we found many excellent spiders, a scorpion or two, giant beetles, green iguanas, and even a few kinkajous!

Beautiful hotel in a superb location. Just up the hill from town, which is just a five minute walk away, but still a feeling of "being in the jungle" with monkeys, iguanas, and toucans in the trees! Food in the restaurant was delicious. Service was excellent. I'd definitely stay here again. Well located to take advantage of all the adventures in the area. There were also interesting and informative tours right on the property.

We stayed as a family in the San Ignacio Resort Hotel for 3 nights. There was so much to do in Belize, including caving, tubing, hiking, and walking around. The people in Belize and especially in San Ignacio are so incredibly nice. The folks at the hotel were super helpful in planning our trip and were very nice in all of our interactions. We came home from delicious dinners (especially Guava Linda and Ho-Ox Han-Nah) and grabbed a drink and dessert on the peaceful patio dining area of San Ignacio Resort Hotel every night. It was wonderful.

My husband, parents and I visited this resort for 3 nights, 4 days and we had an excellent experience from the very beginning. Every employee we interacted with was kind and helpful with whatever we needed. The concierge helped us find things to do in the area, helped us set up our trip to Tikal in Guatemala, and even had a list of things to see and do for the next part of our trip in San Pedro! Every meal we had at the resort was also excellent. You can tell they have taken the time to make every part of the experience enjoyable! The view from our room (riverview) was perfect and felt very private!

Beautiful place. Very helpful staff. Excellent restaurant. Perfect place to jump off to all the Cayo experiences as well as a trip to Guatemala. Bird watching tour guide Jason knows his stuff. As does the concierge Ozzy. Easy walk to the main drag without all the noise.

The concierge service was amazing! The rooms, were fantastic how they were divided allowing 2 single women traveling to have their own section, and a jacuzzi on the balcony. We enjoyed the manicure services and relaxing in the pool. In terms of location being located at the top of the hill, it makes for a steep walk.
