We had lunch outside in the sun. This alone is priceless. Of course, it is expensive. Wake up, you're in Iceland. The food was good. The fish could have had more spices, the pizza was very tasty. The dough was wonderful, the topping perfect. The service was friendly and fast. I do not assume that they just warm up the food, to my fellow reviewer.

Food and service were both great! Dinner was prepared quickly and the portions were generous. We were really satisfied :)

We had a great time there in the evening, and the setting is really quaint and vintage, I love the authentic feel. The food is excellent value for money, and the service is top notch with a touch of French humour. Special mention for the harrengs and fish soup. If you're really hungry and like good food, it's worth spending a little more on an extra starter or main course.

Second time dining at this restaurant. Was impressed with the lamb shank and “fish of the day” two years ago. This evening we ordered pepperoni pizza and fish stew. Pepperoni was crispy, dough was impressive. Morsels of cheese in each slice of pepperoni. Fish stew was flavorful and creamy. Staff were pleasant on a somewhat busy rainy evening.

During our trip to Reykjavik in September, we wandered down the streets from Hallgrímskirkja, just following wherever our feet took us. After an early morning flight from Canada, we were tired and hungry. The day was surprisingly sunny and warm for Iceland, so we decided to have a light bite outdoors. That’s when we stumbled upon Salka Valka and their cozy patio. I ordered the Fish Stew Tapas, and it was so incredibly delicious that I snapped a picture of the menu! When I got back to Canada, I even asked a chef friend to recreate the dish – oven-baked fish in béarnaise sauce on sweet Icelandic rye bread. With a hot cup of tea, fresh sea air, and not a care in the world, it was the perfect meal on a perfect day in a beautiful city. Truly unforgettable!

Food was ok, fish was way to thin and breading was soggy. Good flavor though! Very nice staff and they have a bathroom. Place smelled like fish. A store owner recommend this place to us, it wasent bad but not excellent.

Very nice traditional Icelandic restaurant. Big meal menu. Especially lamb and fish. The restaurant is located in the main and a popular street in Reykjavik. The food was delicious. The fish meal was my favourite. Very friendly and efficient service. And not forget to try a typical Icelandic beer 🍺 viking.

The lamb was delicious and not overcooked. The sweet potatoes were tasty, and the salad was good. I do have to say the purple cabbage was not so good. I guess I'm just not into the fermented cabbage. All in all, the service was great 👍 👌. BTW, the apple pie was AWESOME!!!😋
